As is more often the case than you might believe, a one-off Reddit response got the documentation juices flowing, and suddenly we had what’s likely the most succinct, clean, and accurate overview of Dragon Ball‘s treatment in the United States of America that’s even been put together. And here’s the thing: this isn’t even its final form!

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

• “Dragon Ball American Release Chronology“: This brief chronology of the Dragon Ball franchise’s journey to the United States of America starts back with a re-titled video game, as well as its first official license attempt via Harmony Gold, in the late 1980s. From here, the series makes its way to certain cable channels for specialized broadcasts before ultimately landing in the hands of FUNimation as the primarily license holder in 1994, with Viz also picking up the manga in 1998. The rest is, as they say, history! There’s more I want to add (in particular about video games), but this is already a fantastic resource.
