Episode Summary
Goku flies up to confront Ozotto, who is shocked to find Goku managed to escape from inside him. Goku tells Ozotto to let everyone go, but Ozotto refuses, instead now intent on devouring Goku with this new power. Ozotto goes in for a swipe, but Goku immediately dodges and fires a series of ki blasts in response. Hearts and the others make their way out during the commotion.
Inside, the Time Patrollers are still struggling against an onslaught of Ozotto clones. Vegeta and Trunks try to hold it together while they send Goku off to save the others. Ozotto (in Chrono’s form) uses her Time Judgement against Goku, who is surprised at this kind of power coming at him.
Outside, another group of Ozotto clones fire at Goku, who silently dodges every attack, firing back on his own along the way. Ozotto supposes this must be Ultra Instinct, where the body is reacting all on its own. Ozotto uses Chronoa’s Freeze technique, but Goku manages to avoid it.
Back inside, Goku: Xeno rushes over to free the actual Kaiōshin of Time. Ozotto changes back to his normal form.
The giant Ozotto tries to use Freeze against Goku again, but it’s no use, and lets loose with a large blast instead. Goku continues to dodge everything, countering along the way. Goku says he’s not interesting in how hungry Ozotto is or what this god hunting is all about, but he won’t forgive anyone who hurts his friends! All of the Ozotto clones fall out of the sky from Goku’s attacks, and Goku rushes in against the real Ozotto again. Ozotto tries to bargain with Goku, offering some of the power he’s gained — Saiyans are a warrior race after all, so wouldn’t he want some of this new strength? Goku says not to compare them like that, and flies back in with a Dragon Fist attack. All the others are suddenly outside — did this other Goku manage to defeat Ozotto?!
Goku falls out of his transformation to the ground, and Trunks is relieved to see the Kaiōshin of Time. A voice from the sidelines says she fine, and just sleeping for now — it’s Aeos, the former Kaiōshin of Time! Aeos says that Goku really is amazing.
A small blob of Ozotto tries to escape, but Aoes captures it in a small container, saying she’ll take care of him and make sure he doesn’t get up to trouble again. She wonders if she should restore space-time to its original state now, and speaks in the language of the gods as giant Dragon Balls surround them. Super Shenlong appears, and Aeos wishes to restore all of space-time back to how it was! Goku, still laying on the ground, smiles.
Episode Notes
Manga vs. Anime Differences
-
Though the rough underlying story beats are largely the same between the two media, the Meteor Mission! manga series by Yoshitaka Nagayama includes a wealth of additional details and character appearances beyond what is seen here in the promotional anime. Of note, a larger cast of characters — including other main Time Patrollers — join the fight after being released from Ozotto, and Aeos also directly joins the battle. In both versions, the Super-era version of Goku defeats Ozotto with a Meteor Silver Dragon Fist (which Goku explicitly shouts aloud in the manga).
Episode Credits
All credits listed below are as originally presented in the promotional episode. Unlike all prior episodes of the promotional anime, this “Meteor Mission” run of episodes does not include any animation credits; instead, general credits are featured during the opening animation (primarily those of Bandai staff), while the end credits exclusively feature voice credits.
