How exactly do we know what is included/excluded in Toriyama’s outline and why does it matter anyway?TobyS wrote: Hot take but those are explained by not being in the manga/toryamas outline.
Vegetto SS3 BoG < SSJGod < Base Gogeta?

If it was in the outline it'd be in both the anime and manga. That's the point of the outline.Hugo Boss wrote:How exactly do we know what is included/excluded in Toriyama’s outline and why does it matter anyway?TobyS wrote: Hot take but those are explained by not being in the manga/toryamas outline.
Yamcha almost certainly did not cheat on Bulma:
He was afraid of Women, Bulma was the flirty one.
Yamcha wanted to get married (it was his gonna be his wish)
He suggested they settle down in the Trunks saga.
Alternate future Trunks is not a reliable source.
Toriyama wanted new SSJ Kids and not make new characters.

Toriyama doesn’t provide outlines to the Dragon Ball Super anime/manga though. He just provides generic plotpoints to the anime staff and feedback to Toyotaro’s work. The storyboard and dialog probably comes from Toei, since the anime is the original product.TobyS wrote: If it was in the outline it'd be in both the anime and manga. That's the point of the outline.

If it isn't in his outline it never happened as far as Toriyama is concerned.Hugo Boss wrote:Toriyama doesn’t provide outlines to the Dragon Ball Super anime/manga though. Toriyama’s involvement in the production of Dragon Ball Super is pretty much some character designs and plot points. The “outline” doesn’t come from him and he doesn’t oversee it. His real work is scripting out storyboards and dialogs for the movies.TheUltimateNinja wrote: If it isn't in his outline it never happened as far as Toriyama is concerned.
His involvement in the Prisoner Arc (exclusive to manga) is debatable.
Re: Vegetto SS3 BoG < SSJGod < Base Gogeta?
Uhhh no? He sends an outline with all of the main ideas in the plot, and then Toei and Toyotaro fill in all of the details, that's why all of the main points are identical in the anime and the manga. And then, when Toyotaro and Toei filling in the details are reviewed and approved or denied by Toriyama. Essentially everything was either written by Toriyama originally, or was approved by Toriyama.Hugo Boss wrote:Toriyama’s involvement in the production of Dragon Ball Super is pretty much some character designs and plot points. Toriyama doesn’t make storyboards though, he wrote the main plot points, which isn’t the same thing. The real work comes from Toei/Toyotaro respectively in Super’s case. And Toriyama doesn’t “approve” (Toyotaro) storyboards in the sense of authority, but more like a consultant. In Toei’s case, he doesn’t even offer feedback. It’s implied he could be working on the Galatic Patrol Prisoner Arc along with Toyotaro and that’s it.PFM18 wrote:Uhhh no? he does.Hugo Boss wrote: In Toei’s case, he doesn’t even offer feedback.
See Jiren's characterization for example: TOEI had him as Justice Happy, but then Toriyama told them he was Batman. So TOEI used his previous characterization with Toppo

Characters and plot points are his matter. Anime storyboards not.ankokudaishogun wrote:he does.Hugo Boss wrote: In Toei’s case, he doesn’t even offer feedback.
