Best moments for each character

Post by WesMan23 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 3:05 pm

I didn't see a recent topic on this. What, in your opinion, are some moments in the series where the characters had shining moments? Fights or otherwise.

For Goku, it's a toss-up between his first SSJ transformation, just because of how unbelievably pissed-off he was. We had never seen him so furious, to the point where he wasn't sure he could even hold himself back against his own son, and the other moment is his SSJ3 transformation, just because of how epic the build-up was, it was really made of pure awesome.

Gohan's best moment, other than his obligatory SSJ2 transformation, was probably his pounding of third-form Freeza, and even final form Freeza on Namek. Sure, Freeza had powered down from 100%, but Gohan was still able to beat the tar out of him for just a brief moment. His rage boosts are always awesome to me.

Vegeta, also a toss up. First is when he becomes SSJ, and trounces C-19 effortlessly. That really showcased some major badassery for Vegeta, well before 18 made him her bitch. Second is Majin Vegeta at the Tenkaichi Budokai, partly because of the line, "tell me, is it slavery when you get what you want?" The way it was spoken was great.

Piccolo's fight with #17 was pretty awesome, and also, his fulfillment of killing Goku at the beginning of Z.

Trunks' best moment would have to be his introduction. He completely annihilates Freeza and Cold without breaking a single sweat, completely keeping his cool. (no pun intended).

Yamucha's best moment is probably when he doesn't die. Actually, being able to fight off Oozaru Goku in original DB.

Tenshinhan, probably holding off Cell. That was pretty cool. Even if he wasn't doing any real damage, he still put up a heck of a fighter considering how outclassed he was.

Kuririn's best, to me, was killing off pretty much all the rest of the Saibaimen in one shot.

What do you think?
"You haven't figured it out yet? I'm the Saiyan who came all the way from Earth for the sole purpose of beating you. I am the warrior you've heard of in legends, pure of heart and awakened by fury. That's what I am. I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN, SON GOKU!" - Goku, Dragon Ball Z Kai, The Angry Super Saiyan! Throw Your Hat in the Ring, Son Goku!

For Goku: His rage when Krillin died in Dragonball. The way he ran out and the tears of rage was nice effect. His hair and tail spiking up was epic.

Gohan's best moment: Pounding Freeza's 2nd form

Vegeta: Everyone Majin Vegeta scene

Piccolo's: Laughing at Mr.Satan when he was called Champ

Trunks: Turning SSJ for first time and Turning SSJ against Freeza with Battle Point Unlimted

Yamucha's: Wolf Fang Fist on Goku in Path of Power

Tenshinhan: Breaking Yamcha's leg

Kuririn's: Through failed. When he attacked Cell for eating 18

Goten and Trunks(Aka Gotenks): Being absorbed

18: Kissing Krillin

17: Fight with Piccolo

16: Speech to Gohan

Cell: Killing Trunks

All of the Boos: Their rage moments

Roshi: Original pervert moment with Bulma

How about some of the lesser characters, hm?

Master Roshi - The first time he did the Kamehameha wave at Fire mountain.
Bulma - When she wore the Bunny suit.
Chichi - Her first apperance at the 23rd tournament.
Lunch - Anytime she sneezes.
Oolong - When he transforms into a giant bull.
Ox King - His first appearance in the manga.
Chiaotzu - When he sacrificed himself.

Puar: When he transforms into plump Bulma, when he transformed into a mat
Umigame: When he uses the branch to make Lunch sneeze
General Blue: A tie with defeating Kuririn and screaming at the sight of a mouse
Robot Guard in the pirate cave: Years and years of endless glory
General Black: His alleged lip reduction.
Mr. Popo: Training Goku, scarring children for years to come
Kame Sennin: Training Goku, seeing Bulma's boobies
Kaio: Training Goku, driving his car
Tao Pai Pai: When he created his marketing plan increasing his profits, defeating General Blue
Yamcha: Being badass with his Sokidan (Saibaimen don't count).
Tenshinhan: His fight with Goku (he didn't even remotely fight anyone after that, Saibaimen don't count).
Kuririn: Getting his first kiss (really, I believe it was his first and last. How did Marron get born you ask? Artificial insemination. By another man as the donor. Presumably Kuririn's taller brother).
Chao-zu: Pretty much being able to stay alive after each fight. Apart from his last.
Goku: His several attempts of abandoning his family, defeating all but two of his opponents.
Gohan: Managing to stay sane through all the shit he has gone through. Being the most badass SSJ2.
Vegeta: Staying true to his delusions that being a Saiya-Jin prince counts for jack. Becoming Super Vegeta. His self-sacrifice.
Piccolo: Everything but him being scared of Kaioshin.
Dr. Brief: Getting it on with Bulma's hot mom
Bulma: One night standing Vegeta, being badass and wanting to see Freeza, creating the Dragonball radar
Chi-chi: Being a reasonable and caring mother with a cool temper.

