Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary

Post by Herms » Tue Jan 20, 2009 7:39 am

----Notice:This old thread is part of my series of guides. To avoid necro-posting, please post any comments you have in the sticky thread for my guides, rather than here. Thanks!----

So as I mentioned earlier, I've got lots of random things from the daizenshuu already translated, but for various reasons it will be awhile before we'll be able to get the pages for them up on Kanzentai. So for the Daizenshuu 7 stuff, Hujio and I have decided that I'll first post each part up on the forums here. That way it won't just be sitting uselessly on my laptop for months, and you can do our proof-reading for us.

The first thing I've got is the Special Attack Dictionay, the dictionary of techniques used throughout the series. I actually did most of the work on this months ago, but finally got around to finishing it up this week.

It's pretty long (58 pages in Word), so I'll put it in the next post. First, here's a slightly updated version of the Special Attack Index, which I posted a translation of a long time ago. I've changed it to make the character and technique names consistent with the spellings we use on Kanzentai.

edit: Heck with it, here's just a link to my old thread on the Special Attack Index, which lists what techniques each specific character uses. I've updated it to be my new and improved-ish version I had here.

Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?
Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

OK, here we go. I've rearranged everything so that it's in English alphabetical order. Entries marked with * are anime-only stuff.

A
*Ability to Turn Anywhere into Water
Category: ability
People: Aqua
Special Characteristics: A technique where, no matter where he is, he momentarily generates water that envelops the area. Using this during his fight with Goku at the Anoyo-ichi Budoukai, he changes the entire ring into a giant fish tank. Aqua, the representative of the Eastern Galaxy, is unskilled on land, but in the water he utilizes unrecognizable speed and power, giving Goku a tough fight. (Daizenshuu 5, p.142)

Absorption
First Appearance: Chapter 361
Category: ability
People: Cell, Majin Buu (evil)
Special Characteristics: A technique where you absorb particular beings, making them into your own power. The first person to use this technique was First-form Cell. At that time, Cell powered up by absorbing the life energy of Ginger Town’s citizens. In Cell’s case, he absorbs people’s energy through the needle-like portion at the end of his tail. On the other hand, Majin Buu (evil)’s absorption is completely different than Cell’s. As opposed to Cell, who only acquired the power of those he absorbed, Majin Buu (evil) was also able to acquire the techniques of those he absorbed. Majin Buu (evil) absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo, using in battle Piccolo’s brain, with its calm judgment, and Gotenks’ various powerful attacks. (Daizenshuu 4, p.62)

Afterimage Sorcery
First Appearance: Chapter 455
Category: sorcery
People: Dabura
Special Characteristics: A technique that confuses the opponent by using sorcery to put out a 3-D image identical to the user. Its function is basically the same as the Zanzouken, though the method of preparing it is different. Dabura used this against Gohan during their battle in Babidi’s spaceship.

Akumaito Beam [Devil-Mite Beam]
First Appearance: Chapter 104
Category: special
People: Akkuman
Special Characteristics: A beam that expands the evil that everyone has in their heart, blowing the opponent to smithereens. After touching his fingertips to his temples and concentrating ki, he launches a swirling beam at his opponent. Those hit with the technique are wrapped in sinister light, and explode. However, this attack doesn’t affect those without an evil heart. This is Akkuman’s secret weapon that he fired in order to counter Goku’s strength, during their battle in the Devil’s Toilet, a special ring in Uranai Baba’s palace. (Daizenshuu 2, p.205)

*Analysis
Category: ability
People: Artificial Human No.15
Special Characteristics: An ability which Artificial Human No.15 displayed in the movie “Extreme Battle!!~”. Directly connected to Doctor Gero’s computer, he analyzes Goku and co.’s battle data. Reading ahead on their attacks, he made Goku and the others suffer. (Daizenshuu 6, p.96)

Antenna Beam
First Appearance: Chapter 64
Category: ability
People: Buyon, Piccolo
Special Characteristics: A technique that takes the minuscule electric current that flows inside their bodies and amplifies it in the antenna on their heads, changing it into a beam which fires at the opponent. Those hit with it receive an electric shock which numbs their body, lowering their power. It is a mysterious power that they are born with.

Arale Kick
First Appearance: Chapter 83
Category: physical martial arts
People: Arale Norimaki
Special Characteristics: An attack where she dashes with all her might, then nails her opponent with a jumping kick. Arale-chan used it in front of the Norimaki house in Penguin Village, which Goku came to in an attempt to get the dragonballs back from General Blue, who had stolen them. After being hit head on with this attack, General Blue was sent flying high into the air. Since Senbee said to “Play pro wrestler!!”, this is fundamentally the drop kick, a pro wrestling technique. However, due to the gap in ability between the person who unleashed the technique and the target, it became this frightful a technique.

Arm-Detaching Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 514
Category: physical martial arts
People: Majin Buu (pure)
Special Characteristics: A technique where he tears off one of his arms, changes it into a ball, and then with a scream of “Hyaah!” sends it flying towards the opponent at super-speed, where it begins to attack them. Able to operate his severed body part at will, he uses this unusual attack to inflict large damage on his opponent before they have time to dodge. This is a wondrous attack method that he showed in the middle of his battle of Buu against Buu, when the Majin Buu (good) was trying to stop him from attacking Mister Satan. (Daizenshuu 4, p.116)

Assimilation
First Appearance: Chapter 295
Category: ability
People: Kami, Nail, Piccolo
Special Characteristics: A mysterious power which Namekians are born with. With the goal of powering up by becoming one with an ally, they are also able to gain that ally’s memories. By deciding in advance the person who will become the post-merging body’s personality, they are able to determine whose body it will be afterwards. However, they are unable to return to being the former two people once again. In order to defeat the formidable enemies who appeared one after the other, Piccolo merged with Nail and Kami. (Daizenshuu 2, p.123/Daizenshuu 4, p.49)

Attack Deflection
First Appearance: Chapter 64
Category: ability
People: Buyon
Special Characteristics: A technique that he is capable of due to the flabby, rubbery skin that covers his entire body. It deflects all attacks. Goku had a tough battle on the fifth floor of Muscle Tower, with even his prided Kamehameha being ineffective. (Daizenshuu 4, p.70)

*Auto-Repair Ability
Category: ability
People: Metal Coola
Special Characteristics: Metal Coola, working together with the Big Gete Star’s main computer which he is connected to, soon repairs and reinforces his body when it gets destroyed. However, it seems he cannot regenerate when smashed to pieces. (Daizenshuu 6, p.88)

B
Bad Breath Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 36
Category: special
People: Bacterian
Special Characteristics: An attack where he breathes strong odors on his opponent, making them dizzy. An attack that he is able to perform due to him having not once brushed his teeth to this day. He used it during his fight with Krillin at the 21th Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Bakuretsu-Makoho [Explosive Demon Light Cannon]
First Appearance: Chapter 153
Category: ki manipulation
People: Piccolo Daimao
Special Characteristics: A ki blast with enough force to instantly turn a city into a wasteland. Piccolo Daimao announced on TV that he would use this technique to destroy one sector each year on May 9th. (Daizenshuu 4, p.111)

Bakuriki-Maha [Explosive Power Demon Wave]
First Appearance: Chapter 159
Category: ki manipulation
People: Piccolo Daimao
Special Characteristics: A technique where he grasps his fist, gathers the ki from his entire body into his hands, then fires it at his opponent. While he is accumulating ki, he produces a state of electrical discharge which creates static with the surrounding atmosphere. Because he becomes unable to defend himself during this time and leaves himself wide open, it is easy for him to be attacked by his opponent. This technique has the force to open a huge hole in the Earth, sending the person hit by it flying deep inside. He used this during his battle with Goku, and inflicted great damage. (Daizenshuu 2, p.207/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)

*Balloon Flash Bomber
Category: ki manipulation
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: A powerful technique where the offensive and destructive power of the ghosts from the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack are increased. The effects of this technique are severe, and Gotenks used it to temporarily reduce Buu’s body to ribbons.

Balloon Transformation
First Appearance: Chapter 126
Category: special
People: Krillin
Special Characteristics: A technique which Krillin used when he was about to be hit by an attack from the ground while falling through the air. Sucking up as much air as he can, he inflates his body, lowering the speed of his fall and avoiding his opponent’s attack. He used this to defend against Goku’s attack during the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Bandage Throw
First Appearance: Chapter 102
Category: special
People: Miira-kun
Special Characteristics: He throws one of the bandages that cover his body, wrapping it around an object. During his battle with Yamcha in the Devil’s Toilet, it was this technique that allowed him to escape his pinch when he was about to fall into the poisonous bog beneath the arena, by wrapping his bandage underneath one of the statues there.

