Creating your dream cast for DB

Goes for DB - Z - GT - Kai.

Curious on what some people what certain characters to be voiced by had. If they had the chance to pick a voice for Db characters. I would't change a lot of the cast. Perhaps I would use some of the Older Cast(That was in Z) for DBZ Kai(Such as the Ginyu Force).

This can go for ANY dub.

Well, if it's the Japanese cast, I would only bring back to life those VAs who have passed over the years, so they could still play their old roles. Especially Hirotaka Suzuoki, Daisuke Gouri, and Kenji Utsumi.

As for the English dub cast? Wow, that's a toughie. As much as I bag on the DBZ cast, it would be difficult to find others who could actually capture the characters as well as the Japanese cast. There'd probably be a lot of the newer VAs from Kai. Years ago I put together a "dream cast" that I now look at with revulsion.

Well I don't have any problems with the Funimation or Japanese casts so this is less of a dream cast and more of "what I think would be cool" cast.

Goku: Tod Harberkorn.

Broli: Patrick Seitz.

Tullece. Jerry Jewle.

I don't know if it's an attachment to Ryo Horikawa, but I've always had difficulty dream casting Vegeta. Something about the character makes it hard to imagine him with an English voice. Even Sabat's skill in the role in Kai is more incidental than anything.

A long time ago I heard Mark Hamill as a suggestion, who could be genius in the role if he approached it like Ozai; ego masking mania.

Whenever I listen to 「Ya」 na Koto ni wa Genki-Dama!! I think it'd be pretty funny to hear Hironobu Kageyama as Goku.

Yeah, obviously he's a singer with some limited acting experience, and his voice would be a huge difference from Nozawa's, so perhaps it wouldn't be the best fit but he's very a energetic guy even in now in his 50s. Plus, Super Survivor showed he's got some lungs on him.

Maybe it'd be weirdly awesome... or awkward (who knows).

(Even though I was joking I'll just make it clear that I don't want anyone replacing Nozawa).

Some FUNimation dub suggestions:

I'm curious to hear what Sean Schemmel would be like as Bardock and would've had Brice Armstrong replace him as North Kaio, if he hadn't retired.

I also wish that Uub, Adjutant Black, and any other black characters I'm forgetting would be voiced by black voice actors. I've never liked Uub's dub voice, and Christopher Sabat seemed like he couldn't decide whether to use his current Piccolo voice, his Recoome voice, or his Piccolo Daimao voice for Black in Dragon Ball Movie 4 - based on the couple of times I watched it dubbed. (I am aware Black's not actually "black" in that movie).

Sonny Strait as Yajirobe, maybe? To go with what's said in the manga about him sounding like Kuririn.

Oh yeah, and "Old Bastard" as everyone in the Big Green du...oh, wait!

The problem with that is there aren't a lot of black voice actors in Texas. That was a thing explained when some folks were wondering why they didn't get an actual black man to play Garterbelt in Panty & Stocking. Heck, outside Todd Haberkorn, Monica Rial, and Brina Palencia in Kai, the cast is pretty much all Caucasian. Doesn't matter, but just letting ya know.
