He did conceptual art for Giru, Pan, Trunks and kid Goku, as well as the planet of the giant (pic has 2 giants in it) and the ship they use.

Gary's right about them being in #7.

The way he designed Trunks, you'd think he was intentionally sabotaging GT...

Toriyama-sensei: "Whaddaya mean I HAVE to draw the conceptual art?! Dragonball is OVER! Fine then! We'll make Trunks no longer a Saiyan but a space cowboy! MUWAHAHAH!!! And let's randomly make Goku 12 years old again! That's right, the same age as when Dragonball STARTED! BUUUWAAAAAHAHAAA!! That's not a capsul! It's Giru, the DragonRadar/machine gun! NOW THEY'RE ALL RANDOMLY THE SIZE OF ANTS!!!! BAAAAAHAAAHAA!!! I wanted to end it after Freeza. Then Cell! Then you made me do the damned BOO SAGA! LET MY MASTERPIECE DIEEEEE!!!!"

That musta been a funny meltdown. Think Neko Majin, Z, Z2 are him in a catatonic state thinking he's still writing dragonball?

Ha ha! You know as bad as Toriyama might have been for designing Goku, Pan, and Trunks, I think the one to win the award for "character design sabatoge" should be the one that did Vegita. One word-moustache! :P

Vegeta: "The hair of a saiyan never changes after his birth".

**Pictures baby Nappa w/those squirrel tails under his nose**

Worse yet: Baby King Vegeta with his full facial-hair ensemble!

So have you read the Shenron Times interview that was included with Daizenshuu 7 in limited qualities? It provides some rather interesting information on Toiriyama's views with respect to GT that would blow the building years of rumors that have grown into 'fact' in the online DB world of overreacting prepubescent fans.

I don't think my version (translated into french) has it! For GT all I have is pictures from Weekly Jump 1995 issue 43, 52 and 1996 issue 3 and 4. Are you talking about the 15 panel manga "The anime and me" where in panel 10 he explains how he originally envisioned Goku as an old fogey with white hair+ a mustache(sp?) and cane like Kame-Senin's?

I just read it on the net. Nowhere does it refer to DBGT. :x

Shenron Times?

DBZ might have been viewed as less childish, in my opinion, if they had ended it earlier.

Ended GT earlier?! It was only 60 something episodes, making it the shortest of all 3 series. If it ended any earlier...well, their wouldve been no point in making it to begin with.

EDIT: Er, ignore that. I misread your statem,ent... :D ;

No you didn`t because
A. No one has translated it.
B. I am unaware of anyone in the States who has that particular Shenron Times besides myself or Viz. And if people do have it in English-speaking countries, they have yet to make it publicly available.

You are perhaps refering to the interviews included in the actual text. What I am speaking of is the special pamphlet that was included with early Daizenshuu prints.

You've got me curiouse, what exactly does it say? From what I understand Toriyama didn't have a high opinion of it, and even joked around about bringing back DBZ because it was so awful.

I hate to paraphrase since my books are all in the states, but in addition to praising the staff, listing what his work was on the series and even going so far as to say that if he continued the series he would like it to have gone in that direction, he even said he would be watching it on television with the fans. Normally I would chalk that up to Japanese politeness but since we know Toriyama actually watched DBZ with his family, I would not doubt it.
