The one way Minus could be turned into an interesting story: Raditz
Now that Goku is about as kindhearted as his parents are, Raditz now becomes the outlier in the family. As someone who stays true to Saiyan nature and doesn't really feel all that attached to his family members (only superficially), he contrasts heavily with both Bardock and Gine (and obviously Goku, but that was already the case originally). It's still not an ideal situation, as the context and traits that made Goku stand out are being stripped away and given to Raditz, but I feel like something interesting could be written if the character is ever brought up again by some miracle.

Raditz?...Raditz...oh! You mean that guy who was weaker than a saibaman right? Yeah...Raditz is basically the saiyan version of Yamcha so...

The best way to make Dragon Ball into an interesting story is to ignore everything that came out after the Buu saga.

This is a really interesting idea. But how would they explore that contrast between Raditz and the rest of his family?

He’s not weaker than a Saibamen, they’re comparable to Raditz in terms of Battle Power.Nokra wrote:Raditz?...Raditz...oh! You mean that guy who was weaker than a saibaman right? Yeah...Raditz is basically the saiyan version of Yamcha so...

Not that battle power actually matters here anyway. Raditz bringing an interesting story to Minus doesn't really have anything to do with how strong he is, unless there's some kind of plot point where Nappa and Vegeta bully him for being weak or something.MainJPW wrote:He’s not weaker than a Saibamen, they’re comparable to Raditz in terms of Battle Power.Nokra wrote:Raditz?...Raditz...oh! I would imagine Raditz is closer to a traditional Saiyan in behaviour because, to me, he would have spent a lot of time with other Saiyans and was likely influenced by them, similar to how people are influenced by others through their school years. It's possible that Raditz doesn't give a crap about his "soft" parents and hopes Goku will be a hardened warrior like he is (hence why he's so disappointed when eventually meeting him on Earth).PFM18 wrote:....yeah right. I think it's also worth noting that Vegeta was likely basing his expectations of Goku on Raditz because they were brothers. He would have expected Goku to be possibly stronger than Raditz, but not "Over 8,000!" stronger, which is why he suddenly gets so concerned when he first scans his Battle Power on Earth and tells Nappa to eliminate Piccolo and co.
