Most ridiculous thing in DragonBall?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

What is BY FAR the most ridiculous thing you ever viewed or heard from anywhere of the franchise?

The most ridiculous thing in Dragon Ball is the constant "if your name isn't Goku, you won't do anything that special or your screentime will be low" and the fact that they keep bringing back characters when they don't need to return instead of bringing back someone who actually need to be back.

Honorable mention: The appearance of a (bad) movie villain into the main series.

People who say episodes without any fighting are "boring" or "filler" even if those same scenes are in the manga. Some people have no clue what the Dragonball franchise is actually about.

The first wish Oolong can think of is panties.

Beerus ordering the destruction of planet Vegeta. This ruins the Freeza Arc storyline to me rather than add to Beerus lore.

28 planets as mentioned.
Currently watching: My Hero Academia

Last watched: Akame Ga Kill, Hokuto No Ken, Hokuto No Ken 2, Hunter X Hunter

I don't think it would be possible to pinpoint what the most ridiculous thing in Dragon Ball would be. Because Dragon Ball is a story that is built off of nonsense and some of the most major and famous moments happen only because of how nonsensical the setups are.

EDIT: Fuck it. The Genki Dama Sword.

Roshis shitty stupid comeback having implied to surpass Yamcha/Chaozu.

Distant ones after that are Bulma shacking up with Vegeta and there being only 28 inhabited planets.

Freeza had a whole army conquering them and didn't get them all between wiping out most saiyans and the freeza saga.....

Characters being less smart than us nerds when it comes to planning their time, use the rosat+whis staff and elder kai etc etc.
Yamcha almost certainly did not cheat on Bulma:
He was afraid of Women, Bulma was the flirty one.
Yamcha wanted to get married (it was his gonna be his wish)
He suggested they settle down in the Trunks saga.
Alternate future Trunks is not a reliable source.
Toriyama wanted new SSJ Kids and not make new characters.

Freeza isn't a (bad) movie villain.

But, if I were to pin point what is the most ridiculous thing in Dragon Ball... I would say the inconsistent strengths shown in Early Dragon Ball.

Of course not. I was referring to Broly. The previous sentence is referring to Freeza.

Oh, and I forgot to mention one particular ridiculous thing: Weak characters being chosen to defend their Universe even though there are stronger characters.

As far as the series at large goes (Including but not limited to: Filler, movies, anime-only content, etc.), the sheer amount of contradictions and different versions of events and transparent direction shifts. Not to mention the amount of stories, notably the movies, that don't fit in the timeline at all.

All in all, it doesn't hurt the show. In fact, I find it rather charming that such creative freedoms were taken, especially considering the stagnate nature of modern Dragon Ball, but the idea that Dragon Ball is supposed to have a fairly linear, cohesive universe backing it up is absolutely shattered with as many of these things as there are.

The U6 Saiyan's being a warrior race who've never gotten pissed off enough at anything ever to access SS.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

What Trunks was able to do in the anime's Zamasu arc and GT turning Goku into a kid and trying to remake his old adventures.

Both basic ideas aren't bad but the way they did them couldn't have been worse.

If Trunks had trained with King Kai and maybe had a better source of energy then it would've been more believable. He also should've just got SsjG instead of whatever it is he got. With GT they could've had Goku being a kid as a disadvantage that would require everyone else to take things into their own hands. Also bringing back the comedy of the original wasn't a bad idea but instead of being original and funny, they just ripped off the originl in a worse way.

I can't think of anything from DB but Z would be Bio-Broly...it's just bad.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Broly.
How could we forget the guy that has stigmatized many members of the DB fanbase just by appearing in a few movies and creating a never ending debate regarding his strength, status, and hypothetical potential in DB lore???
