Pretty cool reference

Post by SuperSaiyan3Goku » Fri Jul 03, 2009 4:09 am

Just lookin around YouTube for people doing the Kamehameha. It's 4:00 AM, I'm freakin' bored as shit.

So, I came along this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnlRTlUr6HY

It is a clip from an Anime called Gin Tama. Here's a Wikipedia article. What? I couldn't think of any other sites at this moment! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gin_Tama It's from episode 115, and it's a Character that, from the video's info, is called Gin. He is doing, what else, the Kamehameha! :P

This episode came out on July 17, 2008. The Dragonball Manga debuted in 1984. 24 years after Dragonball ends, and Anime series are still copying it's most popular attack! :D

So, has anyone else seen other Anime like this one make any references to Dragonball? Clothes, Attacks, even characters themselves?
Next quest: Start collecting Dragon Ball Super Blu-Rays whenever season sets get released. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

The opening theme to Haruhi-chan; 33 seconds in you hear all five of them shout "Kamehameha". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17UAHGxZmZ8

Oh my god! I never noticed that Kamehameha in the Haruhi-chan Opening! And of course Konata's Head-Cha-La is always awesome.

Another Gin Tama parody. This one also parodies Bleach and One Piece. Plus, there's a Cell cosplayer!

Gintama has quite a lot of references to lots of anime, especially Dragon Ball. For instance;

As for kamehamehas in other anime, here's the Nabehameha from Excel Saga.

Duck Dodgers had a little reference to Dragon Ball, and it's pretty funny.

Here are four videos for a series of parodies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgWx9Vs0X8E

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJxi-x61 ... re=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fx-1J0Gef1I&feature=fvw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYLLWHxK ... re=related

Anyway... my favorite parodies are the ones from Bobobob-bo Bo-bobo series... They refrence it a lot... I'll give scans later from the volums that I have.

Oh, and of course... "Oh!! New Gadgets Super Lovers"

Here's another Gintama one. It isn't a direct reference to Dragon Ball, but...well, you'll see.

Whoa! That guy is famous! Nice, lol.

There was an early Kids Next Door episode where the 5 agents had to protect a pizza from these villains called The Kids From Down The Lane. This person called #4 fights these "The Kids From Down The Lane," but he looks like SSj Goku and they look like a five headed Freeza. Pretty funny episode.
Here is a good summery, via http://knd.wikia.com/wiki/Operation:_R.E.P.O.R.T.

"Numbuh 4's Story: After Numbah 3's failure to retrieve the Rectanguloid Power Charm (The Pizza Box), Numbah 4 takes over the story in a parody of Dragonball Z. The Delightfulons (the Delightful Children as a hydra-like parody of Frieza) charge off with their prize when they're stopped by Numbah 4-Go (Numbah 4 as a parody of Goku). The Delightfulon's aren't scared of Numbah 4-Go, and dare him to take the Rectanguloid Power Charm. Just the response he wanted, it turns out, as it gives him a good reason to launch the Gumball Attack (a parody of the Kamehameha). When it destroys the landscape around them, Numbah 4-Go assumes he's defeated them easily, but they survived the attack unscathed! And to top it off, the Delightfulons decide it's a good time to reveal their Full Power Evolution, and grow several stories tall! Numbah 4-Go decides to show them his surprise, but his little power-up only makes his hair grow larger. "Aww crud..." Numbah 4-Go tries to resist the Delightfulon's electric attack, but fails given their Power Levels are off the charts! (Remind him to go get some second charts!) This in turn, sends the Rectanguloid Power Charm flying, meaning Numbah 4-Go has failed. "But mark my words Delightfulons...I WILL NOT FAIL AGAIN!" "
Gohan: "You're a Buddhist." Kuririn: "A hungry Buddhist!"

Come to think of it, we had another thread like this.

http://db.schuby.org/daizex/viewtopic.php?t=8934

I posted this one there. It's from Disgaea 3. The Disgaea games always have funny parody 'next episode preview's between chapters.