Bankoku-Bikkuri-Shou [International Surprise Prize]
First Appearance: Chapter 50
Category: ki manipulation
People: Jacky Chun
Special Characteristics: A technique where he puts his hands together and concentrates his nerves, amplifying in the palms of his hands the faint electric pulse that flows through his body, and then fires at his opponent. Those hit by the attack have their body go numb from the intense electric shock, paralyzing them, and they will die like that if they do not surrender. In his entire life, Kame-sennin has only used this technique against two people. One was Goku, and the other one was Goku’s grandfather Son Gohan. It’s his ace in the hole technique, which he brought out during the finals of the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. (Daizenshuu 2, p.204)

Barrier
First Appearance: Chapter 367
Category: ki manipulation
People: Artificial Human No.17, Cell, Vegetto
Special Characteristics: A technique where they use ki to create a barrier around themselves, guarding against their opponents’ attacks. It can guard against ki attacks, as well as physical attacks such as missiles. What’s more, Vegetto succeeded in avoiding being absorbed by Majin Buu (evil). However, in order to use Barrier, they must constantly emit ki. In order to cancel out the physical attacks and ki attacks of their opponents, they must emit at least twice their opponents’ ki. It could be called natural for No.17, with his infinite energy generator, as well as perfect-form Cell, who took over that infinite energy generator, to be able use this technique. Also, you can understand how Vegetto, said to be the best in the universe in everything from the control of ki to ki strength, would be able to use it as well. However, it seems that this technique cannot guard against the attacks of those who have ki far stronger than one’s own. (Daizenshuu 4, p.113)

Barrier Sorcery
First Appearance: Chapter 465
Category: magical arts
People: Babidi
Special Characteristics: A defensive art where, raising both his hands above his head, he cries “Barrier!!” and a circular aura wraps around his body. It completely protects his body from the ki attacks fired by his opponents. It wasn’t budged at all even after being hit at extremely close range by the tremendously powerful shockwave which Majin Buu (good) fired from his entire body. However, it seems that the barrier will vanish when attacked with a physical blow, which it is weak against. Because the energy consumption rate of this art is high, he only uses it when in an extreme pinch.

Beam Eyes
First Appearance: Chapter 149
Category: ability
People: Piccolo Daimao, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Freeza,
Special Characteristics: They attack their opponents by firing a destructive beam from both eyes with a sharp glance. Its force is in proportion to the user’s power. It’s an attack that takes advantage of innate abilities.

*Becoming a Chrysalis in Order to Transform
Category: ability
People: Catapy
Special Characteristics: A technique displayed during the Anoyo-ichi Budoukai. He is able to transform into his ultimate form by creating a cocoon and becoming a chrysalis. However, he will not emerge until 1,200 years later. Naturally, he was judged to have lost the match.

Belly Fat Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 466
Category: special
People: Majin Buu (good)
Special Characteristics: Seizing his jiggling stomach flesh, he rips it off and throws it at his opponent. Then, with the magic word “Squeeze”, it wraps around his opponent’s body, rendering them unable to move. (Daizenshuu 2, p.216/Daizenshuu 4, p.116)

Big Bang Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 344
Category: ki manipulation
People: Vegeta
Special Characteristics: A ki wave which Vegeta fired at Artificial Human No.19. This technique, which easily destroyed Artificial Human No.19, could be said to be Super Saiya-jin Vegeta’s version of the Gyarik-Ho. However, the differences between it and the Gyarik-Ho are the way of firing it and the shape of the ki. First, he sticks one hand out in front, then emits a ki blast from the palm of that hand. This ki is condensed down into one big lump and can deal heavy damage inside one specific range, in contrast with the Gyarik-Ho, which attacks a wide range. After the Big Bang Attack was fired, the ground was wiped out from the spot where Artificial Human No.19 was and onward, as if it had been hollowed out. This effectiveness made it Vegeta’s strongest attack at the time. (Daizenshuu 2, p.213/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)
Anime: Vegetto used this during his battle with Buu. Even though he was going easy on Buu, it still had enough tremendous force to instantly blow Buu’s body to pieces. In “Clash!! 10,000,000,000 Powerful Warriors”, Vegeta fired this at Metal Coola at close range, but Metal Coola dodged it with Shunkan-ido. (Daizenshuu 6, p.88)

Birthing an Egg
First Appearance: 137
Category: special
People: Piccolo Daimao, Saichourou
Special Characteristics: A technique where they birth an egg from their own mouth, increasing their offspring. It’s the special characteristic of the Dragon Clan, who as Namekians are not divided into male or female. Piccolo Daimao birthed Demon Clan members who he used as his underlings, as well as a duplicate of himself engraved with his own memories, who could be called his child. Saichourou of Planet Namek birthed over 100 children in his lifetime. When birthing eggs, Piccolo Daimao chanted “Pokopen, pokopen, daare ga tsutsuita…” (Daizenshuu 4, p.49, p.50)

Birthing Cell Juniors
First Appearance: Chapter 406
Category: ability
People: Cell
Special Characteristics: This is a technique where Cell, after reaching his perfect form, creates children with the same abilities as him from out of his tail that he has to absorb life energy. Cell can freely control the number of children created. Each of the children then has roughly the same amount of power and speed as Cell. This special ability could be said to be a developed version the Namekian Piccolo’s ability to create offspring. (Daizenshuu 2, p.214)

Blood-Sucking
First Appearance: Chapter 99
Category: ability
People: Dracula Man
Special Characteristics: A technique where he takes advantage of the fact that he’s a vampire, biting into his opponent and sucking their blood. His opponent becomes anemic from the blood pouring out of their wounds, and they pass out. He used this during his battle with Krillin at Uranai Baba’s palace, and achieved victory with it.

Boar Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 490
Category: physical martial arts
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: A technique where he rushes with the force of a boar and head-butts his opponent with all his might. It was part of the continuous attacks that he brought out during his battle with Majin Buu (evil) in the Room of Spirit and Time. (Daizenshuu 4, p.114)

Body Change
First Appearance: Chapter 286
Category: special
People: Ginyu
Special Characteristics: Crying “Change!!”, he fires a dazzling light at his opponent from out of his entire body. After being covered by this light, his opponent is drawn into his body through the mouth, and they exchange bodies. In order to exchange consciousness with his opponent, the user of this technique has a ball of his consciousness invade his opponent through the mouth, and he obtains their body. It takes some time for both people to get used to their switched bodies, and during that time they are unable to freely control their power. (Daizenshuu 2, p.212/Daizenshuu 4, p.58)
Anime: Ginyu, in the form of a frog, used an animal translator to cry ‘Change!!” and switched bodies with Bulma. It seems that he can’t use the technique by shouting “Change!!” in frog language.

*Brain Crush Hammer
Category: ki manipulation
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: A technique similar to the Kienzan, the ki which he emits from his hands flies out in the form of radiation, tearing his opponent’s body to pieces. Super Saiya-jin 3 Gotenks used this in his battle after escaping from the Room of Spirit and Time, cutting Buu in half.

Category: special
People: Majin Buu (good)

Bukujutsu
First Appearance: Chapter 119
Category: ki manipulation
People: Krillin, Son Goku, Son Gohan, Son Goten, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, Videl, others
Special Characteristics: As a unique technique of the Tsuru-sen School, it seems that Tsuru-sennin is the one who thought it up. By emitting ki from the entire body, one moves as if fluttering through the air. It’s a basic ki manipulation technique, on par with the ki blast. Like Videl, anyone can do it merely be learning how to use ki. Also, Krillin and Goku learned this technique through self study. The speed the user moves through the air with Bukujutsu is related to their level of skill and the extent of their ki. Those aliens who can fly, such as Piccolo, move through the sky using the same principle as Bukujutsu. Kame-sennin never used this technique, perhaps because he had Kinto-un and Baby Gamera. (Daizenshuu 4, p.113)

C
Carrot Transformation
First Appearance: Chapter 17
Category: ability
People: Toninjinka
Special Characteristics: An ability to change all those who touches into carrots. In the Rabbit Gang’s town, nobody opposed him, for fear of being turned into a carrot. Bulma touches Tonjinka’s hand, and is turned into a carrot. (Daizenshuu 4, p.69)

Clash Ultra Buu-Buu Volleyball
First Appearance: Chapter 494
Category: combo
People: Gotenks, Piccolo
Special Characteristics: A technique that Gotenks brought out during the battle with Majin Buu. It’s unleashed by two people. To start, the first person seals the opponent up with Rapid-Fire Galactica Doughnuts and then passes them, at which point the other person returns the toss, and the first person attacks. Gotenks unleashed this with Piccolo’s assistance. However, doubt remained in Piccolo’s heart of whether his help was really necessary. (Daizenshuu 2, p.217/Daizenshuu 4, p.115)

*Combined Beam
Category: ki manipulation
People: Goku and Piccolo
Special Characteristics: Used during the battle with Garlic Jr. Because they simultaneously fire a ki bullet at extremely close range, the effect is many levels greater than usual. However, it was ultimately ineffective against the immortal Garlic Jr. (Daizenshuu 6, p.44)

Special Characteristics: A technique that Freeza used during his battle with Goku. Accumulating ki in his fingertips, he swings it down like a whip. This swung ki continues on as if crawling through the earth, cleaving the ground in two. This technique’s destructive force is tremendous, creating a deep fissure that extends far off into Planet Namek’s horizon. Such destructive force is only 50% of Freeza’s power. (Daizenshuu 2, p.212/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)

