Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
I saw it yesterday in Dover, DE at the Carmike 14 with a friend. Just like last year, I had to make a 2 hour drive just to see it, but I think it was worth it. The theater was packed and I'm glad I ordered tickets online. Lots of those Goku gi shirts from Hot Topic/FYE, and one little kid dressed up as Goku, which was cute. The movie itself was really enjoyable, I definitely get what people mean about it feeling like a 90's Toei movie with Toriyama's involvement. One guy sitting next to me whispered, "Yay, Jaco!" when he popped up and I immediately wondered if he posted here. The crowd laughed at all the right parts, so loud in fact that any dialogue afterward couldn't be heard at all over them. The volume in general could have been upped quite a bit. The video projector at this theater also flickered throughout the entire film, which was extremely irritating. At the end of the movie my friend said to some people behind us, "Was I the only one praying the bulb wouldn't go out?" The dub cast was excellent in this, with Ayres definitely stealing the show as Freeza. Some of the CGI in the film definitely looked out of place, but in general the melding of 2D and 3D animation worked well, particularly during the fight between Goku and Freeza. I was really surprised by the animation in general, even if framing wasn't always the most dynamic. There wasn't much to the film in terms of plot, but it totally channeled the spirit of the 90's films, and I'm sure it gave people who didn't like Battle of Gods that much the movie they wanted all along. Great time overall, just wish the theater was a little better.

This is the episode of when Gokuh enrages himself after Freezer talk shit about Kuririn
Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
Alright well I just got out of the movie. I really liked it even though I read the synopsis months ago on here (which I regret doing lol). Comedy was great and the action was good. Questionable at some parts but otherwise good. But my experience in the theater was not as pleasant.
It was packed to the brim and completely sold out which was really nice to see. Before the movie started the two people next to me were talking pretty loud so I heard what they were saying, and their comments were cringworthy (even more so during the movie). People laughed at the right times and the wrong times, to the point where I couldn't hear the next line. People were talking throughout the whole thing which ticked me off too. On top of the cake were the typical Krillin jokes which haven't been funny since 2010

It sucks to hear that some of you guys had to go through some annoying theater experiences. Mine was excellent and nobody, I repeat NOBODY, made any TFS references. The only time someone yelled out loud was before the base Goku vs Freeza fight, and he said "KICK HIS ASS!" Everyone seemed to love Jaco as well which was great to see.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
I decided to sit this one out and just wait for the home video release, but a co-worker/friend of mine went to see it yesterday and had a blast. Before he went, I gave him some quick, non-spoiler context of what Jaco The Galactic Patrolman is, which really helped him out. He had never even heard the name before I mentioned it.
He mentioned how there were at least three generations of fans packed into the theater with him, which really made me happy. He also mentioned that there were a lot of people trying to be funny by shouting Dragon Ball memes during the film, which made me less happy. He also mentioned that he, along with the audience, actually loved the shouting fans and thought it made the whole experience better, which made me far less happy. But I decided not to say any of that and just enjoyed a pleasant, casual Dragon Ball discussion for a change. For what it's worth, he really liked the film.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
Went yesterday on Day 1 and had a blast. Only complaint was all the laughing which was sometimes dumb, like during the intro video, Sonny, Krillin's voice appears and people just bust out laughing and I couldn't hear what he was saying haha. The movie was great though, I stayed away from any details, but sadly I knew what was going to happen. Unlike BOG I purchased the Japanese version watched it and with English subtitles so the movie wasn't a fresh wow factor like I had with Ressurectrion F. Overall I give it a 8/10 only because I wish Vegeta delivered the final blow, or at least a tag team effort since 'teaming up' was such a focus for Whis.
Thought Goku getting beat on by Vegeta was hysterical, luckily that did not get spoiled for me and caught me completely off guard.
Theater was 100% sold out so that was good, the hype is still real! Brought 8 friends with so it's even more fun. Planning another trip with others that didn't get to see it on Saturday!

My theater was PACKED! Whole house was filled. Sadly, some technical difficulties occurred before the movie, which was annoying. But it started and we saw the pre-show and the whole movie. It was great! These teens next to me talked a bit which annoyed me, but other than that, I loved the film. Jaco was great! I loved it! I did enjoy Battle of Gods more, but this is still great!

Saw the film today. Still like BOG better, but RF was still fun. Didn't really chat with anyone in the theater, aside from my friends. Everyone laughed when Yamcha was mentioned. Honestly, it bugged me way more than it should have. Everyone thinks they're super clever making TFS references.
NOTE: Mind you I love TFS, but the Yamcha jokes are just annoying at this point.

I saw at AMC Columbia 14 in Maryland. There was a line for the movie before the movie started and the theater was pack. I was lucky enough to get a back row in the movie and it was great. Everyone was laugh with Jaco, Beerus and Whis. Everyone also clap for enjoy when Vegeta became a SSjGSSj. People where confused by Bluma having a sister.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
I couldn't be happier (I could) with our theater experience. We (my group of friends and I) went to see Battle of Gods at the local Carmike here, and it's notorious about having something wrong with their screenings (we had a line that ran vertically through the picture for the entirety of Avengers), and last year's BoG was atrocious at best. Stereo sound, no surround, and the image had been squashed to 4:3.
Resurrection F: completely different story. Our theater had a 4:00 and 7:00 showing and we went to the 7:00 and the crowd coming out of the 4:00 was huge, as was our showing. The movie looked great and sounded great! They weren't next to me, but next to one of my buddies where what he said were a couple of 16-17 year old girls geeking out over this and that about the movie, which to my surprise included Jaco. I don't think I whole lot of people in the theater knew who he was unfortunately. The only bad part about our theater was we had some guys in the rows behind us that insisted on talking through the whole thing. I've gotten to the point where I can look over laughing during funny bits or even reactions to things in general, but they were just being rude. Anything that wasn't fighting was mocked by them among other things. Other than that and the oddity that was the background music was literally playing out of the front left speaker and nowhere else. I couldn't figure out if it was a theater thing or how they mixed the movie.
Also: Earth's Hell: I approve!

