Your Dragonball-related guilty pleasures

Post by Rory » Fri Aug 14, 2009 11:03 am

Self explanatory thread, and don't tell me you don't have any.
I'll start. I'm quite fond of Bruce Faulconer's music.. don't get me wrong! I will never listen to it during an episode, t doesn't fit with the show at all, and just sounds awkward to me.. Though I do have a lot of the tracks on my iPod, and I do enjoy listening to some of the music outside (again, of episodes), there are a few tunes that I find to be quite catchy (SS Goku, SS Vegeta, Paikuhan's Theme etc).
What about you guys, any guilty pleasures related to Dragonball?

Dragonball Hentai and Dragonball Yaoi. They are the only series of those two genres I'd pay actual money for instead of downloading.

I watch the dub from time to time for nostalgia's sake. Funnily enough it just gives me new stuff to bitch about, I should really stop watching it. When I finally think it can't get any worse I find another awful facepalm worthy exchange.

I find Cell's techno theme remix fairly catchy. I don't mind listening to it at all.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of for now.

SPOUTING OFF RANDOM MEMES AND NOT CONTRIBUTING AT ALL IS MY GUILTY PLEASURE. HUR HUR SHOOP DA WHOOP.

Also, "beating the odds" as Videl in the games. Oozaru? Hirudegarn? Vegetto? Fuck that noise. I've got Saiyagirl.

I own a Kame dougi t-shirt.

Also, sometimes I go back and watch episodes from the FUNi/Ocean/Saban days for nostalgia's sake. Especially the episode where Goku lands on Namek and fights Reacoom. That was the first episode I ever saw.

I have that exact same shirt, except it has Kaio-Sama's logo on the back.

You look nothing like your old avatar Kendamu! That shirt is cool, I don't think I'd ever wear it in public though. Bright orange isn't really my color.

Which avatar? My current one or one of my old ones? I don't know why anyone would expect me to have wild hair like that. It gets in the way when you're sparring.

That's cool. You should post pics!

Or are you talking about the one someone on here photoshopped into Reacoom?

Yeah. I have a shirt for my actual martial arts school that I wear in public. The Kame dougi shirt is more for lounging around and working out in private.

This was, by far, my favorite moment in the entire Ginyu conflict.

I know a guy who randomly does that while yelling either "Kamehameha!" or "Hadouken!" as loud as he can in the middle of training or in the middle of a crowded area to get my attention.

He also tries to use the Shoryuken on me while sparring.

I do the Kikoho gesture every time I stretch my arms. I didn't even realize I was doing it until a friend pointed it out. Dragonball has invaded my subconscious!

That's actually pretty hillarious.
There's another one for me, in the bathroom mostly, when I can see myself in the mirror. I'll Kamehameha (original style) all slow-like.

I speak in Dragon Ball character voices in the shower, specifically Freeza (my own voice based on Abridged Pegasus and Nakao), Vegeta, and Piccolo.

Doing Chris Sabat Vegeta hurts so much, so I created my own! :D

Yeah I Kamekameha around the house, at work, in the street, coming down the stairs, whilst cooking, playing games, out in bars, walking the dog, when i'm swimming, combing my hair, at the park, in the car, dancing, during sex, putting my shoes on, sat in church, playing Dragonball..

It's so inappropriate, but I just can't help it! :(

My all time Dragonball guilty pleasure is.. Dragonball! I don't think it's something that'll go away either. I've tried to distance myself from being such a Dragonball geek, but I can't help eet! :P

Anyone tried playing pool with replica Dragon Balls? Does that count as a guilty pleasure? :)
