Episode Summary
Part A
Bulma checks out the Demon Realm airplane after its crash, and notes that she wants to swap out a device showing an error… but part of the damage is to a energy converter piece that’s made of something which doesn’t exist on Earth! Vegeta wonders if Bulma can just handle it, but it’s nothing she’s ever seen before! Everyone asks if they can swap in something that does come from Earth, but it will take Bulma time to figure that all out.
Everyone is frustrated with the situation and tempers flare, but suddenly another ship arrives to steal their attention. Hybis has arrived to fetch them on orders from King Kadan!
Back in the Demon Realm, Goku opens up a whole bunch of what look like dark, burned rice balls. Panzy calls them Manpuku Dumplings — they’re emergency rations, and each one is worth two meals. Goku of course pops two of them in quick succession, with his stomach expanding along the way. He’s getting full now! Panzy can’t believe he’s actually an adult, and asks how he raised a kid. Goku says he wasn’t really involved.
Hybis has Piccolo, Vegeta, and Bulma aboard his ship already. Bulma asks why Kibito didn’t join them. Piccolo says he’s looking after the temple, and anyway, this guy will be their guide. Bulma is interested in the device Hybis is using to find their route, but Hybis says all he wants to do is get them to their friends so he can go to the beauty parlor. Bulma stares up at his single antennae, and supposes even Majin go to beauty parlors.
King Kadan chimes in over the communicator to ask their whereabouts. Hybis says they just left the temple. Kadan relays that Goku and the others are heading toward the Tamagami, and asks that they contact him when they arrive in the Third Demon World.
Panzy notices something in the distance out the plane window, and yells for Glorio to stop — she saw the military police. Glorio sees one ship in the distance and they attempt to change course, but another ship jumps in front, cornering them. Kaiōshin wants to comply for now, since they don’t want to destroy the plane. As they’re escorted away in the sky, Glorio wonders how they were even tracked in the first place. Panzy realizes that they scanned her collar back during their last encounter. Everyone down here has to wear a collar, but Goku wonders they they don’t just take them off; it’s impossible, apparently. Glorio supposes that if the police knew for sure that they had Goku with them, they would have already attacked.
As Glorio lands the plane, Goku asks if he should just take them all out. If that happens, however, they’ll all be wanted and they won’t be able to use Warp-sama. Kaiōshin tells Goku to hide in the back, even though Panzy warns that they’ll search everywhere.
The hatch opens to reveal Glorio, Kaiōshin, and Panzy. Kaiōshin calmly asks what the issue is, but they’re yelled at to come out for inspection. The three are led away from the plane, and Panzy seems to be quite worried that Goku will be found. Everything is tossed out of the plane, but there’s no-one else to be found inside. A hand reaches up to tap Panzy from behind… and it’s Goku! Panzy almost makes a commotion, but they’re able to restrain her before anyone notices. Goku runs away and hides in a bush behind them all.
As the police prepare to depart, Kaiōshin explains to Panzy that Goku can use teleportation, so he simply blipped over here to Kaiōshin’s ki siganture. Panzy says these are just like magic!
Panzy gets called out for questions, even though the military police didn’t find anyone. The other day some kid threw a bomb at them, and they suspect it to be this girl. Kaiōshin protests, but the officer grabs her anyway, saying she’ll crank under pressure regardless. Panzy tazes the guy, so Kaiōshin and Glorio suppose they’ll just have to fight after all. Each handily take out the military force, but then the planes start firing at them! Goku is flushed out in the process. Glorio and Kaiōshin split, but this leads to their place being shot at and ruined (again). Glorio blasts another plane out of the air, followed by Kaiōshin knocking a couple together. One last plane tries to get away, so now it’s Goku’s turn to fire a ki blast long distance!
Part B
Panzy rummages for some kind of radar gun, which she says will disable the downed military members’ communicators; this way they can’t call for backup. Their plane is wrecked yet again, but Panzy notices one of the military planes off to the side. The group load everything in; thankfully all their stuff was tossed outside, so it’s relatively unharmed.
