Ryūji Saikachi Has Passed

Post by Lord Beerus » Mon Oct 02, 2017 8:00 am

Ryūji Saikachi, seasoned seiyuu and the man who provided the voice for The Grand Kaio in Dragon Ball Z, has tragically died.

He passed away in a Tokyo hospital on September 29 due to congestive heart failure. He was 89.

He will be sorely missed. :(

EDIT: It seem's I've made in error in the character that Ryūji Saikachi voiced. It was not Grand Kaioshin, but the Grand Kaio. Apologies.

R.I.P. Ryūji Saikachi :(
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Rest in peace, sir. I always loved that voice. He lived to 89 - big bucket of win.

Sad to see him gone  . He did live a long life with a great legacy behind him though.

I do believe that the Grand Supreme Kai had a few battle grunts, etc.

Rest in Power, Saikachi-san

You guys are thinking of this Kaioshin: http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Supreme_Kai when Saikachi actually voiced this Kaioshin: http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Kai either way it's sad to hear that another prolific seiyū has passed away.

If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

Oh my apologies. It was stated as Grand Kaioshin, which lead me to believe it was the Grand Supreme Kai, not Grand Kai

Never the less, a tragic loss.

..I'm gonna have to file this under things that grind my gears, as that is not a Kaioshin(Supreme Kai), but just The Grand Kaio.

Thanks for the correction, I wish I could edit my post to rectify this, unfortunately I'm no longer able to (there seriously needs to be at the very least a 2-3 day grace period from the time you make your original post where you can still edit said post before that option is removed, that way if someone needs to edit their post to make a correction they actually have an adequate chance to do so).

Rest in peace, sir. I am glad he lived a long life and entertained so many of us in it.