*Dead Zone
Category: ability
People: Garlic Jr.
Special Characteristics: A hyperspace created through heightened ki, which sucks in everything. It is a space which freezes even one’s body and soul, and which lets not even a streak of light escape. It the movies, Garlic Jr. generated one after being cornered by Goku and Piccolo, but through Gohan’s power he himself was sealed inside it (Daizenshuu 6, p.44). Dodonpa
First Appearance: Chapter 86
Category: ki manipulation
People: Tao Pai Pai, Chaozu, Tenshinhan
Special Characteristics: A Tsuru-sen School assassination secret weapon thought up by Tsuru-sennin. Concentrating ki in their fingertips, with a cry of “Dodon-pa!!”, they fire a thin, sharp, arrow-like ki at the opponent, inflicting damage. In order to be certain to kill the opponent in one hit, it is fired to aim at vital spots such as the heart. However, its attack range isn’t as wide as the Kamehameha, and a person with a high battle rating can stop this technique with the palm of their hands. Fusion
First Appearance: Chapter 469
Category: special
People: Trunks & Goten
Special Characteristics: The specialty technique of the people of Planet Metamor. Goku learned this art from some people from Planet Metamor who he met in the afterlife. It is an art where two humans can merge together only if their power and body size are very close, and through merging the two users give birth to a separate person who possesses power and techniques far surpassing what they had on their own. When merging, the two users must perform the Fusion pose symmetrically; this pose if very embarrassing for two adults to perform. In the story, Trunks and Goten perform this Fusion, but they fail two times because their pose is slightly wrong. When they fail at this technique, it greatly changes the body type of the resulting person, making them fat or thin, and rather than strengthening the two users, it makes them weaker. The name after merging becomes a combination of the two users’ respective names, and in Trunks and Goten’s case, they ended up named Gotenks. Furthermore, after merging, their clothes are those of the citizens of Planet Metamor. (Daizenshuu 2, p.118/Daizenshuu 4, p.116)

The technique itself doesn’t have any special force to it, but you can paralysis the opponent by having the doughnut contract around them, then inflict massive damage on them. It’s mainly used when immobilizing an opponent. (Daizenshuu 2, p.217/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)

Genki-Dama [Spirit Ball]
First Appearance: Chapter 212
Category: ki manipulation
People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: The Genki-Dama is a technique that gathers the energy held by grass and trees, humans and animals, objects and the atmosphere, and then fires it. A Genki-Dama gathered from only Kaio Planet had the destructive power to smash a super-speed brick. From this, in the case of a Genki-Dama made on Earth, if you consider the Earth’s size plus the ability to make energy from the sun your ally, it would certainly have the force to destroy a planet. However, it has the weakness that it makes you defenseless until fired. (Daizenshuu 2, p.211/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)
Anime: It was used 5 times in the movies. In “The World’s Strongest Guy”, it was a normal type gathered from the genki of everything on Earth. In “Super Decisive Battle for Earth”, it was used twice: a normal type and one made from genki gathered from the Shinseijuu. In Giran’s special fighting style, he first uses Guru-Guru Gum to rob his opponent of movement, beats them with his fat arms, and then sends them flying. In any case, it’s truly an attack that catches his opponent’s off guard, reflecting Giran’s personality. It can be called Giran’s special attack. (Daizenshuu 2, p.203/Daizenshuu 4, p.70, 116)

Gyarik-ho [Gyarik Cannon]
First Appearance: Chapter 231
Category: ki manipulation
People: Vegeta
Special Characteristics: Vegeta’s version of the Kamehameha. The difference between it and the Kamehameha is the hand position when shooting out the ki. He thrusts out the palms of his hand towards his opponent, and fires it as if pushing out the ki. The ki put out from the two palms then becomes a single powerful current. When Vegeta used this, Goku was able to negate it for the first time ever with a Kaio-Ken x4 Kamehameha. Vegeta’s power at the time was that strong. (Daizenshuu 2, p.211)

Category: ki manipulation
People: Freeza
Special Characteristics: Entrapping paralyzing power within a spherical ki, he fires it at his opponent, and once they are captured inside the ball of ki, he knocks it towards the ground at super speed. Those hit by the attack are sent flying towards the ground, unable to move their body, and they are hit by a gigantic shockwave large enough to warp the landscape. It’s a high class technique that requires a combination of psychic power and tremendous energy power, like Freeza has. He fired this technique at Goku during their battle on Planet Namek.

*Imprisonment Technique
Category: ability
People: Garlic Jr.
Special Characteristics: A technique which Garlic Jr. used when he attacked the Heavenly Realm. J
Janken [Rock-Paper-Scissor Fist]
First Appearance: Chapter 3
Category: strike
People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: One of the few special attacks that Goku had before he acquired the Kamehameha. “Guu” [rock] is a punch, “Choki” [scissors] is an eye-poke, and “Pa” [paper] is a palm slap. Sometimes he uses them separately, but there are also times when he uses them as a combo attack. What’s more, there are also times when he will feint by calling out “Guu” but doing “Paa”. Goku inherited from Kame-sennin and Grandpa Son Gohan, and it is a respected Kame-sen School technique, but he stopped using it as soon as he mastered the Kamehameha. (Daizenshuu 2 p.202/Daizenshuu 4, p.114)
Anime: In “The Legend of Shenron”, he displayed it against Yamcha. Defending with Guu, he poked Yamcha’s eyes with Choki, then attacked with Paa. (Daizenshuu 6, p.16)

Kaio-Ken
First Appearance: Chapter 226
Category: ki manipulation
People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: A technique that instantly amplifies the ki inside one’s body, multiplying all that person’s abilities, including power, speed, defense, etc. Since it makes one capable of utilizing battle power many times their own ability, it is extraordinarily effective during battles with formidable opponents. However, because it is impossible to multiply excessively far beyond one’s abilities, experimenting with an unreasonably high Kaio-Ken might destroy one’s own body. When the user’s battle power is 8,000, their limit is x2, and when they are at 3 million the limit is x10. However, since real battles are harsh, Goku often had to use Kaio-Ken above those limits. The Kaio-Ken’s designer is the North Kaio, but Goku was the first person to be able to master it. (Daizenshuu 2, p.212/ Daizenshuu 4, p.113)
Anime: The first movie it was used in was “The World’s Strongest Guy”, when it was shown during the battle with Dr. Uiro (Daizenshuu 6, p.52). In “Super Decisive Battle for the Earth”, Goku challenged Turles with Kaio-Ken x10 (Daizenshuu 6, p.60). In the movies after that, the “~x” number mark wasn’t used.

First Appearance: Chapter 14
Category: ki manipulation
People: Kame-sennin, Son Goku, Son Gohan, Yamcha, Jacky Chun, Krillin, Son Gohan (grandpa), Tenshinhan, Cell, Majin Buu (good, evil, pure)
Special Characteristics: A ki manipulation technique thought up by Kame-sennin. It is a technique that condenses ki into one point and then fires it. The technique’s force changes based on the strength of its user’s ki, and if mastered it also becomes possible to control its force. Son Goku soon picked up this technique, perhaps because of his ki training with Son Gohan (grandpa), or perhaps due to his special characteristics as a Saiya-jin. Tenshinhan also easily copied it. From this, it can be said that it is possible to use the Kamehameha merely by being able to control one’s ki. (Daizenshuu 2, p.202/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)
Anime: The first person to use it in the movies is Kame-sennin in “The Legend of Shenron”. Goku picked it up after seeing Kame-sennin’s technique (Daizenshuu 6, p.16). In “A Dangerous Pair!! Super Warriors Can’t Rest”, Goku, Gohan, and Goten implement a three-person Father-Son Kamehameha. It obliterated the formidable enemy Broli (Daizenshuu 6, p.124). In “The Rebirth of Fusion!! Goku and Vegeta”, a fake Goku that appeared in Janenba’s hand fired one (Daizenshuu 6, p.142).

Special Characteristics: A technique that Son Goten used during the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai. He fired it to counter Trunks’ ki blast. It’s the same technique as the “Kamehameha” used by Goku and the others, but the different name originated from the simple Goten saying it wrong. Trunks corrected him at the time. Also, because he still couldn’t control ki skillfully, this technique destroyed part of the martial arts temple. (Daizenshuu 2, p.215)

Looks like I hit the upper post length limit, so here's part 2.

