Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One & Two - 22nd May 2012!
http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Kai-S ... 910&sr=1-7 (Current pre-order price: $49.49)

Seems like FUNimation has gotten aware of the mistake and is re-releasing Season One with Kikuchi-Kai Soundtrack (Official Replacement Music), during the same day release, Season Two is apparently coming out too.
Might consider buying these sets, but I'll wait until I have all my Parts collection complete.
By the way, did anyone notice Amazon's link says "Dragon-Ball-Kai" and not "Dragon-Ball-Z-Kai"? Interesting.

As far as I know, no-one has actually confirmed with FUNimation that the "Season One" re-release is going to have the Kikuchi score in it. We assume it will, but I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.
I certainly never heard back.

RightStuf's Funimation official store, if they're not a relayable source, what is?

What about that page confirms which musical score the release will contain? I don't see anything like that there.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One & Two - 22nd May 2012!
There is no confirmation, but the fact it's coming out the same day as Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Two is close to say it features the Kikuchi Kai Soundtrack.
Parts (4 in Australia) 5-8 have the Kikuchi Kai Soundtrack, and TOEI themselves have wiped out Yamamoto's music from Kai+ (though they probably kept it stored for legal reasons).
Amazon did have re-stocks of the Season One sets but a new re-release of the Kai S1 is completely different. Plus, Rightstuf has it too for 22nd May.
I'd say it comes with Kikuchi Kai Soundtrack, but I'll wait for someone to confirm.

Why the hype over these? They've been available for a long time at Walmart on DVD. Nothing new on them either.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One & Two - 22nd May 2012!
Wal-Mart creates their own packages for these types of things (or has them slapped together by the distributor just for them).masterz13 wrote:Why the hype over these? They've been available for a long time at Walmart on DVD. Nothing new on them either.
These releases are retailer-wide new SKUs. "Season One" has already been released once before, but was pulled from retailer listings and it later re-emerged with the same Kenji Yamamoto broadcast score, despite thoughts that it had been pulled and would possibly be re-released with a replacement score. "Season Two" has not been released at all outside any potential Wal-Mart-specific packages.
So in a nutshell, the fact that "Season One" is technically being re-released is a somewhat major deal, and "Season Two" is an entirely new product. The bigger deal is the fact that these two "seasons" comprise the first four "parts" of the prior releases, which have now officially been discontinued, and all four were incidentally the ones FUNimation released before the BGM incident went down in Japan, necessitating a replacement score.

New trailer for S02!
Season One: http://www.funimation.com/dragon-ball-z ... ay/2492271
Season Two: http://www.funimation.com/dragon-ball-z ... ay/2492881
S01 trailer kinda sucks, but S02's looking pretty awesome, can't wait for the sets to be released and be confirmed to have Kikuchi Kai's soundtrack.

Aren't those literally just Part 2 and 4's trailers with the Season box set covers at the end?

Yeah, nice observation, funrush, so FUNi's just reusing trailers already released but at the end they insert the Season covers.funrush wrote:Aren't those literally just Part 2 and 4's trailers with the Season box set covers at the end?
That was disappointing to think it was a new trailer (didn't remember the early trailers of Kai Parts).

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One & Two - 22nd May 2012!
New lower prices for these sets:
Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One - $31.99
Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Two - $38.32
I'm starting to wonder if Amazon will decrease the prices because Part Seven is still at $24.99, for example.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season One & Two - 22nd May 2012!
I just watched the Season 1 trailer. It is more-or-less the Part 2 trailer, but I also noticed that the Season 1 trailer had a couple of snippets from part 1 episodes - a short scene of Yamcha fighting the Saibamen, and a couple of scenes of the battle with Nappa. So were those clips in the part 2 trailer originally (which would make no sense and would be a goof on Funimation's part) or were they added to the "Season 1" trailer?funrush wrote:Aren't those literally just Part 2 and 4's trailers with the Season box set covers at the end?
EDIT: I just checked. The two trailers are actually kinda different. The Season 1 trailer moves some scenes around from the Part 2 trailer, and has some different dialogue. The Season 2 and Part 4 trailers are pretty much the same, though.

Don't really get you guys thinking this re-release would've have Yamamoto's music, it's a re-release so it should've been pretty clear it features Shunsuke Kikuchi's music (limited BGM pack..).
I've been watching the Catalán/Latin Spanish for its dubs and replacement music and there's not much variety, almost as it is on Cell's arc. imo.
Wondering.. why's the replacement music so limited?

I think people were worried about the music because this was actually the third time this "Season 1" set was released. The past two times had the Yamamoto score.dbboxkaifan wrote:Don't really get you guys thinking this re-release would've have Yamamoto's music, it's a re-release so it should've been pretty clear it features Shunsuke Kikuchi's music (limited BGM pack..).

Hey, so I got Seasons 1 and 2 today and yes, it's Shunsuke Kikuchi's score. Also, everything is still labeled as "Part 1". Here's a horrible quality clip showing those two things!
