Well, its not like his speculation made 0 sense... it might be completely false (or maybe not who knows) it still makes "sense", in a way. He didn't even say it was a fact too, so its alright.
EDIT: i really hate misconceptions, misinformations, theories, but this speculation wasn't even that bad.