Ki Blast [lt. “Ki Manipulation Wave”]
First Appearance: Chapter 176
Category: ki manipulation
People: Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Artificial Human No.17, No.18, Raditz, Freeza, Ginyu, Cell, Majin Buu (pure), others
Special Characteristics: A technique that materializes the body’s internal energy outside the body, shooting it off. Many warriors that appear in DragonBall use this, most prominently Goku. The way to refer to it varies by person. Throughout the story, it is mainly called things like “energy wave”, “energy bullet”, or the like, but these are all the same technique. Also, the effect and size varies based on the amount of ki used. They are divided up into two types based on shape: beam-shaped ones similar to the Kamehameha, and sphere-shaped ones similar to the Genki-Dama.
  • Ball of Light Type~

    Rapid-Fire~
    First Appearance: Chapter 183
People: Kui, Son Gohan, Son Goten, Cell, Dodoria, Piccolo, Vegeta, Vegetto, Majin Buu (good), Rikuum

    ~Rapid-Fire From the Fingertips
    First Appearance: Chapter 305
    People: Freeza, Cell
Special Characteristics: A technique that consecutively fires ki from the fingertips like a beam. The user needs to have a considerable battle rating. It was used during the battle on Planet Namek.

    Scattering~
    First Appearance: Chapter 216
    People: Krillin
Special Characteristics: Firing ki from both hands, it splits up in the air and descends to attack multiple enemies below. A technique that Krillin, enraged over Yamcha’s death, fired at Vegeta and the Saibaimen. (Daizenshuu 2, p.210/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)

    Guided Scattering~
    First Appearance: Chapter 367

Category: ki manipulation
People: Krillin, Cell, others
Special Characteristics: A technique thought up by Krillin, that changes ki into a sharp edge and then fires it. First, a rapidly rotating disc-shaped ki appears above his raised hand, and he then throws it forward. This ki’s rapid spinning cuts through the opponent like an electric saw. Krillin used this technique during the battle with Nappa. In the battle after that, even Vegeta used a similar attack. This is the same attack as the Kienzan, but Vegeta didn’t give it a name. (Daizenshuu 2, p.211/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)
Anime: In the CG produced for the Akira Toriyama exhibit, “Hyper Anime DragonBall”, Cell fired a technique similar to the Kienzan.
  • Homing~
    First Appearance: Chapter 325
    Category: ki manipulation
    People: Freeza
Special Characteristics: A Kienzan that senses the opponent’s ki and continues pursuing them. It can also be fired in a pair. It seems he imitated the Kienzan that Krillin used. Freeza used this as his final trump card during the battle on Planet Namek.

    Category: ki manipulation
    People: Krillin

Category: ki manipulation
People: Tenshinhan
Special Characteristics: The secret weapon of the Tsuru-sen School. It concentrates a kiai into one point, then releases it in a single burst. Its main difference between ki blast-type techniques is that its trajectory cannot be seen. Its destructive power is formidable enough to instantly obliterate the Tenkaichi Budoukai arena. Indeed, it is characteristic of the techniques from the Tsuru-sen School, whose objective is to mercilessly kill people. Because this technique heavily uses up one’s internal energy, it can only be used to decide the match in a single shot. (Daizenshuu 2, p.206/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)
  • Shin~ [New~]
    First Appearance: Chapter 373

Ki Saber
First Appearance: Chapter 504
Category: ki manipulation
People: Vegetto
Special Characteristics: A technique where he steadies one end of the ki he emits. Since it is ki, it can pierce through the opponent through its ability to expand and contract. Vegetto used this technique during the battle with Majin Buu. Since the ki has been stabilized, you can only use this if you constantly continue to put out ki. Because of this, this technique’s user must have formidable ki. This attack is only for Vegetto, the amalgamation of the strongest combo, Goku and Vegeta, two of the strongest in the entire universe. (Daizenshuu 2, p.217/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)

In the blink of an eye, he enters into the mouth of the butler of the human-hunting man who shot people, then explodes all at once.

Firing all one’s life energy from the palm of your hands, this creates a violent, spiraling wind which draws in the opponent, sealing them like this into an airtight container affixed with magic charms. A normal person will perish when they use this secret art. Kame-sennin fired it at the revived Piccolo Daimao in exchange for his own life, but it ultimately failed. (Daizenshuu 2, p.207/Daizenshuu 4, p.113)

*Magical Barrier
Category: ability
People: Janenba
Special Characteristics: Janenba used this to wrap up Enma’s palace. It has the ability to make Enma Daio and the others unable to utilize their power to govern the afterlife. What’s more, it absorbs and disperses the power of Goku and Paikuhan’s energy bullets. However, for some reason it broke from the effect of Paikuhan’s insult attacks. Due to Gogeta defeating Janenba, this magical barrier also vanished. (Daizenshuu 6, p.142)

First Appearance: Chapter 201
Category: ki manipulation
People: Piccolo, Cell
Special Characteristics: After losing to Goku at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai, Piccolo invented this technique after much training. It’s a technique whose purpose was to defeat Goku, but it ended up being first used during the battle with Raditz. Concentrating ki into his fingertips, he fires it out in the form of a screw. As the kind of technique that concentrates ki into a single point, its force is enough to pierce through the opponent’s body. It possesses considerable destructive and piercing power, but it has the weakness that it requires time to gather ki. Because of this, Raditz was able to read through the technique, and the first blast merely destroyed his shoulder pad. However, when fired a second time, it not only pierced through Raditz’s body, but also Goku as well, who was pinioning Raditz. This shows the incredibleness of its power. (Daizenshuu 2, p.210/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)

After entering Babidi’s spaceship with Kaioshin and the others in order to stop Majin Buu’s revival, Vegeta purposefully was taken in by this art in order to power himself up and have a showdown with Goku. It’s essentially in the same family of techniques as the Kamehameha, and only the pose for gathering ki is different. He fired it at Nappa in compensation for Piccolo, who died for his sake. However, it was easily deflected. (Daizenshuu 2, p.210)

This artificial moon is extinguished after 90 minutes. (Daizenshuu 4, p.44)
Anime: Turles, who appeared in “Super Decisive Battle for Earth”, also uses this technique. Cell inherited this ability, and could always regenerate as long as the nucleus in his head remained. In contrast to this, Majin Buu could always completely restore himself, even if he just a single piece of flesh remained, just so long as he wasn’t totally annihilated. For Cell, each time he regenerated, he bragged about having Piccolo’s cells inside him. (Daizenshuu 2, p.183/Daizenshuu 4, p.49, p.62)
Anime: In “Super Saiya-jin Son Goku”, Piccolo restores his ears, which he ripped off himself. Gohan is impressed, saying “Just as you’d expect”. (Daizenshuu 6, p.70)

Restoration Arts
First Appearance: Chapter 468
Category: sorcery
People: Majin Buu (good)
Special Characteristics: An art where by firing a beam from his tail-like horn, he heals bodies injured from battle. Not just injuries, but bodies with missing body parts are mended. He acquired this when he absorbed the Dai-Kaioshin. When Babidi was cut in two by Piccolo, he was gravely injured to the point of death, but frightened by Babidi’s threats, Majin Buu (good) restored Babidi’s body.

Restoration Power
First Appearance: Chapter 299
Category: ability
People: Kibito, Dende
Special Characteristics: A technique where one gives ki to bodies that have been injured or whose battle power has dropped from battle, restoring their power. With his dormant power released by Saichourou, Dende gathers the electricity-like ki from his entire body, and emits it from his hands. Kibito uses an ability he got from being born among the people of the Heavenly Realm, restoring people through a kiai that he sends into them (Daizenshuu 4, p. 50)

Revolving Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 44
Category: physical martial arts
People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: A technique where you spin your legs around an axis at high speeds and attack the opponent. Even the opponents’ attacks are deflected. However, it has the weakness that if you spin for too long, you will make yourself dizzy. Goku tried to force Namu out the ring with this at the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Rikuum Eraser Gun
First Appearance: Chapter 277
Category: ki manipulation
People: Rikuum
Special Characteristics: A technique where he takes a deep breath as he gathers all the ki from his entire body inside himself, strikes a cool-looking pose, then with a cry of “Rikuum Eraser Gun”, spits out a bundle of ki from his mouth all at once. It possesses such immense destructive power as to wipe away the ground, altering the shape of the planet. However, because he leaves himself wide open when he uses the technique, he is sometimes hit with counterattacks. It’s an attack which he fired in order to take Vegeta’s life, during the battle over the dragonballs on Planet Namek. (Daizenshuu 2, p.212/Daizenshuu 4, p.111)

Rikuum Kick
First Appearance: Chapter 275
Category: physical martial arts
People: Rikuum
Special Characteristics: Without fail, he will pose, call out “Rikuum Kick”, and then attack. Dashing at super speed, he nails his opponent with an intense knee kick. It’s a technique which he used against Vegeta. (Daizenshuu 4, p.114)

Rikuum Mach Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 280
Category: physical martial arts
People: Phillip Seymour Hoffmann. No wait, it's Rikuum, actually. Sorry, my mistake.
Special Characteristics: A technique where he strikes a super cool-looking pose, cries “Rikuum Mach Attack”, then performs a dashing punch against his opponent. He attacked Goku with this, but Goku dodged him with extreme ease.

*Ring-Shaped Energy Bullets
Category: ki manipulation
People: Vegeta
Special Characteristics: He binds Goku’s feet, arms, and neck to bedrock using small energy bullets which he fires from his fingertips. Vegeta used this during his battle with Goku after he had fallen under Babidi’s spell. Goku escaped by setting his ki to full throttle.

