Just an observation I made with the Advance Screenings trailer. It seems they changed some of the dialogue for the Japanese perception.

Example:
Goku: Cool
Goku [original]: Yarune
Goku [revised]: Sugoi

Piccolo also has revised subtitles for his 'with this Dragonball' speech. There's probably more, and it's not particularly important, but just a quick observation I made.

"Yaru ne" is やる with the ending particle ね. "Yaru" is a rather slang version of "ii" (いい) and can be used in several similar contexts. Basically, "not bad," "pretty good," or "cool."

I've heard Goku use "sugoi" (though, I think Ms. Nozawa's Goku pronounces it rather Goku-ishly; "sugee" or "sugei" I think? I could be wrong.) before, but not yaru ne; so I guess that means it was a good change on the part of the captioning crew.

I don't think it's that bad either. I mean, maybe if it were full-size and more detailed...but frankly, it's just a stupid and unfunny meme way more than it is anything objectionable.

I don't know one person that uses MSN messenger. Anyway, I'm pretty sure DragonBall Evolution will only end up around 3rd or 4th at the box office opening weekend here in the US. "Observe and Report", the new Seth Rogen comedy is as sure to blow it out of the water as Hannah is.

It really does not matter. Fox obviously does not care about domestic earnings. It's all about earnings in Asia, France, the U.K., and so on.

It's a smart move because there's more fans there, but also a shitty move for fans here in North America.

The movie will premiere March 10th in Japan. The cast and crew will be there and everything, so I hope we see actual English promotion in Asia... but I doubt it.
