Its's a bit sad to say this but from the plot and trailer this actually looks promising lol

Well I mean if a 100% promotional anime based on a side-product which is non canon turns out to have better intrigues, story, direction and animation than the official continuation aka Super with Toriyama behind it... I'll enjoy a good show but it will hurt lol

BoG film wasn't a pure idea was a rewritten script.
RF film was essentially the same film beat for beat.

DBS.
He wanted movies retold as arcs.
Newest DBS arc was a tournament.
Next big arc came from an idea from Toei but either way something fresh.
Next big arc being a MASSIVE tournament....

And he is now supposedly written a "multi layered" story for this new movie... I still find that hard to believe but this movie will be my last chance on him before I am in fully in the "Toriyama out" camp. I'm absolutely hoping he delivers! Surely Toei wouldn't go through all this trouble of literally changing DB's look for a shitty script so that is a crumb of comfort, I have.

Agree he needs an editor. More often then not when creators are left to their own devices more often then not you'd find their output to be not so great.

Right now if everything said about the movie is true then I'll be more than satisfied but part of me is still very very cautious.

The neat thing about Heroes is it will give us interesting battles and match ups we most likely wouldn't see in other forms of DB media. Though I wish this anime started at the beginning of the Heroes plot, I expected it to start at prison planet arc since it's obviously a commercial for the current content in the Heroes game. Still though, seeing ssj4 vs ssjb will be interesting.

We need both Tori and Toei working in tandem. Either when left to their own devices can make big mistakes, however Toei's adaption of Super has mostly been quality.

It be argued that the best ideas Super had came from Toei but it most certainty be argued that the worst ideas Super had came from them as well.


But what we do know is Toriyama gave Toei enough Freedom with the Tournament of Power for them to make that into a good story, he let them write the personalities and abilities of the 65 characters, he let them decide how they would perform, he gave them a recruitment arc to develop what they wanted to focus on and most importantly, he gave them the biggest stakes Dragon Ball ever had.

Toriyama already has editors, its Toei and Toyo themselves. They take his conception and add execution, but Toei have never been good at execution, not even their own ideas.
