Manga: Chapter 155 "Son Goku's Counterattack." Goku messes up Drum and starts fighting King Piccolo.

Anime: Dragon Ball episode 192 "Goku Enters the Ring!" The 22nd World Tournament begins and Goku defeats Pamput.

Good stuff! :D

As for the anime, the one that aired the closest after I was born was the filler episode where Goku fights the demon Shura.

As far as filler episodes go, that was a pretty decent one, so I'm satisfied.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

Is that the one Funimation called Goku Goes to Demon Land?

I scrubbed through that one a while back and was shocked to find a knight that looked just like Shovel Knight!

Very interesting what point Dragon Ball was reaching when we were just starting our lives.

I was born the week of Chapter 31 - Kame Sen'nin's Severe Training (亀仙流の厳しい修業).

The DB anime wasn't out yet; but Dr. Slump was still going at episode 214 - Thank's Suppaman (ありがとう!スッパマン)

I'm shocked there aren't more people here who weren't even born when GT ended.

That was one of the concerns I had when starting the topic! I think with Super in the mix we'll get more and more of these fans popping up as time goes on, but at the same time Dragon Ball's big boom in the west was in the mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s.

I was born on September 1st, 1998. The series had already ended in Japan, and the dub was on hiatus, so nothing really happened that week.

However, in-universe, the date that Bulma met Goku was September 1st, which I think is really cool! Unfortunately, my only source for this is the Dragon Ball wiki, and I don't know Japanese so I can't check the Daizenshuu they cited as a source.

I understand your skepticism; the wiki quoting the Daizenshuu is as good as "oh I heard a guy say it was in one of the Daizenshuu's in a chat room once a year ago".

Goku turned Super Sayain 3 on November 9th 1994 the day before I was born, those screams heard round the world probably made my mum's waters break.

Well, for once, the wiki is correct!

Thanks for the reassurance! I've gotta say, as a Dragon Ball fan, I'm kinda proud to have been born on the same date that the series starts in-universe.

On my birth week, Goku and Piccolo Daimao were in the middle of their climactic battle in the manga (manga chapter 157).

(Replace "movie" with "DBS episode" and that's pretty much my thoughts in regards to DBS critique)

Dragon Ball GT was Airing on Fuji TV.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

June 14 1995, the manga was finished and the anime didn't air that week  . So my birth falls between Gohan being absorbed and the Vegito fusion.

Anime: Gohan was going to High School for the first time in his life
Manga: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and the Supreme Kai were heading through Babidi's spaceship to attempt to stop Majin Buu's resurrection.

I'm kind of surprised that the manga was that close to the anime, truth be told.

Two days before I was born, Pan was turned into a doll and Cardinal Muchi Muchi was destroyed.