Rocket Punch
First Appearance: Chapter 58
Category: weapon
People: Artificial Human No.16, Sergeant Metallic
Special Characteristics: Aiming at his opponent, he attacks by shooting off his iron fist. It’s a very mecha-feeling method of attack. If ki blasts are chemical projectile weapons, than this could be called a physical projectile weapon. Artificial Human No.16 unleashed an intense punch against Cell, who even Piccolo couldn’t scratch after merging with Kami. In Sergeant Metallic’s case, he fired this technique at Goku on the 2nd floor of Muscle Tower, right before his battery ran out.

Rolling Attack Satan Punch
First Appearance: Chapter 453
Category: physical martial arts
People: Mister Satan
Special Characteristics: A technique where he approaches his opponent with a forward roll, then jumps up at them and performs a punch. He brought this technique out against Might Mask during the Battle Royale of the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai finals. (Daizenshuu 2, p. 215)

Rolling Thunder Punch
First Appearance: Chapter 490
Category: physical martial arts
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: While spinning his arm around and around, he nails his opponent with an intense punch right to the pit of their stomach. It’s one of the continuous stream of punching and kicking attacks which he used against Majin Buu (evil) in the Room of Spirit and Time.

Rouga Fuu-Fuu Ken [Wolf-Fang Wind-Wind Fist]
First Appearance: Chapter 8
Category: physical martial arts
People: Yamcha
Special Characteristics: A style of kenpo which the bandit Yamcha invented on his own. He moves just like a wolf trying to bite its opponent to death with sharp fangs. It’s a rapid-fire attack which uses punches and kicks, letting loose attacks which stress speed, then catching the opponent off guard to smash them with a single powerful, two-handed blow. In the land which he had marked off as his territory, he ends up in a battle with Goku and the others when he tries to take away their money and capsules, and uses this technique to knock out an empty-stomached Goku. (Daizenshuu 2, p.202/Daizenshuu 4, p.114)
  • Shin~
    First Appearance: Chapter 117
    People: Yamcha
Special Characteristics: The Rouga Fuu-Fuu Ken powered up through Yamcha’s intense training under Kame-sennin. The technique’s cut and speed had become many levels sharper than before. He brought this technique out during his match with Tenshinhan at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai, but it wasn’t very effective.
Rupturing Sorcery
First Appearance: Chapter 447
Category: magical art
People: Babidi
Special Characteristics: An art where, with a sharp gaze, he transmits his thoughts into his opponent, making the blood within them convulse. This rapidly swells their body and finally makes them rupture with a “Boh” sound. Those attacked die while screaming in agony, with contorted features that look like something not of this world. Babidi is also capable of making only a person’s head explode, like he did with the Tenkaichi Budoukai official. After obtaining powerful energy and returning to Babidi, Spopovitch was killed with this technique, having served his purpose. (Daizenshuu 4, p.117)

S
Saruken [Fist of the Monkey]
First Appearance: Chapter 49
Category: physical martial arts
People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: A kenpo style where he moves continuously like a monkey, confusing his opponent and then inflicting attacks on them. He uses scratch attacks and his tail to defeat his opponent. Goku brought this technique out during his fight with Jacky Chun. (Daizenshuu 4, p.115)

Satan Miracle Special Ultra Super Megaton Punch
First Appearance: Chapter 454
Category: strike
People: Mister Satan
Special Characteristics: The sure-to-kill punch that Mister Satan brought out during his rigged match with No.18 at the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai. Leaping at his opponent, he punches them in the face. No.18, seeing the punch’s extreme weakness, asked “This is your special attack?”. After No.18 lost on purpose, Mister Satan restated it as a new technique, the Satan Miracle Beautiful Super Bari-Bari Punch. (Daizenshuu 2, p.215)

Self-Destruction
First Appearance: Chapter 215
Category: ability
People: Saibaiman, Chaozu, Cell, Artificial Human No.16
Special Characteristics: A technique where they blow up their own bodies to inflict damage on their opponent, causing their own death. It’s used by those who have the natural ability to do so, like Chaozu, who uses his physic powers to blow up his own body. Chaozu used this to attack Nappa, but it wasn’t effective and he merely became a sacrifice. Artificial Human No.16 had a considerably powerful time bomb, but it was taken out by Dr. Brief, and this hidden power was ultimately never once used. In the case of Cell’s self-destruction, he inflates his own body like a balloon and explodes. Because this had the power to easily destroy the Earth, Goku teleported Cell to Kaio’s planet right before he exploded, protecting his friends from being caught up in the explosion. (Daizenshuu 2, p.214)

*Self-Destruction
Category: ki manipulation
People: Kami
Special Characteristics: During the battle with Garlic Jr., a losing Kami tried to use this to finish off Garlic Jr. Right as he was about to try and take Garlic Jr. down with himself, Goku and Piccolo showed up and he wasn’t able to use it. (Daizenshuu 6, p.44)

Sex Appeal Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 38
Category: ability
People: Ran-Fan
Special Characteristics: An attack that makes use of her voluptuous body, by stripping down to her underwear and overwhelming her opponent with arousal. An indecent technique that she used against the naïve Namu in the third match of the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Shape-Shifting
First Appearance: Chapter 5
Category: special
People: Oolong, Puar
Special Characteristics: A shape-shifting art which they can perform through having studied at the Southern Transformation Kindergarten. Puar can transform into anything, but Oolong can only imitate the shapes of objects, since he dropped out of school, and what’s more has a time-limit of 5 minutes to his transformations. (Daizenshuu 4, p.69)

*Shield
Category: ability
People: Gohan
Special Characteristics: A technique Gohan used during the battle with Garlic Jr. A light-emitting, semicircular barrier-shaped object surrounds him and the others, protecting them from being sucked into the Dead Zone. However, he is unable to attack as long as it is up. (Daizenshuu 5, p.43)

Shishin no Ken [Fist of Four Bodies]
First Appearance: Chapter 178
Category: combo
People: Tenshinhan
Special Characteristics: A technique that Tenshinhan used during his fight with Goku at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai. Using the body-splitting abilities that are characteristic of the Three-Eyed People, he lunges into a combo attack. He surrounds his opponent on four sides and fires ki blasts from his hands. Then, when his opponent jumps into the air to avoid the ki blasts, he fires a strange beam from his eyes. However, its weakness is that because he divided his power between four people, his attack power, defense power, and all the rest become 1/4th their usual. (Daizenshuu 2, p.208/Daizenshuu 4, p.69, p.115)

Shiyouken [Fist of Four Arms]
First Appearance: Chapter 132
Category: special
People: Tenshinhan
Special Characteristics: A unique attack technique where he forms protuberances from his shoulder blades, which he then changes into arms. Tenshinhan is the only one capable of using this technique, which is largely related to the abilities he was born with. In short, like the Shishin no Ken, this is also a technique that takes advantage of the special abilities of his ancestors, the Three-Eyed People. Tenshinhan used this technique during his fight with Goku during the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai. Unleashing an opening-free attack with his four arms, Goku wasn’t able to seize the opportunity to counterattack. (Daizenshuu 2, p.206/Daizenshuu 4, p.114)

Shockwave
First Appearance: Chapter 150
Category: ki manipulation
People: Piccolo Daimao, Piccolo, Cell, Nappa, others
Special Characteristics: This puts into practical use as a technique the shockwave, a wall of air produced when objects move through the atmosphere faster than the speed of sound. Since it doesn’t directly attack with ki, it is not a ki manipulation technique strictly speaking, but it similar to them in that it inflicts large damage on distant opponents. It inflicts damage on the enemy by producing an artificial shockwave through rapid hand movement or the emission of ki. What’s more, it is possible to fire it straight forward without concentrating power. (Daizenshuu 4, p.111)
  • Fist~
    People: Goku
    First Appearance: Chapter 171
Special Characteristics: An attack where the fist is pumped with tremendous force, unleashing a shockwave at the opponent. Goku was taught this technique by Kami-sama during his difficult training in the Heavenly Realm. During the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai, he blew Chi Chi out of the ring with this technique.

    ~From the Entire Body
    First Appearance: Chapter 229
    People: Vegeta, Majin Buu (good)
Special Characteristics: Emitting ki from the entire body, an intense shockwave annihilates everything around them. Since it consumes a high amount of ki it isn’t used often in battle, and is generally only brought out as a last great attack.

    ~From the Fingertips
    First Appearance: Chapter 302
    People: Freeza
Special Characteristics: While making strange noises, he fires bullet-like shockwaves from his fingertips at his opponent. He attacks consecutively, and the opponent is reduced to tatters before they have the time to counterattack. Piccolo fell victim to this attack.
Shockwave Cutter
First Appearance: Chapter 389
Category: shockwave
People: Cell
Special Characteristics: After reaching his perfect form, Cell used this technique to make the Cell Games grounds. Lifting up some bedrock, he sent out sharp shockwaves from his fingertips, slicing up the rock. He then made tiles of equal size, and used them as the paving stones for the Cell Games ground’s arena. Cell never used this technique in a real battle, only during this operation. Its ambience is similar to Freeza’s Daichi-Retsuzan, making it seem that perhaps this is due to Freeza’s cells inside of Cell.

