“CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” Inclusion on Momoiro Clover Z Single

Momoiro Clover Z and King Records announced today that the group’s upcoming CD single will contain a cover of the original opening theme to the Dragon Ball Z TV series, “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA“.

The CD single will lead with “Vow of ‘Z'”, the group’s main theme for the upcoming film, Dragon Ball Z: Revival of “F”. The second track has been announced as “Romantikku Kongaragatteru” (“Romantically Entangled”), followed up with the third and final vocal track of “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”.

Each of the three songs will also receive “off-vocal” (karaoke) versions for a total of six tracks.

Momoiro Clover Z provided the main theme — “Moon Pride” — for the Sailor Moon Crystal re-make TV series. As a part of that CD single, the group recorded a cover of “Moon Revenge”, a Sailor Moon R movie insert song from 1993, which was not used anywhere beyond the CD single. It is likely that their cover of “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” will follow suit in that it is an inclusion exclusively for the CD single; Revival of “F” is already set to include “Vow of ‘Z'” from the group in addition to “F” by Maximum the Hormone.

The group’s CD single will be released 29 April 2015 in Japan and will come in two versions: a “Z” edition on CD containing three songs and their respective karaoke versions (KICM-1594; ¥1157 + tax; ¥1250 total), and an “F” edition, which will also include a Blu-ray featuring the music video for the movie’s theme (KIZM-345~6; ¥1713 + tax; ¥1850 total). The cover art of the “Z” version will use a brand-new illustration from Toei Animation.

The CD singles are available for pre-order from CDJapan.
