Can we make a rule out of them?
Kaioken used to add its own shade of magenta to Goku's dark hair, as an aura that grew outside of his own body, but I can't remember if it did the same to his SSJB hair. Its color combination with cyan was killer, and I would dare say that the main transformation ruled over the addition, like Trunks' aura was flared up to grow another from the inside. It didn't change his hair color, so there could be one rule for creation purposes, in case you wanted to join a new trend.
The hypothetical rule is that the power up shows up from the inside or the outside with an aura while the transformation keeps the hair color. There could be a perfect blend or an even combination. What do you think?
