Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

Some may find it ill-advised, but I decided for better or worse to email Mrs. Shulman about this issue, only because she's replied to my inquiries before. Sorry to bump the thread without having anything substantial to report (yet) but I just want you guys to wish me luck on this. Best of luck man....

Re: How to spot bootleg DBZ kai releases

unless you're looking for something like the Yamamoto-scored Blu-Rays. Which is what most people who buy Kai would be looking for. The Manga UK Blu-Rays are still the only way to go for getting a new factory-sealed copy of episodes 1-39 with that score, although I have a feeling with Funimation buy...

Unfortunately, there are no details available regarding that yet. But, once we know more we will be letting everyone know. :) Very interesting, its typical of companies to respond like this as it generally means whatever is happening on that date is confidential. September is a common launch date f...

Re: What do you want the next DragonBall series to be like?

Toei is only making this because fans keep watching. What is with people's aversion to letting stories end? I don't know if its aversion. I'd personally accept it if there was no new Dragon Ball series being made. I accepted that for the better part of a decade. It's moreso Dragon Ball is just a fu...

Re: What do you want the next DragonBall series to be like?

Good animation (preferably with Shintani's designs), music and storytelling. It's really that simple. I'm open to any story ideas Toriyama has that Toyotaro and the TOEI staff can flesh out, but it would be cool to see new things done, bring in villains with more grey area to their motivations, deve...

Lol this change of plans thing still doing the rounds? Anything to help people sleep at night I guess... Come 2021 if we still have no DBS then what? What's the excuse gonna be then? Bottom line the only official words we have had are about movies, we should treat this whole DBS 2.0 as a myth. Afte...

Re: Possible details on Selecta Vision's Dragon Ball (1986-1989) bluray release

"Going with widescreen over standard definition was a must" You know because the level sets were not in widescreen but they were somehow not in standard definition either, how the hell did Funimation pull that off if they couldn't do it for the Season Blu-Rays two years later? If anyon...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

I didn't elaborate cause I'm not really sure myself. I don't really have any thoughts on this mess beyond my last statement that essentially boiled down to, "I don't know what's going on, but I'm sorry I played a part in this". I guess I can just lay out the facts and you guys can make of it what y...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Just wanted to point out that Ryota Nakamura, who served as series director for Super when the Universal Survival arc began with Tatsuya Nagamine and then was the sole series director when Nagamine was appointed as director for DBS Broly, is an assistant director for the One Piece Stampede movie. A...

Dangit I wanted to spend my money now Where is the Broly release though? I don't see it in their schedule Oh. They've removed the listing. Guess it...

Re: Britain - The Only Country Still Selling New Copies of Kai w/ Yamamoto Score

Do we know for sure the score hasn't been pulled from the Manga UK sets yet? Like has anyone in the last year bought a new copy to confirm Yamamoto is still there? I often wonder could TOEI still be oblivious to it after all this time. A thought also occurred to me that with Funimation now owning Ma...

I too look forward to screenshots. I can wait for a great HD DBZ release because I love Kai, but OG DB and GT need some love on the format.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

I wouldn't be lying if I said this had me a bit worried too. As far as we know Wow isn't going to air Super so Broly is not the ideal movie for introducing new audiences. The Pioneer trilogy would be a better choice due to it being loosely set during the time period Kai starts and new fans could get...

Re: FYE Announces Dragon Ball Z Orange Brick "Collector's" Box Set

Yeah, i think Yamamoto's score fits Kai much better than the Kikuchi replacement, but unfortunately the scandal hit right in the middle of it being released here so we didn't get it as long as the Fuji broadcast. The problem with the Yamamoto music (besides plagiarism obviously) was how repetitive ...

Has anyone else noticed they're doing a DB Blue Brick Collector's set too? https://www.fye.com/dragon-ball---complete-series-collectors-box-set-exclusive-limited-edition-dvd-fye.000000704400051968.html That is interesting. Re: FYE Announces Dragon Ball Z Orange Brick "Collector's" Box Set

Yeah, this is definitely a big pass. Just ridiculous the Blu-Ray box set is cheaper. If this was half the suggested retail price I could maybe see it as a budget option for someone who wants any DBZ release, but at $239? In 2019? No way. Better things to spend that money on.

Re: Because Toei did not do a bluray of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z until today and they will do at some point?

Yeah, for me the question is whether Toei (and other anime companies) release Blu-Ray sets of anime that have 400+ episodes. One Piece? Naruto? It could be that the sheer volume of content puts it out of bounds from Toei's perspective. The original 3 DB anime are actually over 500 episodes. They ma...

Re: Because Toei did not do a bluray of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z until today and they will do at some point?

It just seems like TOEI doesn't think its worth the investment. They did the movies and specials because its less content and less work for them. They are the only company with film masters for OG DB, but because its no where near as popular as Z and Super and doesn't feature any of the characters w...