Main heroes:

Goku- Punching King Piccolo through the chest.
Piccolo- Blasting a hole through Goku and then crippling ALL of his limbs, so as not to repeat his father's mistake.
Vegeta- In general, pulling himself out of a crater after a particularly brutal beating by Kid Buu and taunting him, which actually causes Kid Buu to take a step back in shock at this guy who just won't stay down. In the manga specifically, stunning Super Perfect Cell, letting Gohan finish him off.
Gohan- Killing Cell. No duh.
Krillin- In general, standing up to Super Buu to buy everyone else time, proving that he has the largest balls of steel in the show. In the manga specifically, cutting off Freeza's tail.
Tenshinhan- Either stalling Semi-Perfect Cell or pwning Cyborg Tao.
Yamcha- His first fight with Goku.
Mr. Satan- Befriending Fat Buu.
Future Trunks- Punching Vegeta in the face or stomping the androids in his timeline.

Minor characters:
Roshi- Blowing up the moon.
Bulma- Building a motherfucking time machine.
Yajirobe- Launching two sneak attacks on Vegeta and living to tell the tale.
Chiaotzu- Uh... he beat Guldo, didn't he? I guess that.

Villains:
Tao- Killing General Blue WITH. HIS. TONGUE.
King Piccolo- Either killing Shenron or beating Goku so badly that his heart stops.
Vegeta (yes, they're two different characters)- Getting right back up after being hit with both the x4 Kamehameha AND the Spirit Bomb, and proceeding to spend the rest of the fight kicking Goku in the ribs.
Freeza- His legendary beatdown of Vegeta, which ends with Vegeta crying "like a little bitch".
Cell- One-shotting Gohan, Trunks, and Vegeta in seconds, all without any effort at all, after becoming SUPER PERFECT.
Fat Buu- Annihilating Majin Vegeta.
Kid Buu- Beating the crap out of Goku and then mocking him by doing stupid dances. Either that or actually blowing up the Earth.
Super Buu-
-Base- The Human Extinction Attack.
-Buutenks- Taunting Gohan will beating him down in the anime. The manga just didn't have the same punch to it. Also, his high five to Gohan.
-Buuhan- Doing something unique: even though he had the upper hand and knew that a fusion of Goku and Vegeta couldn't beat him (he just wasn't counting the Potara to be so much stronger than the dance), he still went out of his way to make sure they couldn't. Savvy guy there.
-Buuccolo- Revealing exactly why he didn't regenerate his head tentacle...

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Probably because he could've just grabbed Gohan and thrown him out of the way, or kicked Nappa.

Well I said "Everything but him being scared of Kaioshin" so that should include his sacrifice.
Piccolo is by far the most badass character. All his moments (but one) are his best moments.

Standing on a rocky hill
Gazing at the sun...it shines but for him
Contemplating his fate and the reason of his existence
Nothing but badassery, pure unadulterated badassery
The unnamed son of Katatz, probably named Badatz
Sneaking up on gatherings, no one will notice him
Oh is that you Piccolo, we didn't see you there?
Makankōsappō, Gekiretsu Kōdan!
Oh Mr. Pikkoro...

I am only assuming this, based on several very probable factors:

1. Dr. Brief clearly has maintained a strong libido going by his extensive porn stash (which was unfortunately lost in the hands of Bulma).
2. Bulma's mom is hot.

1 + 2 = Getting it on, synonymous with Boom china ow wow.

Plus, off series anyway, Bulma was once made somehow. Gotta give it to the man.

The best Piccolo moment is his bizarre, incomprehensible plan to rescue Goku from #19.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Yamcha-Using the Spirit Ball for the first time against Kami/Hero
Tenshinhan-Shin Kikoho against Cell
Krillin-The filler only battle against Cell. I guess hooking up with 18 offscreen is worth a mention.
Piccolo-Whenever he uses Clothes Beam.
Goku-Using the Instant Transmission Kamehameha on Cell
Gohan-Killing all the Cell Jrs.