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
I just came back from watching the movie with a few friends and I must say that despite some problems here and there in terms of pace, a lack of proper explanations, and other stuff plenty of people have mentioned to death by now, I really, really enjoyed the film and probably haven't enjoyed a film as much as I did since the time I saw Battle of Gods for the first time. Since I'm planning on watching it again with another group of friends later I want to quickly jot down my thoughts of the film as a first impression and see how my opinions change during a second viewing on the 11th.
Preshow:
I hated it. It was kind of a stupid waste of time in my opinion... It was cool to see the VA's talk about Resurrection F and I really enjoyed what they had to say, but that should've been put on Youtube. The whole quiz thing was probably the most annoying. It's probably just because I'm a big-ish Dragon Ball fan, but the questions were so absurdly simple that the fact that the cast members got some of the questions wrong made me feel that they didn't even care about the series and were only in it for the job. I mean I honestly doubt that's the case and I feel that it was just something made so that people would be like, "ha this is funny! I knew that!" but I guess it just across to me as annoying... The showing of the other Funimation stuff was there... Not really being a fan of Attack on Titan, Ghost in the Shell, and Boy and Monster and or whatever it's called the whole thing just came across to me as pointless advertising.
Movie:
Edit: Fixed some messy sentences...

A lot of people where also laughing when Freeza was in Hell. Some people where confused by the scenes of Hell since it look nothing like the Hell in the anime. A lot of people seem to like the movie. I saw some people saying that Lord Beerus is now one of their new favorite characters.

What scenes got the biggest laughs out of the audience? From what I've seen on YouTube Vegeta's bingo scene and Goku's "My Bulma!" had the biggest laughs in BoG so I'm curious to what they were in this one.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
Saw the movie tonight at a sold out showing at an AMC in Burbank, CA.
Jaco was a clear favorite among the entire audience, which was nice to see as I can guarantee you that the majority of the audience had no idea who he was prior to this film. I'm sure there will be more demand for him after this.
The theater experience was fine, sound was great, but the picture was clearly from a blu-ray or something.
The rest regards my feelings toward the film itself and, even though you will have had everything spoiled for you ten-fold by now if you are reading this thread, I will wrap it in spoiler tags just in case, as it contains major plot points.
That is all. Aside from that major disappointing moment, I really enjoyed the film.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
I just got back from the 4:30pm showing at Charlestown in NSW. I had my reservations going into it as it was the English dub, a 3d showing and perhaps worst of all I would be subjected to the chortling, mouth breathing meme-spouting unwashed masses that is anime fandom at large.
My qualms however were completely unwarranted. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, thanks to a well behaved audience, a snappy and entertaining English dub (Mike Mcfarlane's horrendous Muten Roshi aside) and a 3d experience that didn't give me a migraine (although the effect was so subtle that it was almost pointless). And while the movie itself wasn't fantastic, the atmosphere in the room was infections and it warmed my heart a little to share the experience (as uneven as it was) with my fellow Dragonball fans.

Enjoyed it thoroughly!!!
The Quality of the dub was quite good overall, and Chris Ayres was just music to the ears.
A few things were very groan worthy for me, those things being "Destructo Disc", "Tri-Beam" and "Special Beam Cannon" but otherwise, I enjoyed myself quite a bunch.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
It was amazing! I saw it in Lafayette, LA with a sold out crowd. The big crowd made the atmosphere in the theater much better. I liked it more than BOG, but the whole pre show thing was kind of stupid. It also felt a little rushed at times, but I am assuming that they will go into more detail in DBS. It was funny, the fights were pretty good, Jaco was a great addition to the movie (can't wait to see him in DBS) and overall was a very good movie.

Re: Post your Resurrection F Theatre Experience
Saw it last night - it was VERY crowded. Local theatre had it there for only two days though.
Worst part was the projector screwed up and they had to restart the movie. We just missed rewatching the stupid interviews, but had to rewatch about 20 minutes of the movie. I also, didn't like them showing Golden Freeza in the stupid little interviews they had - HELLO! SPOILERS! That was a waste of time in my opinion. That should be a DVD extra.
The movie was fine though - not the best, but not the worst. It's good that we even got more animation though at all.

For my showing it was when Beerus told Bulma to "stay by me and I'll make sure you survive"... and everyone slides over near them.Bullza wrote:What scenes got the biggest laughs out of the audience?

Will be interesting to compare the Japanese audience reactions with the English ones. The biggest one I recall from my viewing is when Bulma's talking to Whis and says something along of the lines of "That totally evil asshole Freeza has come back to life!". Freeza looks really mad and responds "asshole?!" (kusottare?!). That got some pretty loud laughs. How was that handled in the dub, by the way?
