Re: Battle of Gods Box Office - $49.7 million (#6 in US!)
It only did $263,000 thats incredibly disappointing. It was only shown in like half the theatres too I certainly wasn't expecting that, $3,000,000 is probably out of reach now. It's not even supposed to be shown today so if it does appear it won't be much. On the plus side it has pushed the movie p...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Not my favorite episode from this season. I get that a lot of the jokes were related to previous episodes, I just didn't find them that funny this time around, maybe because I was sorta expecting them. As for what I DID like Cell's introduction, that was very creepy, just as I was hoping for. Vegeta...

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U
Not at all what I was saying :eh: That example doesn't even come close to the case in point. And I'm aware that they're using a shorter, edited version of the original footage... hence the word abridged. In any case, I'm not Funi's lawyer. It's my interpretation from what I've read from the US Copy...

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U
Or maybe it was my English and I could've phrased it better but this is what I meant by entirety.VegettoEX wrote: The entirety of an Abridged episode is all made from DBZ, not that an entire episode of DBZ necessarily corresponds to an entire episode of Abridged.

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U
Does that possibility make it illegal or a gray area? I don't think so. There's also a chance of someone being convicted for arson when they are innocent because the judge and jury interpreted the evidence incorrectly and so they decided incorrectly. Does that make arson a gray area? No. Not at all...

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U
Not sure where one can draw the line between "small bits" from original work and "large portions" to conclude that is fair use, given that the original DBZ footage is used in the entirety of each TFS' episode. Which is my point, there's a gray line there, I'm not saying that they...

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U
(And no, fan parodies are not a gray area at all, they are protected by fair use and the right to parody. Things in gray areas don't really have protection but they also aren't deemed illegal or prosecuted legally.) It's my understanding that TFS IS walking down a gray line of legality because they...

Re: Might Vegeta have an OLDER brother?
If he did, then why would Vegeta get the title of prince? All royal children are princes or princesses but only the oldest becomes king or queen usually. I always assumed Vegeta was a Crown prince which is different from just being a prince. It's not an official title, more a like casual word to me...

Re: Might Vegeta have an OLDER brother?
If he did, then why would Vegeta get the title of prince? The only way I could see it happening is if somehow Vegeta's older brother was a good-hearted Saiyan and therefore considered "unfit" to sit on the throne. King Vegeta decides to vanish him from the planet and his name is erased fr...

Re: Why did Kuririn refuse to deactivate #18?
I feel is a combination of both. He felt attracted to her primarily because of her good looks but then as they started to interact with each other his attraction intensified and became something deeper when he realized that maybe Eighteen wasn't a bad person (cybor or whatever) after all. By the mom...

Re: WatchMojo.com's Top 10 DBZ Moments
Watched Higa's video but that was displeasing for me as a fan but others/his fans seemed to like it and dare to say it was better than the original Dragon Ball Z. Edit: I liked the Naruto fake movie trailer better tbh. And the list on Mojo is what you would expect from Mojo. Number one is the over ...

Re: WatchMojo.com's Top 10 DBZ Moments
As of lately, I’ve seen many popular Youtubers upload content related to Dragon Ball: Ryan Higa, screen Junkies, and now watchmojo (to name a few). I wonder if there’s a nostalgia cycle going on right now.

Re: Next DBZ Movie Featuring Vegeta?
The way I see it, a prequel would be more about character development. If you believe people are born evil, then you won’t be interested in a movie like this but if you believe experiences play an important role in people’s personalities, then that’s different. I know Vegeta had a lot of wickedness...

Re: Next DBZ Movie Featuring Vegeta?
BOG screwed Vegeta over so much that I can't see a movie with him in the spotlight being any good. But if they bring back the good ol' badass Vegeta, go for it. I wasn't a fan of a lot of it as well, but it had one of my top favorite Vegeta scenes though. I loved seeing him defend Bulma. I also lov...

I highly doubt Toriyama is even willing to try it. Any future movie will most likely go in the same direction as BOG.hleV wrote:BOG screwed Vegeta over so much that I can't see a movie with him in the spotlight being any good. But if they bring back the good ol' badass Vegeta, go for it.

Re: Next DBZ Movie Featuring Vegeta?
I always wanted to see a TV special around Vegeta’s younger years under Freeza, in a similar fashion as History of Trunks. The special, of course, wouldn’t have ssj transformations and that might be a tough idea to sell. I wonder if there’s still a chance.

Re: Bulma vs. Dr Gero (The better scientist)
Bulma. Everything she created served its purpose as opposed to Gero's. The few times her creations failed, was due to human intervention (read Kuririn). A great scientist is ultimately determined by the type of results they can deliver, not how much effort they put into their creation or the complex...
