Re: Exploring the Feasibility of Editing DVD Files for Audio Replacement

What do you want to create? A video file, a new DVD you've designed from scratch, or a modified version of the original DVD? They're all doable, but the first option has much less of a learning curve than the other two.

Re: Crunchyroll to stream Dragon Ball in Ireland, UK and France

These are clearly the same video masters from ~2009, with the Japanese audio keeping the original title card but leaving the credits textless. They even open with the 2011-era Funimation logo, which is a bit ironic given this week's news.
Episodes 1-25 are free with ads.

Re: Dragon Ball In an Pal Pitch

there's no 4% PAL speedup on them, even though most of my other DVDs have it. Because they'll have been converted to PAL by blending and/or skipping frames, as if they were native 60Hz NTSC video. So the speed remains unchanged, but you get motion issues as a compromise. Nowadays, Au and UK Dragon ...

Re: Dragon Ball In an Pal Pitch

Does anybody have a way I can watch the dragon ball movies in a 4,3 Pal pitch? Because I want to remaster the big green dubs of OG movies 1-3 in better quality. What software are you using to remaster the movies? Some editors will let you change the playback speed of your footage to match exactly t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero" Home Release Discussion Thread

I can't even remember if 4K's are region free. All UHD Blu-rays should be region free, it's an intentional feature of the format. The box advertises Region A+B as well, so apparently importing will be a viable option for a lot of people if there's no local release. (Apparently there's a handful of ...

There's also an Amazon-exclusive steelbook, using what seems to be a flipped version of the previous steelbook's artwork.

Re: One Piece Episode 590 (The One Piece x Toriko x Dragon Ball Z Crossover) to Air on Toonami on March 4

So, Crunchyroll has NO REASON to not dub those, especially since they're strapped for DB content and were desperate enough to dig this up when no one cared for it as much as the specials. I'm not sure if Crunchyroll did dig this up out of the blue. I think it's possible that Tooanmi acquired this e...

The Universe Survival arc was added yesterday, completing the series. The first three "series" are now listed as being available for another 10 months, while 47-131 are available for over a year.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread

Based on the images, these might be slipcovers with two individually-cased Parts in them?

Even if CR releases larger general-release sets, I don't think they'll call them "Seasons" as Funi stopped inventing seasons for their shows shortly after Kai V1 finished.

https://youtu.be/T6KkAq0un1o They've posted the ending to youtube, though it was just a montage of still images to begin with. But yeah, I'm very surprised at how good those shots look (as Kineko point out, it's hardly an ideal source). It resembles those direct scans of the cels used on merch/DVD ...

This is particularly annoying when two names are localised differently in the dub and subtitles. Not that that will be an issue going forward. https://i.imgur.com/pNbTEIh.png https://i.imgur.com/e7vgX1j.png Will things change now that Crunchyroll is taking over distribution? Possibly, if Crunchyroll...

Also, why are the specials in 16:9? They were made for TV, so they should be in 4:3. Are the TV specials in wide screen? The poster says full screen. Those Twitter screen caps of Bardock are from the the first Cooler movie's recap; they seem to be complaining that the movies were cropped from 4:3 t...

Re: Variety - "Crunchyroll Is Adding All Funimation Anime Content, Sony Starts to Phase Out Funimation Brand"

For another UK perspective, Crunchyroll has been there for as long as I've been watching anime, whereas I still think of Funimation as a bit of a newcomer here. Also, when Funi sends you an email advertising One Piece that takes you to an 'out of region' page, you get the impression that the UK audi...

I would have thought Crunchyroll would be the one to go, as Funimation shamelessly discarded the decades old Manga UK brand. Yeah. I had assumed that home video would continue to use the Funimation branding, but Variety are implying that the Funimation name is entirely on its way out. They only reb...

Tōru Furuya (Yamucha) has a major role after the time skip
