Re: Nostalgia for the so-called dark ages of DB

I remember being like 5 or 6 years old and randomly catching the very first episode of DBZ on cartoon network when it first aired and being blown away. I recall it very vividly weirdly enough and just loved it. It was actually cool cause growing up every other kid was into it too and even now I coul...

Re: "(Super) Dragon Ball Heroes" Official Discussion Thread

I just have a couple of observations to make: 1. I'm really surprised that Goku and Vegeta JR have never made it into the game. Do you guys think these a specific reason for that? and 2 would anyone else like to Dragon Ball Evolution characters make it to the game? As bad as the movie was it is a pa...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread

It would be a shame not to include some of the movies as side quests. Like imagine accidently finding DR. Wheelos ice fortress and it starting that whole story and stuff like that. It'd be real cool.

Re: Does Dragon Ball as a Franchise goes in your right Direction ?

Honestly I think super was a horrible misstep in terms of character development and lackluster plot lines. The manga had some excellent character development over its run and I like how one plot kinda lead into the next at least up until the buu saga. Super just feels too childish which yes its made...

Re: DBGT: General Designs/Visuals & Music Opinions

Personally the designs are a little too 90's for me (17, Vegeta) but I love little Gokus design and for the most part the alien planets were pretty cool. But I agree most of the shadow dragons were lacking and bland.

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

However Toriyama nor anyone else has ever stated any type of official canon there for its all up in the air and head canon is all there is. First, he doesn't have to. It's implicit that his story is canon. Second, if you don't agree, then there is no explicit canon or simply no canon, to which I sa...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

Canon has to be official, that's what makes it canon. There's no harm to it, but it's a confusing term that isn't helpful. Saying headcanon is a type of canon is like saying abstinence is a type of sex. Well zero's a number and black is a colour. Headcanon isn't a canon except for the person using ...

Can anyone tell me where the picture of old man Goku that Toriyama drew came from?

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

I disagree. By official I pretty mean Toriyama involved or approved not American developers just doing anything they want. America has nothing to do with it the video games are made by Namco Bandai a japanese compagny that have close relationship with Toei and Shueisha also japanese compagny. Also ...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

I actually really like what you did here until you start including video games then it just becomes ridiculous. I would only consider things of official nature Well video games are also official. Have you not checked Daizenshuu 6? The backstories are explained there. In the alternate dimension wher...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

Story is what matters, not whether every single incarnation of TMNT connects. It doesn't make it richer, it makes it all fan service-y and convoluted. I love also for Dragon Ball to dig and think hard about Saiyan biology how the Cells S trigger biologically the Super Saiyan does that connect to th...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

That's a November, 2016 post. I'm pretty over it now lol Actually enjoying Super and appreciating all of the side adventures coming out. Gave up on thinking of DB as a linear thing. [/quote] Lol good for you I feel like that's the only way we can enjoy the series now and days otherwise you'll just l...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

Keep it separate. Take the DC universe as an example. One can enjoy and love Tim Burton's version of Batman .... same with Christopher Nolan's take on Batman .... and then hate the DC Cinematic Universe Ben Affleck version of Batman. They are all Batman, but different versions of the character. The...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

I think instead of rebooting or retelling it they should do a crossover if anything at all. It'd be very easy to come up with a reason to cross the timelines and it would honestly probably be really cool to see. Not to mention the buzz it would cause and attention it would get. Imagine seeing SSB vs...

Re: Is it time GT gets recognized as an alternate timeline rather than just "not canon?"

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would like some clarification on how GT is viewed by the main timeline. As I said before: Toei advertised it as the official sequel to the Dragon Ball series and I don't want to feel punished for actually buying into their crap. It's bad enough that it's being writt...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread

So Toriyama released a statement saying that theres little stories in this game that never made it to the manga? Does that mean that he wrote them and they were un used or did he write them in general and are they to be considered "canonical"?