Panzy is taking a bit to get going — she notes that while she disabled their communicators, they still scanned her collar earlier, so they’ll be able to track her, regardless. Kaiōshin asks to see the collar. From a brief touch, he can tell that it’s made of Katchin! This is a metal that can only be obtained on Planet Kaishin where the Glinds used to live. Panzy says it’s indestructible and won’t come off, and Kaiōshin assumes it was Dr. Arinsu who’s responsible for this, going back to when Dabra was king. Panzy says that all demons in the Third Demon World are taken by the government and have the collars put on them (and are killed if they refuse). They’re strange collars that even grow with them as they age. Kaiōshin asks if he wants Panzy to have him remove it; he is Glind, after all. Kaiōshin puts a couple fingers on it, raise them, and extends his hands saying “Pan Paka Paan!”… and the collar breaks apart! Panzy is free! No magic has ever worked on these collars before; they’ll have to teach everyone how to do this! Panzy asks what his name is again, to which Kaiōshin responds “Shin”… but Panzy says that’s his name in the outside world, so what’s his real name in the Demon World? Kaiōshin says it’s “Nahare,” which Panzy recognizes as more like a Glind name. Goku supposes he’ll start calling Kaiōshin that and tries… but says it doesn’t feel right, and will just stick with Kaiōshin!
Glorio says the military planes are exceptionally fast; they can fly twice as fast and the plane doesn’t even shake. Panzy is still in disbelief over Goku’s ridiculous idea of taking on the Tamagami for the Dragon Balls. Glorio and Kaiōshin note that they’ll need a new PIN now for the different plane; even if they get a Dragon Ball here in the Third Demon World, they won’t be able to use Warp-sama to then travel onward to the Second Demon World. Panzy says to leave it to her, and calls up someone named Pelar on her communicator. Can they hack a new military plane PIN? Somewhere in what seems to be a tech bunker, a green bug-like demon says the princess’ wish is his command! The plane number is 51, and Panzy will send the other necessary data. 1022 is the new PIN. Pelar goes on to say that they heard from Hybis, and that he’s arrived back in the Third Demon World with the other folks from Earth. Panzy wants to know if they should wait, but Goku says they’re in a hurry; everyone else will just have to catch up with them. Kaiōshin wonders if they shouldn’t wait, but Goku wants to go fight the Tamagami.
Bulma, Vegeta, and Piccolo stand outside the plane taking in the Third Demon World, while Hybis gets the command from King Kadan to keep flying with them to meet up with Panzy and the others. Hybis says he has a date to get to, but he’s not fooling Kadan, who knows he doesn’t even have a girlfriend. He’ll buy Hybis something good to eat in return, so Hybis requests just a single large pizza with worms.
Glorio asks if Goku wants to go straight to the Tamagami, so they land the ship near a town and walk toward a distant platform where a Tamagami stands in silence, holding a giant hammer. There’s a Dragon Ball on his chest, and Goku remarks that it’s large like the ones from Planet Namek. Panzy says this one is named Tamagami Number Three, and that she’s never heard of anyone fighting it and winning. Goku notices the giant hammer and wonders about fighting against that, but Glorio says he can just use in pole to fight back. Goku will have to fight one-on-one, and Panzy says that if he fills like the Tamagami is about to kill him, he should give up before that happens. Before Goku gets started, he needs to eat and use the bathroom first — he’s been smelling something pretty good this whole time and can’t focus!
Goku munches down on some dumplings while the group makes small chat with the waiter. He’s impressed they stole a plane from the military! Kaiōshin asks if any demons have challenged the Tamagami lately; the waiter says about 20 years ago some guy with a big gun tried, but it was over in an instant, and was killed. Goku asks how you start a fight with the Tamagami, and the waiter — simultaneously amused yet perplexed — says you just challenge it! Goku asks where the bathroom is, and while he’s gone the waiter smiles and remarks how carefree kids can be.
Glorio asks if Goku wants to use a Revive Bug first, but he’s good to go now. Panzy is still hesitant about this whole thing, and says she heard that even Dabra couldn’t beat the Tamagami. Goku says this just makes him more excited!
Goku tells everyone to stay back and starts talking to the Tamagami, who screams at him in response, with shockwaves bursting back all the way through town. The Tamagami introduces himself as Number Three, twirling his hammer around. Goku confirms he seeks the Dragon Ball, and so they must fight! Goku twirls Nyoibō in response, and the fight is about to begin!

Episode Notes
- Keeping up with the series’ ongoing inconsistency between formal episode title cards and titles written in the lower corner overtop footage, episode 7 overlays the title atop footage.
