How much would the Cell Games saga be worth with the box and without?
How do you see how much previous box sets have sold for?

Dragon Ball was very big in the UK.JohnnyCashKami wrote:To be fair, anime in UK has never been that big of a hit (from the looks of it) and much less Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball was and continues to be hugely popular in European countries, other Western countries and elsewhere but Britain has been the oddball for it. It doesn't help that back then they'd only show Dragon Ball on premium paid channels in UK whereas now, there's CX (?) whom air Kai, ain't it?90sDBZ wrote:If it had been left up to them Dragonball would have remained a dead franchise in the UK forever while the rest of the world enjoyed watching Super.
I remember something about Pokémon doing great in Britain but heck, it's Pokémon so it was bound to.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Price dropped. Could have gotten a further £25 off earlier today. Oh well...
How much would the Frieza. Cell Games. Fusion. Majin Buu and Kid Buu saga singles go for? Are the Madman edition more valuable?

Concerning the Madman singles
Good luck finding the Madman singles, though. I don't know what the most reliable website for finding them is.TheBalishChannel wrote:Pros:
+ Only release that didn't mess with the colors or zoom.
+ Has much better encoding (less macro-blocking, episodes don't cut off abruptly). CLICK HERE FOR A COMPARISON.
+ Episodes do not fade in from black. Up until "4.6 - WORLD TOURNAMENT: JUNIOR DIVISION", the DVDs didn't include an option to switch between the Japanese and English versions and thus lack alternate angles, which allows for one consistent video track with no artificial transitions.
+ The DVD version of "1.3 - SAIYAN CONFLICT: SNAKE WAY" is the only release that contains episode 9's actual next episode preview (absent from all VHS releases, the North American DVD, and the "Rock the Dragon Edition" DVD set which swaps the next episode preview with episode 10's.)
+ The DVD versions of "2.1 - CAPTAIN GINYU: ASSAULT" and "2.2 - CAPTAIN GINYU: DOUBLE CROSS" include one recap and one next episode preview for the first and last episode on each disc, respectively. These are absent from the North American release because of their included Japanese audio and video tracks. Additionally these episodes also have the correct credits (crediting Shuki Levy, Kussa Mahehi, and Ron Wasserman for the "Rock the Dragon" theme song).
+ Madman's VHS release of the Cell Games Saga is the only one to contain Dale Kelly's original narration in it's entirety for all 9 volumes, barring most of the recaps and next episode previews.
Cons:
- The video has apparent ghosting artifacts due to the way the materials were converted from NTSC to PAL which unfortunately cannot be reversed.
- Unlike the North American DVDs, these do not contain a recap for every episode. The North American DVDs started including recaps after the Captain Ginyu Saga.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Black Box Collection
This is, in fact, somewhat deceptive. You can use some fairly simple video processing to pretty much entirely eliminate the ghosting, but it's too slow to go in realtime, and leaves some other minor artefacting. However, even with this in mind, simply deinterlacing using a doubled-up framerate deinterlacer(Such as YADIF 2x) will yield perfectly watchable results, and works in realtime.Danfun64 wrote:Concerning the Madman singlesTheBalishChannel wrote:- The video has apparent ghosting artifacts due to the way the materials were converted from NTSC to PAL which unfortunately cannot be reversed.

Whew that's steep at 395$ lol. I don't even think I spent that much when buying the box sets separately on eBay last year.
