With the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, this subject is re-commented. That's why during the movie, the infamous "41 years before" appears ... Come on, we need to organize this.
This is paraphrased from the (shock-horror!) Dragon Ball wiki. That combined with my total unfamiliarity with Super means that some things maaaaay be inaccurate!

= Pre-Dragon Ball =
Time Immemorial: Majin Buu is formed
75m years before Age: Old Kai is sealed into the Z-Sword by Beerus
5m yeas before Age: Bibidi summons Majin Buu. Buu absorbs South Supreme Kai and becomes Fat Buu, before going into hibernation.
c. 238 before Age: Yamoshi appears and starts the Super Saiyan legend by attaining Super Saiyan God.
237 before Age: Umigame is born
c. 50 years before Age: Korin is born
Age 261: A storm on Namek forces the namekian Katatz to send his son away on a space ship, which will land on Earth.
Age 430: Master Roshi is born
c. Age 450: Roshi climbs Korin's tower and reaches the top.
Age 451: King Kai has an encounter with Beerus that results in his planet getting destroyed.
c. Age 453: Roshi finally retrieves the Sacred Water from Korin.
Age 461: The son of Katatz wants to become the new God of Earth, but is rejected. He splits the evil away from himself, making Kami and Piccolo Daimao. The latter wreaks havoc on Earth until he's sealed with the Mafuba by Mutaito.
Age 470: Kami creates the Dragon Balls.
Age 474: Dabura inspects the Earth in preparation for Majin Buu's revival.
c. Age 550: The first Saiyans land on Planet Plant after their original home. Sadala, is destroyed.
Age 650: Master Roshi finds the Three-Star Dragon Ball washed up on his island. The first Tenkaichi Budokai is held.
Age 658: Grandpa Gohan is born.
Age 712: Dr. Briefs founds Capsule Corp. after inventing Hoi-Poi Capsules.
Age 731: The Saiyans are annexed by Frieza and start conquering planets to sell. King Vegeta gains his title here.
Age 732: Vegeta, Launch and Broly are born.
Age 733: Bulma, Yamcha and Tenshinhan are born. King Furry is sworn in as Earth's king.
Age 736: Krillin and Mr. Satan are born.
Age 737: Goku and Chi-Chi are born.
Age 739: The Oracle Fish predicts that Beerus will meet an "enemy of threat" in 39 years, so he goes into hibernation. As well, the events of Dragon Ball - (where Goku is sent away) and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman take place. Once month after Goku is sent away, Frieza, fearing the Super Saiyan legend due to the increasing strength of the Saiyans, destroys planet Vegeta and all Saiyans except Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz, Goku and Broly.
Age 745: Senbei Norimaki creates Arale.
Age 748: Umigame gets lost whilst gathering mushrooms. As well, Bulma learns of the Dragons Balls, and starts her quest.
= Dragon Ball Manga =
Age 749: Pilaf Arc, Goku and Krillin begin their training with Master Roshi.
Age 750: Tournament Arc, Red Ribbon Arc, Baba Arc.
Age 753: Tenshinhan Arc, Piccolo Daimao Arc.
Age 756: Piccolo Jr. Arc. Videl and her future classmates are also born at this time.
Age 757: Gohan is born.
Age 761: Raditz arrives and is defeated.
Age 762: Saiyan Arc, Namek Arc.
Age 763: Krillin, Yamcha. Tien and Chiaotzu are revived by Porunga. Vegeta leaves Earth to train, while the Namekians leave to New Namek. Cell arrives from the future at this time.
Age 764: Frieza, King Cold, Future Trunks and Goku arrive. In the original timeline, Goku defeats Frieza and King Cold while Trunks never appears. In the revised timeline, Future Trunks kills them instead and gives Goku a warning of the Android's arrival and a cure for the heart virus.
Age 766: Trunks is born, while the Pilaf gang use the Dragon Balls to wish for youth, turning them to babies. In the original timeline, Goku dies of a heart virus.
Age 767: The 24th TB takes place, with Mr. Satan winning the adult tournament and Videl the junior. Androids 19 and 20 arrive. In the original timeline, they kill everyone except Gohan, Trunks and Bulma and rampage across the earth, turning it into a dystopia. In the revised timeline, the Android and Cell arcs occur.
Age 767: Goten is born.
Age 770: Krillin and 18 are wed, with Marron being born the next year.
Age 773: Supreme Kai and Kibito visit Earth to search for Majin Buu.
Age 774: Buu Arc.
= Dragon Ball Super =
Age 778: Gohan and Videl are married, and concieve Pan. Battle of Gods occurs.
Age 779: Pan is born. Resurrection 'F' and Universe 6 Arc take place, as do the present-day portions of the Future Trunks arc.
Age 780: Bulla is born, Tournament of Power Arc, Broly movie. In the original timeline, Gohan is killed by the Androids, traumatizing Trunks.
Age 784: The 28th TB takes place. Goku meets UUb and flies off to train him. In the original timeline, Bulma completes her time machine, which Trunks uses to travel back to Age 764. After defeating them he returns with knowledge to deactivate the Androids and is successful.
Age 788: In the original timeline, Trunks attempts to use the time machine to tell his friends to good news, Cell ambushes Trunks and kills him, going back to Age 763. This creates a third timeline (the one we see in the manga and anime) where Trunks has to train to defeat Cell, which allows him to kill the Androids in combat in his time, and effortlessly kill Cell when he attempts to ambush him.
Sometime before 795: In the original timeline, Trunks encounters Babidi and Dabura and kills them, preventing Majin Buu from being revived.
Age 795: In the original timeline, Black kills the Supreme Kais of each universe and the Gods of Destruction. With Zamsu, he exterminates all humans.
Age 796: In the original timeline, this is when the events of the Goku Black Arc take place. This timeline is eventually eradicated thanks to the intervention of Zeno.
According to DBS Broly, the earliest scenes took place 41 years ago, as you say and the next part took place 5 years later. At the end of the Kakarot flashback we get a counter that starts at Age 737(thus the earliest part was in 732) and fades out at 775, so like I said in the movie thread, the math doesn't add up.
Even if we took the 775 seriously and say the movie took place in that year, it's still wrong, as 41 added to 732 is only 773.
Only way it adds up is if we stretch it a bit and say "5 years" is actually 4 years and 6 months and "41 years" is 41 years and 7 months and the 737 part is close to the end of the year:
Flashback 1: Age 733, June.
Flashback 2: Age 737, December.
Present day: Age 775, January.
