Well, there are 14 episodes of the actual series left, including an entire episode dedicated to Trunks cleaning up his timeline. So really it's 13 episodes into five, 10 minute abridged episodes, then one Trunks episode.

But what's likely going to happen is that 6 will be a five part finale, and 61 will be what 31 was to the Freeza Saga, basically.

I believe we intend to do the Otherworld Tournament as a 30 minute movie, but we'll see how that turns out.

Don't you guys think is a little too much to expect Season 3 finale, a movie and a OVA before this year end?

I mean, by all Kaiser said before, I think Season 3 might end in January, Bojack Unbound and "Plan to Eradicate Christmas" will be probably be released by the beginning to the middle of the subsequent year.

Abridged wouldn't work if someone didn't know what the original was and why the jokes were meant to be funny.

The early episodes maybe, but as the series has gone on, it's become less and less of a "let's poke fun at DBZ!" show and more of its own thing. I mean sure, there are definitely jokes in there that you need to know Dragon Ball to understand, but a lot of the comedy these days is based off the characters TFS have established themselves, and does not require familiarity with the original show to enjoy.
