Back in June we received first word of an upcoming release of Dragon Ball Kai (under the quasi-international Dragon Ball Z Kai moniker) for France — the first set would span episodes 1-54 (wrapping up the Saiyan and Freeza arcs) over nine DVDs.

Our buddy sangofe dropped us a note with info on its release yesterday, clarifying a few tidbits about its contents. The set does indeed contain the original Japanese version subtitled in French (alongside the new French dub) and is the cropped 16:9 version (similar to the DVD release in Japan, as opposed to the Japanese Blu-ray release which preserved the original 4:3 aspect ratio).

This first set — Saga Des Saiyens & Saga De Freezer — dropped yesterday (02 October 2012) from AB Video for an MSRP of 59.95 €.
