GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
Luud-Mosco? General Rilldo-Zirloin? Are they some more?

Re: GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
Where in super were they referenced?
Re: GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
The mech Mosco spends his time in is obviously a visual reference to Luud, Zirloin is one for Rild and when he gets powered up, he looks like one of the Para brothers.sangofe wrote:Where in super were they referenced?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

To add more other than Mosco as a Hakaishin Luud and Zirloin as a Rildo and Para Para brother.
Vegeta with pacifier in Potaufeu arc as a reference to Baby Vegeta.
Pan flying into space and looking at the stars. Also Goku saying that he would take her to sky as a reference to their adventures from early GT.
Ledgic's race warrior as a Freeza's soldier in Ressurection F manga.
Also, Super Future Trunks has the same scarf as a GT Trunks, the only difference is color. It might be a little stretched theory or just a coincidence.

I think this is a very overlooked one

Furry Barry Khan is a cheap SSJ4.
The planet Hit was on doing his job had a major Imegga vibe. It was rainy and dark and on top of that Hit assassinated some rich guy.
Also that blue guy in the Tournament of Power is often compared to Baby.

Toyotaro uses the elderly Pilaf Gang designs in the chapter where they wish to become children.
In episode 91, Kahseral helps two children who looks like Imeckians:

I'm pretty sure it was referencing Blade RunnerCetra wrote: The planet Hit was on doing his job had a major Imegga vibe. It was rainy and dark and on top of that Hit assassinated some rich guy.

Yea, I forgot about this one. It's Maji Kayo from Universe 3, he reminds Baby as both had liquid forms.Cetra wrote:Also that blue guy in the Tournament of Power is often compared to Baby.

Can we get some pictures to go with the references in this thread? Curious to see a visual.

Mosco is absolutely a reference to Lood, and I believe Maji Kayo is one to Baby as well.
But we can't forget about the most important one:

18 Dragon Fisting giant Rib was probably a reference to Super 17's defeat.

Goten playing with Pan could be a nod to GT, seeing how Goten looks like Kid Goku.

Also, let's not forget about Vegetto defusing just before dealing the final blow to Zamasu, same thing that happened with SS4 Gogeta.
Heck, in the DBS manga, it was also a variation of Kamehameha that was about to finish the opponent.

Re: GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
This extends back to Gotenks, as well - I wouldn't say it's a GT-specific reference at all (much like some of the other things stretched in this thread); rather, it's an easy way to create tension after what otherwise looks like a done-deal.Xeogran wrote:Also, let's not forget about Vegetto defusing just before dealing the final blow to Zamasu, same thing that happened with SS4 Gogeta.

Re: GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
Interesting topic, but how would you distinguish a "reference" from a "coincidence"? For example, is Fused Zamasu an intenional reference to Super 17 (two different incarnations of the same individual fusing with each other), or is it just a coincidence derived from writing the plot in a certain way?

Re: GT references in DBS(manga&anime)
There is a lot more about Luud and Mosco than people think.
The small guy that made Mosco and was hiding inside him is called Myūru (ミュール)
Creator of Luud is called Myū (ミュー)
In both cases, Luud and Mosco were believed to be gods of destruction but turned out to be just machines made by Myuru/Myu.
So Luud's design is not the only thing that was referenced.
Also, Goku having problem with teleportation after using Kaioken against Hit might be reference to GT Goku having similar problems after he was turned into a kid.
