Michiru Shimada has passed away

Post by KBABZ » Fri Dec 15, 2017 8:43 pm

Not a Dragon Ball script writer, but Michiru Shimada did do the script for both Dr. Slump animes, three of the Dr. Slump movies in the 80s, Rurouni Kenshin, and One Piece. Her last work appears to be Little Witch Academia, concluding a thirty-eight-year career. She passed away due to illness at 11:30am Japan Time on Friday at age 58.

Her Twitter account was updated last by her daughter today (December 15th): https://twitter.com/soramona2000/status ... 1221918720

Another person who passes away at only 58? Why so young?

This is really sad. I thought Japan had the longest lived lives where most easily made it to 80-90.

Is it just me or have there been far too many women in Japan dying young recently? There was the death of Hiromi Tsuru a month ago as well as a ton of young Japanese voice actresses in the world of Anime dying young as well. I swear the healthcare in Japan is severely flawed.

May her soul rest in peace.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

Despite the current news blackout regarding the Fukushima disaster, this will (or has) indeed cause health problems for Japan and the world. An increase in cancer rates along the Pacific will probably be a growing trend in the future.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada
