Re: Unpopular Opinion: Nozawa should have never been Adult G
While you said that creators makes mistakes (that they fix) I don't think you could call Nozawa's adult Goku a mistake since she's been doing it for 25+ years. I think if there was a lot of resentment for her role as adult goku I think she would have been re-casted but she even lasted through anoth...

Re: Unpopular Opinion: Nozawa should have never been Adult G
A different actor was not cast for Miya'uchi Kouhei as the younger Muten Roushi, nor was a different actor cast for Kuririn, Chaozu, or Blooma when they grew up. Why just Gokuu? Because none of those guys had unfitting VAs. And their voices were as believable as they were from youth to adulthood. R...

Unpopular Opinion: Nozawa should have never been Adult Goku?
I don't get why people think that Nozawa is fitting for Adult Goku. People say, "Well Toriyama picked her" but they'd be half right. The half wrong comes from how Toriyama had very little if anything to do with casting for later sagas/DBZ/DBGT. He picked her for CHILD GOKU. That excuse doe...

Re: Should FUNimation have done a completely new cast for Ka
An LA cast would have been far better than the cast we have now. Overall, the Kai dub is decent, but it needs a solid LA dub to make the show better than it is already. Goku: JYB Piccolo: Kirk Thornton Gohan: Yuri Lowenthal Vegeta: Steve Blum Kuririn: Sam Riegal Freeza: Crispin Freeman 17: Grant Geo...

Re: Is Colleen Really The Best English Kid Gohan Ever?
I wouldn't use the term "natural" because for one, voice acting isn't about being "realistic" per say, but more about being believable. Secondly, Dragon Ball. But honestly, Colleen isn't believable either. I don't like comparing pre-lay to ADR, but compare Colleen to let's say, R...

Re: DBZ Kai coming to Toonami
Well, we have sort of just had recent confirmation that the Ocean Kai was actually produced for Cartoon Network. So in regard to the mysteries wrapped up in an enigma surrounding that particular production, nothing will surprise me anymore. That was most likely a mistake. Tom Keenlyside and John Mi...

Re: Why do north american fans say Kai has no blood on it.
What bugs me about them is that they're incredibly hypocritical. The Z dub was censored on TV, uncut on DVD. So is the Kai dub. Why is so hard for them to understand that? :? Though I'm not defending the Z dub at all, the broadcast at least had significant amounts of blood for what it was worth. Ev...

Disney did not make The Wind Rises. It was done by Studio Ghibli, just like all of Miyazaki's films. All Disney does with his films is handle the English dubbing and releases. Disney have been part of the production committee for Ghibli films since Spirited Away, so to say they are only involved in...

The Pioneer dubs of the first 3 movies are better than Kai's dub, even though Ocean can't be consistent for shit.B wrote:Just watch it in Japanese. There's pretty much nothing non-Kai that is any good dubbed.

Still very awesome. Wakamoto is still the man! Age hurt him, but he hasn't been all that since Geass R2.

Re: Should the next DBZ movie be 2D or CG Animation?
Even though I'm a casual DBZ fan, DBZ has ALWAYS looked sub-par. The TV show looks cheap and the "movies" are horribly animated and have no detail to them. Many TV shows such as Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop and Turn A Gundam have better animation and art than all the DBZ movies. I want DBZ to ...

Re: Why did FUNimation spell Freeza with an "i"?
Not really because... that's how you say her name. It's not at all the short "i" sound that the dub goes with. It's very much a long "ee". Don't use katakana as a guide to pronounce non-Japanese words, specifically if it has multiple consonants in its original language. Besides,...

Re: Why did FUNimation spell Freeza with an "i"?
It doesn't even make sense since you don't say "fry-za" or "fry-eza". "Fr ie za" would be pronounced free-zuh ... Now if it were spelt "Fr ei za", then it would be frahy-zuh . There are exceptions, but mostly in pluralized forms of short, single-syllable word...

Re: Toonami will air the Cooler Movie on May 24
This doesn't count the Ocean dubs of Z Movies 1-2. I don't know why you wouldn't count them, since they were produced by FUNimation (in conjunction with Pioneer, but still). Actually, they were produced by Pioneer, in association with Funimation. My movie 2 DVD says. "English Version Produced ...

Re: Why do Kai haters say the the dub sounds boring?
Same reasons why Cowboy Bebop dub fanboys think only their dub is good, when almost every other Animaze/modern LA dub is better or as good. Because they grew up with it. Funnily enough, both the DBZ in house dub and the Bebop dub were released more or less during the same time on home video in North...

Re: Why do people think the English Kai dub is so great?
Ayres sucks as Freeza. Crispin Freeman should have been Freeza. His voice is so much more refined than Ayres it's not even funny. Not to mention that Freeza is supposed to have a DEEP voice for 3 of his forms. Ayres' voice is way too high pitched it's annoying. Freeman would nail Freeza and if not ...

Re: Would you be more forgiving towards the dub if....
Which dub? The French dub? The Portugal dub? The Spanish dub? Didn't I say this before? You cannot use the term "the dub" in such a vague manner, in the context of DBZ. There are plenty of DBZ dubs with dub errors, censorship, bad voice acting and inaccurate scripts. Same thing with Cowboy...

Why does Kanzenshuu never criticize other dubs of DB?
It annoys me how people on this site refer to the Funimation dub as "the dub" which is very vague as there were about 10 dubs long before the Funimation dub existed, such as the French, Cantonese, Portuguese, Catalan, Mexican-Spanish dub, Spanish-Spain dub, Mandarin dub, Thai dub and I thi...