Character & Location Names
-
Nahare (ナハレ; nahare)
Kaiōshin’s “original” name of Nahare likely comes from なはれ (nahare), an Osakan-dialect version of the imperative verb suffix for “do”; this falls in line with previous Kaiōshin-adjacent characters, such as Gowasu and Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super, as well as Degesu and Arinsu here in Dragon Ball Daima. -
Pelar (ペラル; peraru)
In line with other plant-based names in the series, “Pelar” likely takes his name from “pelargonium” (ペラルゴニウム; perarugoniumu), the genus of flowering plants that includes geraniums. The official simulcast English subtitles render this name as “Peral”. -
Tamagami Number Three (タマガミ・ナンバー・スリー; tamagami nanbā surii)
From the start, the “Tamagami” protecting the Demon Realm Dragon Balls have been written in the closed captions and now listed in the voice credits in katakana as タマガミ (tamagami). This is in contrast to what could have been written with kanji with distinct character meanings as perhaps 玉神 (“Ball Gods” or “Orb Guardians”). This third Tamagami is referred to with the actual English words “Number Three” for a name.
Translation & Language
- Panzy’s Senzu-like dumplings are called “Manpuku Dumplings” (まんぷく丸; manpuku-gan), with the “manpuku” coming from 満腹 meaning a “full stomach” (or otherwise eating one’s fill), and 丸 referring to usually a fish- or meatball.
- Goku’s teleportation is the same literal “Instantaneous Movement” (瞬間移動; shunkan-idō) as named and used in the original Dragon Ball series.
- Kaiōshin references Katchin (カッチン鋼; Katchin-kō, or more literally “Katchin Steel”), as seen and used in the original Dragon Ball series, where it was described as “the hardest metal in the universe” (宇宙でいちばん硬いわれる金属). Katchin more recently appeared during the Dragon Ball Super manga’s version of the fight against Merged Zamazu. “Katchin” has been localized as “Klangite” by Viz, adapting it from the pun source of カチン (kachin), the Japanese sound effect for metallic clanging or clanking noises. The name is adapted as “Katchintite” in the Dragon Ball Daima official simulcast English subtitles.
- This episode’s continued exposition about the Kaiōshin — including that of “Planet Kaishin” — is largely based and expanded on information franchise creator Akira Toriyama first delivered in his second “The Truth About the Dragon Ball Manga” interview series from 2009’s Dragon Ball Super Exciting Guide: Character Volume.
How did you come up with the ball-like cosmos?
I think it’s something I came up with so both I and the readers would be able to grasp the atmosphere of it easily. The big ball in the center is the world known as “this life” and “the afterlife,” and the one who watches over it from outside is Kaiōshin. Only, at the bottom, as though in opposition, a Makaiōshin exists, and governs evil. (Although right now, Kaiōshin’s power appears to be greater.)Is Kaiō-sama a hereditary position?
Inside the big ball I mentioned before, there is a planet, called the World Core [Kaishin-sei] where the Kaiō are born and raised. It’s a world like a gigantic Planet Kaiō, and Kaiō-sama and his peers are born as Core People [Shin-jin] from the fruit of the World Core’s giant World Tree [Kaiju]. The planet’s population is about 80. Core People are neither male nor female, and their average lifespan is said to be about 75,000 years. At a castle that’s like a school, they learn a variety of things, and live an easygoing life; however, if a Kaiō dies on one of the Kaiō Planets, the next Kaiō is chosen from among them by lottery. However, a Kaiōshin is chosen only from Core People who are born from a special golden fruit, which rarely occurs. In addition, there are occasionally delinquent Core People with evil hearts; these ones fall under the Makaiō.
Staff & Cast
- Kenta Miyake, a modern veteran of the voice acting industry, makes his Dragon Ball franchise debut as Tamagami Number Three. While Miyake is known for his own original roles in franchises such as Fullmetal Alchemist, he has also taken over roles for the late voice actors Hirotaka Suzuoki, Daisuke Gōri, and Unshō Ishizuka in other series — it may be worth keeping an eye on whether Miyake appears elsewhere down the road!
- Hirohiko Kakegawa plays the Teahouse Shopkeeper in this episode. Kakegawa has played minor roles in the Dragon Ball franchise going all the way back to the first television series, playing various unnamed villagers and such over the entire course of the franchise. Kakegawa also played the filler character Bourbon in Dragon Ball Z episode 170, and then White in the 10th anniversary film.
Animation Alterations

- The effects around Kaiōshin’s magical chant are slightly different between the trailer and final broadcast episode.
- The steam from Pelar’s drink has been toned down between the trailer and final broadcast episode.