*Shooting Slime through Sorcery
Category: magical art
People: Babidi
Special Characteristics: With a cry, he shoots out a slimy substance that discharges lightning. Clinging to his opponent, it seems to press tightly against them. Babidi used this against Piccolo, but Piccolo blew it away with a kiai. (Daizenshuu 5, p.172)

Shunkan-ido [Instantaneous Movement/Teleportation]
First Appearance: Chapter 336
Category: movement
People: Son Goku, Cell
Special Characteristics: A technique that Goku learned from the aliens that live on Planet Yardrat, which he visited by chance when he escaped from Planet Namek. This teleportation senses a person’s ki, then moves to where that person is. Because of this, it is impossible to move anywhere that does not have people or ki you know. Cell remembered this way of moving when he teleported with Goku. This technique is not just used for moving, but can also be included in offensive techniques. (Daizenshuu 2, p.213/Daizenshuu 4, p.113)
Anime: Metal Coola used this in the movies. But his opponent Goku used the same technique, and he battled Goku in the space they moved through (Daizenshuu 6, p.88). In “Burn Up!! A Close – Intense – Super-Fierce Fight”, Goku finished teleporting right as Krillin unleashed a punch, and was hit by it.
  • *~From the Afterlife
    Category: ability
    People: Goku
Special Characteristics: In the movie “The Galaxy at the Brink!!~”, trying to save Gohan, Goku teleported directly to the Earth from the afterlife for only a brief moment. Seeing this, Kaio broke into a cold sweat at Goku’s audaciousness. (Daizenshuu 6, p.114)
Silent Fart
First Appearance: Chapter 36
Category: special
People: Krillin, Bacterian
Special Characteristics: A great technique that feeds the opponent a champion silent fart stinky enough for anyone to despise. It’s the strongest foul-smelling technique, which Krillin used to finish off the stinky Bacterian.

Single Attack that Destroys the Earth
First Appearance: 508
Category: ki manipulation
People: Majin Buu (pure)
Special Characteristics: A technique where he levitates a gigantic spherical ki over the palm of his hand, then strikes the ground with it. Through the ki’s power, the magma within the Earth swells and explodes. This technique wiped out the Earth without leaving a trace remaining. Freeza also uses a similar technique. (Daizenshuu 2, p. 216)

Sokidan [Turning Ki Bullet]
First Appearance: Chapter 175
Category: ki manipulation
People: Yamcha
Special Characteristics: A technique that Yamcha used at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai. His match opponent at the time was Kami, who had borrowed a human body. As you’d expect, with a god as his opponent Yamcha was at a disadvantage, but for once his technique was the strongest. First, he gathers a ball of ki above the palm of his hand, then throws this at his opponent. After that, he manipulates the ki ball with his hand, with his middle and index fingers outstretched. He is able to manipulate it by having it continue moving even after burrowing underground. He also uses it as a feint. (Daizenshuu 2, p.208/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)

*Space Transference Punch & Kick
Category: special
People: Janenba
Special Characteristics: Appeared in the movie “The Rebirth of Fusion!!~”. A technique where he rains down unpredictable attacks by unleashing punches and kicks into an outside dimension, which then come out of dimensional portals which open up in different places. (Daizenshuu 6, p.142)

Category: ninjutsu
People: Sergeant Major Murasaki
Special Characteristics: An attack that takes advantage of the fact that he is part of a set of quintuplets. Whistling to summon the other four, they appear with a “Ja~an!!”. However, they are all easily defeated by Goku. (Daizenshuu 2, p.205/Daizenshuu 4, p.117)

*Springing Forth from Another Space
Category: ability
People: Janenba
Special Characteristics: A technique where his opponent’s energy bullet is absorbed into the other space that he creates between his hands, deflecting it to somewhere else. The post-transformation Janenba in the movie “The Rebirth of Fusion!!~” used it. (Daizenshuu 6, p.142)

* S.S. Deadly Bomber
Category: ability
People: Artificial Human #13
Special Characteristics: An energy bullet that automatically pursues its target, it has enough force to blow away half the Earth. It’s the special attack of Artificial Human No.13, who appeared in the move “Extreme Battle!!~”. (Daizenshuu 6, p.96)

Stretching Arms
First Appearance: Chapter 173
Category: ability
People: Piccolo
Special Characteristics: An attack that takes advantage of the unique abilities that Namekians have. It’s an attack used by freely expanding and contracting the cells in his body through his own will. His arm stretches as if he were trying to throw his raised fist, and captures distant opponents. Coming out all of a sudden, this attack surprises enemies, capturing them and then pulling them forward before they have time to dodge. However, when an opponent has seen through this technique once, it adds a chance that they can counterattack. Piccolo brought this out during his fight with Krillin at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai. (Daizenshuu 4, p.50)

Stretching Tongue
First Appearance: Chapter 65
Category: ability
People: Buyon
Special Characteristics: He stretches his tongue and wreathes it around his opponent, then carries them to his mouth like that and eats them. On the fifth floor of Muscle Tower, he used his freely expanding and contracting tongue to wrap around Artificial Human No.8, and tried to carry him to his mouth like that.

Suiken [Drunken Fist]
First Appearance: Chapter 48
Category: physical martial arts
People: Jacky Chun
Special Characteristics: A style of kenpo where he attacks the opponent by pretending to be drunk off sake. With his unpredictable movements, the opponent misses their chance to attack. He brought out this technique against Goku during the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. (Daizenshuu 4, p.115)

Sunlight Reflection
First Appearance: Chapter 125
Category: special
People: Krillin
Special Characteristics: A technique where he uses his shiny shaved head to reflect sunlight, blinding his opponent’s eyes. He attacks while his opponent’s eyesight still hasn’t returned. This is an attack he brought out during his fight with Goku at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Super Dodonpa

*Super Flexible Body
Category: ability
People: Misokattsun
Special Characteristics: With his body being flexible like a rubber ball, he absorbs Goku’s punches and knocks back Kame-sennin’s Kamehameha. He was unable to absorb Goku’s attack after Goku used the Kaio-Ken. (Daizenshuu 6, p.52)

Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 490
Category: ki manipulation
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: An offensive technique that he acquired during his training in the Room of Spirit and Time. Spitting out ectoplasm-shaped ki, Gotenks creates doppelgangers of himself. This ki possesses its own consciousness, and can move on its own in obedience to Gotenks’ orders. Gotenks called this ki a ghost. In general this is a guided-type ki manipulation technique, but it shows a completely unique evolution, and even Piccolo couldn’t hide his surprise at this technique’s unexpectedness and effect. This technique was created from Gotenks’ childish ideas, but its force when it comes to actual fighting can be said to be that of a considerably high level technique. As you’d expect of Goku and Vegeta’s children, they discovered their own new and unique way of using ki. (Daizenshuu 2, p.217/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)
Anime: In “The Rebirth of Fusion!! Goku and Vegeta”, up to 100 ghosts appear together.

Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack 10 Ghost Finish
First Appearance: Chapter 491
People: Gotenks, Majin Buu (evil)
Special Characteristics: A strengthened version of the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack. A technique where he puts out 10 ghosts, which consecutively attack the opponent. Like the original technique, each ki has its own consciousness. However, because Majin Buu (evil) saw through the attack, Gotenks had to use a petty method of using the technique where he used his opponent’s curiosity to entice him. Immediately afterwards, he easily revives. These ghosts are scatterbrained, perhaps because they have personalities similar to Gotenks. After consulting with Gotenks, two of them, happy over their perfect strategy, forget themselves and grip their hands together, causing them to self-destruct. (Daizenshuu 2, p.88, p.217/Daizenshuu 4, p.112)

Super Giant Body Arts
First Appearance: 186
Category: ability
People: Piccolo
Special Characteristics: A technique where, taking advantage of the abilities of his race, he is capable of concentrating the nerves throughout his entire body, invigorating the cells throughout his body. When he becomes gigantic, he lets out a scream of pain due to the excessive additions to his body. Where this technique excels is that even though he becomes gigantic, his speed doesn’t change. However, though the offensive power of his blows is great, his target is small, making it difficult to attack. A technique he brought out during the finals of the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai after losing his temper over his inability to win. (Daizenshuu 4, p.50)
Anime: In “Super Saiya-jin Son Goku”, the Super Namekian Slugg used the same technique. (Daizenshuu 6, p.70)

*Super Magical Barrier
Category: ability
People: Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon Clan
Special Characteristics: A technique brought out by the Demon Clan Four Heavenly Kings, Gashew, Sald, Taad, and Bineger. A red thread from their hands entangles their opponent, making them unable to move. Mister Popo and Kami were captured by this technique.

