“Battle of Z” (360/PS3/Vita) New Media & Localized “Beerus” Spelling

In conjunction with Jump Festa kicking off in Japan this weekend, Namco-Bandai has unleashed a new trailer for the upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Vita:

The company also provided a slew of new screen shots focusing on the giant boss characters players will come up against:

Finally, footage from the game and Namco-Bandai’s own YouTube descriptions finally reveal what had been hinted at before in filenames on their press server: the name of the God of Destruction from the new film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, included here as a playable character in the game, will indeed be localized as “Beerus“.

A demo for the game is currently available worldwide on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Vita. Battle of Z is due out in Japan 23 January 2014in Europe 24 January 2014, and just a few days later in North America 28 January 2014First-pressings in Japan will come packed with a download code for Son Goku in his Naruto “Sage Mode” outfit along with a Dragon Ball Heroes card. North American and European releases will have pre-order downloadable content in the form of the Naruto outfit as well as Super Vegetto and Super Saiyan Bardock, while Europe alone will be receiving a special “Goku Edition” of the game with further physical bonus material.
