Worst DB/Z/GT intros

Post by SaiyaMel » Thu Sep 04, 2008 3:08 pm

The gayest intro songs IMO...

Canadian intro for DB:

Really don't like that tune..
Portuguese (Portugal) version - DBZ:

How about yours?
Just Saiyan...

Both of those were pretty bad. The Canadian one's lyrics just flat out sucked. The Portuguese one had the most random clips.

This could have been good if the singer was better.

Oh yes, I remember that Canadian intro. I was so excited when I discovered that YTV was gonna broadcast Dragonball; everything was swell except for the strange retro feel of the dub. The whole time I watched it I just thought to myself " what in the hell? was this dubbed in the early - mid 90s? " :? I got sick of it and nabbed the FUNi Dvds shortly afterwards.

Super lollerskates @ the Portugal Z intro. Holy smokes..

Off the top of my head, the UUE intro for Z was terrible. Red everywhere with random japanese letters flying across the screen with terrible bgm. Hardcore..yeah.

*edit

Wow..how did I forget the GT op...that was a fuckin' dismal.

I always found the Canadian intro catchy, it always gets stuck in my head when I listen to it. But compared to the original Japanese version, it FAILS.

Funimation's choppy intros from the first 3 Movies...along with their later ones. Hell, the only one that didn't blow was the one for the Buu era on up.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Wow, that was seriously the English intro for GT in America?, holy crap that is awful. The only GT episodes I have seen have been in Japanese, guess I was lucky.

Those two are just plain horrible. But in the GT rap intro, where did Funi get that Red Shenron from?

Basically all the ones posted... And also, this one.

Dragon Ball GT (Blue Water dub) opening

I actually put the TV on mute when the show started every time. o_O

But I'm sort of grateful because we didn't get the rap opening. XD

Wow, that portugese one is really bad.

It's supposed to be an intro to the show, not a namek/saiyan saga montage..

At least it's all original except for the language and the text of the song.
The Portuguese intro gave me shivers down my spine due to horror.

For me, that have been raised with music from the Middle East, the Arabian intro is not that bad.
I can also add that their dub is good too, with original music and sounds, which Funimation never managed to pull out.
No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

I can't say I care too much for this opening:

French DBZ Opening
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFO74rVucd4

It sounds a lot like the Portugal one posted earlier.
The worst intro in my opinion, is Funimation's DBGT rap. But of all the languages I've heard, I think the Italian intro's one of the best.

Imagine parents watching cartoons with their kids, swithing channel, seeing the above intro, thinking that it's a great cartoon for childen.
Then it switches to the story, and we see the part when Goku and Radditz get shot through by the makankosappo.
And the parent's try to explain what just happened.

Aww come now, I like the Second FUNi intro. I can jam to it, unlike the GODAWFUL RAPPING OF GT...when has rapping in anime been appropriate?

As for the Blue Water intro, I like that too - at least it's the most faithful to the original.

When I read "Canadian Dragon Ball Intro" I thought you meant DRAGON BALL ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I would have raged on your ass :P

But of course, the worst is the GT rap. By far.