Super Saiya-jin
First Appearance: chapter 317
Category: ability
People: Son Goku, Son Gohan, Son Goten, Vegeta, Trunks, Gotenks, Vegetto, Broli
Special features: The ultimate Saiya-jin warrior that surpasses the limits of a regular Saiya-jin. Originally, the existence of this form outside of legend was doubted even among Saiya-jin. In reality, any Saiya-jin that posses a high battle power above the standard level is capable of becoming a Super Saiya-jin. Possessing a calm heart, sensing extreme danger, feeling strong anger or sadness, or a danger to the Saiya-jin race itself seem to be states that are the essential keys to transforming. In addition to the outward signs of the transformation such as an aura, golden hair that stands straight up, and sharp, hawk-like eyes with emerald-green pupils, a battle power 50 times that of normal are proof of the legendary mightiest warrior.
Anime: In the anime, the Super Saiya-jin's distinctive golden aura was represented with special effects known as brush processing and permeation light (Daiezenshuu 5, p.104). The legendary Super Saiya-jin Broli debuted in “Burn Up!! A Close – Intense – Super-Fierce Battle” and appeared in 3 movies. Perhaps this instinct-driven form is the true Super Saiya-jin, which the legend says will “Love destruction and slaughter” (Daizenshuu 6, p.106).
  • ~Second Grade
    First Appearance: chapter 377
    People: Son Goku, Trunks, Vegeta

    ~Third Grade
    First Appearance: chapter 386
    People: Son Goku, Trunks
Special features: This form is capable of drawing out immense power, inflating muscles to the limit. However, this kills speed and movement becomes sluggish; on top of that, the burden on the body is also great.

    ~2
    First Appearance: chapter 408
People: Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta, Gotenks
Special features: This form has power that surpasses Super Saiya-jin in all ways. Gohan naturally transformed into this form from his anger at Cell's brutal actions, while Goku and Vegeta learned it from harsh training.

    -3
    First Appearance: chapter 474
    People: Son Goku, Gotenks
Special features: The strongest form of Super Saiya-jin, which draws the hidden power of a Saiya-jin out to its limits. However, due to the large energy consumption of this form, outside of the afterlife one can only stay transformed for a limited amount of time
*Super Speed Dash
Category: physical martial arts
People: Tapika

Taiyou-Ken [Fist of the Sun]
First Appearance: Chapter 124
Category: ki manipulation
People: Tenshinhan, Krillin, Son Goku, Cell
Special Characteristics: A Tsuru-sen School technique. Tenshinhan first used it during his fight with Goku at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai [he actually first uses it against Jacky Chun]. Gathering ki in his upper body, he converts it to light energy and radiates it out in front of his face. Blinding the opponent’s eyes, this is used when retreating from battle. The amount of light is connected to the strength of the person’s ki, and the light source will become stronger the more ki the user has. The first person from outside the Tsuru-sen School to use this technique was Goku. (Daizenshuu 4, p.113)

Tatami Mat Flip
First Appearance: 61
Category: ninjutsu
People: Master Sergeant Murasaki
Special Characteristics: Ninjutsu where he vigorously seizes a tatami mat and flips it over, protecting his body from his opponent’s attacks. He protected himself from the shuriken Goku threw in the 4 ½ tatami mat hut on the fourth floor of Muscle Tower. (Daizenshuu 2, p.205)

*Telekinesis
Category: ability
People: Janenba
Special Characteristics: Janenba uses this in the movie “The Rebirth of Fusion!!~”, during his battle with Goku. Using telekinesis to move the multicolored round objects floating in Hell’s sky, he attacks by dropping them one after the other onto Goku’s head. It seems that he controls the telekinesis through his hand movements.

Telepathy
First Appearance: Chapter 212
Category: ability
People: Kaio, Kami, Saichourou, Son Goku, Dende, Nail, Piccolo
Special Characteristics: Most cases of this are of a natural, unique ability possessed by a particular race. Talking directly into the other person’s mind, they are able to have a conversation without using their voice. In Kaio’s case, he serves as an antenna, allowing two people who don’t have telepathic abilities to have a conversation. In the case of Namekians, they can have a conversation with any other member of their race. Also, Goku utilized a mysterious power where he sent messages from the afterlife that only Gohan could hear. (Daizenshuu 4, p.44, p.49)

Tenku Pekeji-Ken [Heavens X-Mark Fist]
First Appearance: Chapter 44
Category: physical martial arts
People: Namu
Special Characteristics: A special attack invented by Namu. Jumping high into the air, he crosses his arms and rapidly falls, charging at his opponent. With the acceleration from his fall increasing his body weight many times over, without decelerating he cross-chops his opponent in the throat. Those hit by this attack cannot awaken for ten days. To unleash this technique, the kind-hearted Namu closes his eyes in midair in order to get rid of distracting thoughts and concentrate his mind, making his heart like an ogre’s. He unleashed it on Goku, who was passed out from dizziness, at the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. (Daizenshuu 2, p.203/Daizenshuu 4, p.114)
  • Chou~ [Super~]
    First Appearance: Chapter 45
    Category: ki manipulation
    People: Namu
Special Characteristics: A technique where, jumping higher up into than sky than during the Tenkuu-Pekeji-Ken, he rapidly descends towards his opponent. With the speed from his descent being adding in, this produces destructive power many times greater. But his attack is seen through by his opponent, and he is attacked from beneath after his opponent lies in wait for him.
Tentacle Attack
First Appearance: Chapter 76
Category: ability
People: Giant Octopus
Special Characteristics: An attack where he wreathes his sucker-laden long tentacles around his opponent, then strikes them against the surrounding wall. The attacked person has a shock run through their entire body, and loses consciousness. A technique he uses in the pirate’s cave when he captured Goku and tried to eat him.

*Thunder Flash
Category: ki manipulation
People: Paikuhan
Special Characteristics: It defeats the enemy by attacking them with flames that burn with dazzling light. A technique he used against Goku in the finals of the Anoyo-ichi Budoukai. As Paikuhan’s ultimate secret weapon, even Goku had to use all his might to endure it. However, Goku took advantage of the unguarded moment when the technique is fired to launch a Kamehameha and achieve a turnabout victory. (Daizenshuu 5, p.145)

*Tickling Attack
Category: physical martial arts
People: Catapy
Special Characteristics: A technique Catapy used during the Anoyo-ichi Budoukai, with Goku as his opponent. It’s a technique where all he does is pinion his opponent with his 10 arms, then tickle them. With that being its effect, it is easily broken through.

Time Stop
First Appearance: Chapter 273
Category: special
People: Gurudo
Special Characteristics: Gurudo’s unique technique. Using his physic powers, he is able to stop time. Using this, he can stop his opponent’s movement when they launch attacks, avoid attacks, hide himself somewhere, and conceal himself from his opponent. However, this technique has some weaknesses. First, he cannot stop time for a very long period. Also, the stamina this consumes is intense, and if he uses it continuously he will use up all his power. However, it seems this is because Gurudo’s power is low. (Daizenshuu 4, p.58)

Tongue Stab
First Appearance: Chapter 85
Category: physical marital arts
People: Tao Pai Pai
Special Characteristics: A preposterous technique where he pokes his strengthened tongue into his opponent’s temple. When Tao Pai Pai was called to Red Ribbon Army Headquarters on commission and fought General Blue, he used this technique to defeat him in one blow.
Anime: In “Great Mystical Adventure” as well, he pierces through General Blue’s temple. Afterwards, he wipes his tongue on a handkerchief. (Daizenshuu 6, p.32)

Transfiguration Beam
First Appearance: Chapter 464
Category: ability
People: Majin Buu (good), Majin Buu (evil)
Special Characteristics: A technique where he changes his opponent’s form by firing a special beam from the tail-like antenna on his head. Since he transforms his opponent into what he imagines in his mind, mostly he changes people into his beloved candy. He’s not limited to just transforming one person at a time, but can transform large numbers of people all at once, like when he turns everyone in a large city into candy all at the same time. Apart from this he uses it for various other things, such as turning the people of a town into clay to build his house with, or turning Chi Chi into an egg. (Daizenshuu 4, p.62)

Transforming Ability
First Appearance: Chapter 263
Category: ability
People: Zarbon, Freeza
Special Characteristics: The ability to transform at will. After transforming, their battle rating increases immensely. The number of transformations varies by race, according to the abilities held by the transforming-type aliens. In Zarbon’s case, he only transformed a single time, powering up by going from his normal, beautiful form and turning into an unimaginably ugly monster. The strength of that monster far surpassed Vegeta. In Freeza’s case, he went as far as a fourth form, and in his short final form he displayed unpredictable power to Goku and the others. (Daizenshuu 4, p.58)

U
Ultra Miracle Parfait
First Appearance: Chapter 490
Category: physical martial arts
People: Gotenks
Special Characteristics: A rapid-fire attack that uses many punches and kicks. It’s a technique that Gotenks brought out during his battle with Majin Buu (evil) in the Room of Spirit and Time. It’s part of his combo of diverse attacks.

And part 3. The end.

