We missed 193 episodes? Damn, EX, you need to check your sources more often!
Yes, I know that DBAF isn't real. But here's what the episodes might be if it was real:
:?
So basically "DBAF isn't real, but here's its episode list complete with the ennemies they have to fight and super power ups and old-school training methods!"

Gee, I guess I need to keep up on things much more so than I already do... I'm missing such important events!

So basically, through half these "supposed" episodes in AF, they fight everyone they've already fought throughout DBZ? Geez couldn't these guys have been a little more creative than that? As well as actually learning to spell the word "warrior" right for heaven's sake! :?

Dragonball V is a work of fan-fiction in it's 3rd year that is in the process of becoming a fan-manga as well as a fan-series, complete with full length episodes, voices, and music. Dragonball V is NOT also known as Dragonball Vertigo. Dragonball V is NOT a creation of Akira Toriyama, TOEI Animation, or FUNimation... you will not be seeing Dragonball V on the Television.
They probably liked the tv series so much that they called the chapters episodes. Rumor starters probably just took this as "proof".

Ya, concerning V, I personally think it's as ridiculous as AF. Trying to get it made into an animation and stuff?! I mean I think it would be great to have a 20th anniversary movie or something nice and simple like that, but making up all these sagas and transformations, and other Saiyajins! It's just re-hashing. That's why Toriyama ended when he did. What more could really be done without it getting tedious? Some already think it had gotten tedious where he did end things. Let it go people. Toriyama has!

I have to admit, DBZ even gets ridiculous with the levels and ongoning sagas that it has. AF/V are insane...

Has anyone ever read actual doujinshi?

Myself personally, nope. I'm not really interested in it. I think that the people who create a lot of the doujinshi are really talented, I'm just not interested in it. My opinion of doujinshi are, why waste all your time and talent on something that isn't even your original idea? I can understand doing a fan-fiction here and there as a personal hobby, although I'm not really into that either. I just think that people that create doujiishis are really wasting their creativeness. Some of the drawers are so talented! Granted, some of them do go on to their own careers like Clamp did. But it seems most of them are content to stay in their safe little "otaku bubble". I especially think yaoi doujinshis are a waste. Hey at least if your going to create a doujinshi of your favourite anime, try and make the characters act as close to their original personality as possible. I mean, do you really think I want to read a DBZ doujinshi about Vegita and Trunks in a relationship? Not only is it a ridiculous idea, it's pretty twisted as well. It is incest after all! As a women myself, I've never really understood this need for women to see their favourite anime males in gay relationships. To me, it's just weird. But then, I also think cosplay masquerades at anime conventions are weird. No offense to anyone who competes in them. It's just how I feel. Boy, I'm certainly ranting a lot today!

Hey guys: isn't funny how it's ok for a girl to read yaoi, but not ok for a guy to watch lesbian porno? Double standards! Bah!

I definetely agree with you on that point Dayspring, even though I'm female. Of course I don't understand why some guys have that weird fetish either, so you can't say I have double standards! Hee hee! Can you imagine straight guys wanting to read about Ryu and Ken from "Street Fighter" whispering sweet nothings to each other! You'd just never see that!

It's so true. Who cares about same-sex stuff if you're hetero? You should be praying for bisexual lovers! Duh! :P

What annoys me the most about yaoi: It's always two guys who aren't even remotely gay in the series. Hell, write a yaoi story about two gay guys from a series, be my guest. I'm not gonna read it, but I'll have no problems with it. But turning chracters gay just because you want to practise some of you sicker fantasies on them annoys the buggers out of me.

PS: I've just read some of that Dragon Ball V stuff.... Dr. Pants? I really hope they're not being serious. Actual Quote:

Secretary: May I help you, sir?

Kain: I need to talk to Dr. Pants.

Secretary: Dr. Pants is not available right now, however, I can schedule you for this afternoon if you wish?

Kain: Ummm no.. I changed my mind..

If I took a crap on a plate and called it SSJ 15 I would most likely get a group a believers.

Just food for thought. Toriyama may not even remember how many SSJ levels he created himself for that matter so I doubt he is rolling or even twisting.

edit

Toriyama isn't dead yet

Toriyama isn't dead yet
The topic name was part of the joke. There are tons of rumors that he was:

1) dead as a result of a heart attack (biggest and most popular of which many still believe today)

2) dead as a result of complications in heart surgery

3) died in one of the 911 crashes.

All ridiculous and even offensive.

On the topics of doujinshi and yaoi, I just see them as ways to get more involved in a series you like. I mean, once you've watched the episodes, read the manga and all that, what more is there to do? Sure, you can have discussion groups like this, but people who like to do art and tell stories may prefer to write fanfics or doujinshi. I don't see it as wasting talent, because the people creating these may have no intention at all to actually become artists or authors, they're just expressing their love for a series in their own way. As for yaoi....well, even as a yaoi fan (though not for DBZ pairings) I can't really say I can explain the appeal. A lot of the pairings that people imagine (in shounen anime especially) come from a sort of male comradery that many women interpret as unresolved sexual tension. I don't really see how it's sick or wrong, everyone has their fantasies, and a lot of women just happen to fantasize about yaoi.

I thought it was always the other way around with women liking gay men versus men liking lesbians. In mainstream society, the idea seems to be that men are expected to like the idea of two girls going at it (or, preferably, in a threesome with the man) while a woman who likes gay men is just weird.
