Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

The Part One Blu-ray I ordered had shrink wrap covering the slip cover. Each disc holder has eight teeth instead of three. Goku is displayed on both discs one and two (no Beerus on two). The undersides of the discs are black. The slip cover is still holographic. Am I correct in assuming I got a boo...

Re: All-purpose Dragon Ball sale/trade thread.

I'm looking for a FUNimation Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Five Blu-ray slipcover. I'm not picky about shipping speed.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?

So when is episode 98 expected to air on Toonami? As far as I'm aware, it's due to air November time, but bear in mind, if they have any marathons for other shows, that may push it back. I haven't been keeping up due to third shift work (and haven't set it to DVR due to already owning all of it), b...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?

Is there any way to get the original Funi dubs with the Faulconer score on DVD or something, or are those are to come by these days? If you mean FUNimation's in-house (post-Ocean) dub, its Saiyan and pre-Ginyu Namek arcs use a score by Nathan Johnson rather than Faulconer Productions. The Johnson s...

This is out of the blue, but are future roles being considered for General Ivan? He has an awesome voice.

Was Dai Kaio ever shown in the manga?

Re: All Time Favorite Piece of Dragon Ball Music

Possibly this piece from the fourth Z movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Bl7oPgTjHI&index=16

It gives the feeling of a titanic clash, while suggesting cataclysmic collateral damage. This just so happens to befit Namek's last minutes.

How's the selective cropping in season 9? I read somewhere it's rather poor in several places.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?

I take the Buu Kai release really seriously. Tell me about it. I planned my Dragon Ball home video collection around The Final Chapters. What goes on DVD, what goes on Blu-ray, when to get 'parts' and when to get seasons, how to manage shelf space... FUNimation's lucky the Japanese and French relea...

It's interesting: my favorite Z movie is not the one I think is the best; the best in my opinion is 14, but my favorite is 12.

I heard the "Son" part was off-script and Schemmel used it because he had been itching to hear Goku's full name in a FUNimation dub.

Re: Which fillers did you wish got retained?

Since numerous sequences focusing on Cell's human hunt were retained anyway, I would have preferred the house of mirrors (or whatever it's called) scene be kept as well.

Very strongly implies that they'll be the same. You're paying a premium for a digipak, a slipcover, and postcards with the "Fr ie za" spelling on them. The descriptions on FUNimation's product listings further support this. Feature Film (95 minutes) Over 50 minutes of extra features, incl...

Re: How much "canon" did DB Kai cut out?

Vegeta's hypothesis about half-earthling Saiyans possessing increased power was removed, as well as Kuririn's accusation of Piccolo wanting to eat Gohan. Also, the scene of those two wacko gunmen killing an elderly couple in the Boo arc was removed in at least the Japanese broadcast.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

On my end, the preview was on the 12:00 block, during Kai's first commercial break (if I recall correctly). It showed Goku being impressed by Golden Freeza's power, and then the resumption of their fight.