W
Water-Escape Arts
First Appearance: Chapter 60
Category: ninjutsu
People: Master Sergeant Murasaki
Special Characteristics: Ninjutsu where he disappears by hiding in water. He breathes by sticking a small bamboo pipe out of the water’s surface. During their battle on the fourth floor of Muscle Tower, Goku broke through this technique by pouring boiling water into the bamboo pipe sticking out from the lake.

Water Strider Arts
First Appearance: Chapter 62
Category: ninjutsu
People: Sergeant Master Murasaki
Special Characteristics: Ninjutsu where you walk on the surface of water by wearing round floating boards under your feet. This technique cannot be used without an exceptional sense of balance. Murasaki used it during his famous battle with Goku on Muscle Tower’s fourth floor. (Daizenshuu 4, p.117)

*Whistling
Category: special
People: Son Gohan
Special Characteristics: This was originally the whistling he did while dancing around with Hire Dragon, but it is a sound that Namekians are weak against. It not only irritated Piccolo, but was able to temporarily render Slugg powerless. (Daizenshuu 6, p.70)

*Wound Healing
Category: ability
People: Piccolo
Special Characteristics: The power to heal wounds by touching the wounded body part. After being bitten by Yamcha and the others, who had turned into Demon Clan members due to the Aqua Mist, Piccolo pretended to have returned to being a member of the Demon Clan. But afterwards, he used this power to make the wounds on his bitten neck disappear.

Y
Yoiko-Min-Min-Ken [Good Kid Sleep-Sleep Attack]
First Appearance: Chapter 49
Category: special
People: Jacky Chun
Special Characteristics: A technique where he nails his opponent to the spot with his keen eyes, then lures them to sleep by singing a song. During the finals of the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai, he lures Goku to sleep in an attempt to win the championship. (Daizenshuu 2, p.204/Daizenshuu 4, p.117)

Z
Zanzouken [Afterimage Attack]
First Appearance: Chapter 43
Category: physical martial arts
People: Jacky Chun, Son Goku, Krillin, Piccolo
Special Characteristics: A technique brought out by Jacky Chun at the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. It is a technique where he leaves an afterimage by moving rapidly, in order to throw off his opponent’s attack. Like the Kamehameha, Goku was able to master this technique merely by seeing it. Piccolo also used this technique during his fight with Krillin. After Krillin was fooled by the decoy afterimage, and knocked Krillin down from behind his back. This became the decisive blow, and Krillin surrendered to Piccolo. Perhaps Piccolo acquired this technique as a result of whole-heartedly training to defeat Goku. However, it is also very possible that this was a technique that Piccolo acquired during his time as a martial artist, before he split up. (Daizenshuu 2, p.203/Daizenshuu 4, p.116)
  • 2-Fold~
    First Appearance: Chapter 48
    People: Jacky Chun
Special Characteristics: A technique that confuses the opponent by putting out two afterimages. Even if the opponent sees through the first afterimage, they will be fooled by the second one and attack it. While they’re aiming for it, Jacky hits them with his attack. (Daizenshuu 2, p.203)

    3-Fold~
    First Appearance: Chapter 48
    People: Son Goku
Special Characteristics: It puts out three afterimages to confuse the opponent. During the finals of the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai, Jacky Chun attacked the third Goku, but because it was an afterimage, he was hit with Goku’s attack from straight above. (Daizenshuu 2, p.203/Daizenshuu 4, p.116)

    Many-Fold~
    First Appearance: Chapter 123
    People: Jacky Chun, Son Goku
Special Characteristics: Putting out afterimages as if to surround the opponent, he makes it so that the opponent can’t tell which direction he will attack from. This was used against Tenshinhan at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai. (Daizenshuu 4, p.116)

Again, that's a lot of info.

I notice that it doesn't mention Kaio-sama using Shunkan-ido (or whatever version he used). It was only filler, but it's interesting that the guide doesn't make note of it.

Speaking of proof reading, under assimilation you've written, "However, they are unable to return to being the formal two people once again." Should that be former instead of formal?

There are a few omisisons. It does seem that they're a lot less thorough with the anime.

Yeah...Like I said earlier, I did most of this during the summer, so I don't remember just how long it took though.

Ah, thanks. I've got that fixed.

Thank you so much for doing this for everyone. :D

Oh, a note on kikouha, the Japanese term for "ki blast". I have this down as meaning "ki manipulation wave", but to be technical, what it means is "Qiqong wave", Qiqong being the art of manipulating ki.

This one reads a bit weird to me too.
Majin Buu (evil) absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo, using in battle Piccolo’s brains, with their calm judgment
Is the way this is worded a reference to the fact that Piccolo has the combined minds of 3 people?
Anime: In the CG produced for the Akira Toriyama exhibit, “Hyper Anime DragonBall”, Cell hired a technique similar to the Kienzan.
Hired should be fired maybe? Oh, same with the line under Restoration arts.
An art where by hiring a beam from his tail-like horn
Some other interesting things:
It could be called natural for No.17, with his infinite energy generator, as well as perfect-form Cell, who took over that infinite energy generator, to be able use this technique.
This line is very interesting. It's the first time I've heard that Cell really does use the infinite energy generators, which would explain a lot when it comes to his energy supplies.
It’s the special characteristic of the Dragon Clan, who as Namekians are not divided into male or female.
Does this mean if all the dragon clan Namekians died, the race would go extinct? Is this ability really limited to dragon clan only?
Having been hit once with the Nyoibo by Goku, Tonjinka returns Bulma to her original form, and then is carried to the moon.
Didn't Roshi blow the moon up soon after this? Poor guy...
Anime: In “The Dangerous Pair! Super Warriors Can’t Rest”, Goten pretended to cry, and because of this Broli awakened.
Haha...crocodile tears.
Flight
First Appearance: Chapter 1
Category: ability
People: Giran, Cymbal, Artificial Human No.16, Artificial Human No.19, Artificial Human No.20, Tambourine, Pteranodon
Special Characteristics: An ability where they use wings on their back or anti-gravity devices inside their bodies to freely fly through the air, independent of ki power.
This makes it sound like 17 and 18 really do use ki of some sort, since they're not mentioned.
This penetrates into the heart crevices of those with evil hearts, putting them under Babidi’s control, and at the same time drawing that person’s hidden power out beyond their limits.
Herms, do you know exactly what it means by drawing a person's hidden power out 'beyond their limits'? How does it differ from just drawing a person's hidden power out? Does it mean it increases it further?

Edit: Edited all this to make it easier to follow.

And this is why I have you quoted in my signature.

You could all learn a lesson from Herms, please me and join the pantheon of those who have been immortalised at the bottom of my posts.

Anyway stupidity aside, fantastic job, I'm actually considering collecting some of the stuff you've done here and on Kanzentai and printing and binding them into books at work to go along with my Daizenshuu.

This would be strange as then the Artificial Humans could easily be sensed by the others.

Nah, I was just thinking that "brains" can be used even when refering to one person, but it does sound pretty weird when in this case. I changed it, and fixed the other things you mentioned.

Well, it doesn't mention them under Bukujutsu either, so it's kind of a wash.

I don't really know any more than you. I've always assumed it was stronger than simply drawing it out to their limits, and Elder Kaioshin did take a lot of pride in his ability to do this, so it must be special.

Good point.

Ah, it does make sense if you read it that way. It was the part about 'their calm judgment' that made it sound odd I think.

Hmm, I was thinking about it (I always think too deeply about the mechanics of fictional elements  ) and came up with a theory. I figure a character probably has a physical capacity (how much ki their body can 'hold' so to speak) and a mental/spiritual capacity, how much of their potential ki they can 'draw out', potential ki being more imaginary than tangible, ki that hasn't been brought into existence yet.

In Saichourou's case it might be something like, their body has then capacity for more power, but mental, emotional and spiritual blocks prevent them from drawing their full potential out to fill that capacity. His unlocking would basically remove those blocks and let them use their bodies to their fullest potential. It's not a transformation, it's more like spiritual maintenance.

Rou Dai Kaioshin's one on the other hand draws all of your hidden ki out to it's maximum, even changing your body's capacity in the process to let it all come out. In that respect it's more similar to a Super Saiyajin style transformation, but without the drawbacks.

OK, I've got a question for you all. Currently, I've just got the technique names in either English for names that are translated, or in romanizations for the ones that are left as-is. When this eventually goes up on Kanzentai, would you want me to include the original Japanese for the name (ie the kanji/kana), with the romaji for that? So for instance the entry for the Kamehameha would start like this:

Kamehameha
かめはめ波/kamehameha
Category: ki manipulation
Etc.

Having the romaji after the kana/kanji might seem kind of pointless for stuff like the Kamehameha, but it could be helpful for the purely descriptive technique names. For instance:

Ability to Turn Anywhere into Water
どこでも水に変えてしまう能力/doko demo mizu ni kaete shimau nouryoku
Category: ability
Etc.

What do you think?

Do you also have the guide in the order that it appears in the book?

Or do you guys know what order it would be in when put up on Kanzentai?
