They've used the ki blasts as deliberators idea too, right?
No idea, I never actually finished Dragon Ball Evolution. For some reason. I probably should get on that.

It made Mai a badass henchegirl.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

If I tell you that one of the most beautiful clothes Goku wears comes from Dragon Ball Evolution, would you believe me? Because that's the case. :)

I also liked the eclipse concept, that was genius and way more interesting than the full moon thing.

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

1- It went with Dragon Ball instead of the more popular DBZ choice.
2- Some costumes were good like Goku's and Piccolo's.
3- James Marsters and Chow Yun-Fat's performance.
4- The training montage.
5- Fu-Lum fight.
6- Yamcha scores a victory. :D
7- The final battle.

I always thought James Marsters was a decent Piccolo, and Chow Yun-fat despite looking nothing like Roshi, was also pretty good, so there's that.

Ah, but see they say succeeded and it DID have monetary success.

I actually enjoyed the movie. It was a modern real life take on DB. My only complaint would be that Piccolo didnt have any antenna for some odd reason. It was a fun movie to watch through for me, plus I've seen it multiple times. But i understand completely why majority hated it.

Did it?

The impression I get is that it didn't succeed. The rule of thumb is a movie has to make back twice its budget to at least break even. Then there's the fact that there was no interest by the studio in doing a sequel.

It's been a while since I saw it. I don't even remember Yamcha being in it.

-Goku's hair looked ok during the final battle

-Goku's gi looks decent

-James Piccolo voice was cool (be a good voice for Piccolo jr)

-some of the ki attacks looked passable animation wise

-the Dragon Balls themselves were the only things that looked really good

-with proper writing Emmy Rossum could of been a good Bulma

-some of the music was good, just not good for DB

That's all I can think of at the moment everything else coming to mind makes me cringe at it's awfulness.

DBE only made $57,497,699 on a $30-40 million budget and not to mention the money that Fox spend on marketing on the movie. I remember there was a good amount of marketing of the movie. Movies need to make back double of the budget to make back their money. Not to mention studios don't get everything from overseas. Most of DBE's box office came from China oddly enough.

-Goku's clothes.
-Piccolo.
- The gelly gag.
-An scene (in the DVD version) from a kind of game or whatever (i don't really remember it well) in which a guy fails performing the kamehameha way, as a kid, i thought it was kinda funny.
-The fact, that BoG, super and the new db movie (hopefully it'll be good) exist thanks to it.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about modern db thought.

The reason why James Marsters was a solid King Piccolo, was because he is actually a fan of the franchise (and the only reason why Piccolo was actually green in the film).

Chow Yun Fat, though I like his other films, just didn't work for me in this film.

The Dragon Balls looked about right.

It made Toriyama so mad he revived the series with Battle of Gods, Resurrection of F, and Super.

Cinemasins actually had a second part where they compared the film to the source material (the ONLY time they have ever done so).

Marsters is a fan, but he's also a good actor.

That toriyama hated it so much he decided to revive the franchise

On second thought not sure if that’s a good thing.

-Character outfits were cool (especially Goku's gi and Piccolo)
-ChiChi was really awesome in this movie. Absolutely loved her.
-It was mostly based on DB, not the always overrated and overused DBZ
-Bulma was ok
-Mai looked dope (lacked any personality tho)
-Entire idea of Goku going to school was good (i like when they try a new, crazy things as long as it's executed in a good way)
-Goku fighting bullies was very funny

I don't really hate this movie. I liked it more than Death Note from Netflix. I'd give it 4/10 or 3/10 at least for what it is, trying to ignore differences from original manga.
It's a bad Dragon Ball movie, and a pretty bad movie overall. But i've seen much worse things in my life than DBE. And i don't think it deserves as much hate as it gets.

Except they made him into a generic emo kid in high school that has been so prevalent in such films. They made Goku into generic teen #3.
