I am not sure if they care much about that.. gohan probably does but nobody else has a "I absolutely neeed to keep it a secret, it's for my family!" complex..

Because they were there with him.
People already saw them at the Cell games and knew what they looked like, all Yamacha has to do is tell the world that those are his friends that were there for support or something. Mr. Satan had hero worship to the point he could tell the people anything I don't see why Yamcha wouldn't as well.
