Re: Dragon Ball Journey | Pencil Fan Manga

Alright. Better late then never. Page 1. Ideally I want to do 1 page day a day so on average roughly 7 pages a week. Glad I good I delayed this quite a bit. I have quite a few ideas in my head that I want to get out. As the story slowly unfolds... I had to take a picture of this, computer scanner w...

I just wanna see some stuff already, my curiosity is at it's peak :D
I'm glad you feel like that but keep your expectations low since creating a new introduction may require trial and error! :D

Re: Dragon Ball Journey | Pencil Fan Manga | Feudal Japan Inspired

No chapter. I have been delaying anything for a couple of months and I have decided I am going to change the introduction quite a bit. Hopefully starting tomorrow/today (depending on what timezone you are at) I will post some work but not necessarily chapters any time soon! P.S you probably won't be...

Re: DBZ is still DB

. There was much more adventure and thought, Goku didn't have to rely on transformations especially that is simply because like Saiyans can transform golden haired... just because they can while also having a giant ape transformation. They seem to have weird DNA mixture. Toriyama didn’t heavily rel...

Re: DBZ is still DB

It's always boggled my mind how people divide the series and treat everything prior to Raditz arriving as completely different story. It's not. I made this point in another thread I stand by it: Are there shifts in the tone of the story and time skips in the narrative? Yes. But they occur across th...

Re: DBZ is still DB

I don't know. I don't usually like aliens in my fantasy stories (even though DB already starts out mixed with ancient Chinese and futuristic). I suppose it makes the "Earth" for me less "magical" and smaller. Which is somewhat true when Z came out, Earth's world building became ...

Re: DBZ is still DB

Even with the natural trajectory, I doubt you would have seen the things that unfolded in the Z-era if Goku was still a kid. Like him getting blasted through the chest and dying, or characters losing limbs, etc. Also, I can't see a young Goku traveling to outer space and taking on the likes of Free...

Re: DBZ is still DB

Sci fi. I guess that's mostly why I treat DBZ like its own thing. That's not quite true though. Right from the first Chapter, Bulma uses a pocket-sized Dragon Radar whilst using a futuristic motorbike and carries with her an entire house (with power and running water) in her pocket thanks to Hoi Po...

Re: DBZ is still DB

I think when you really get into the genre of original Dragon ball of it being a fantasy genre then suddenly changing to a different genre, it does feel like a different series to me. Even Boruto feels quite different from Naruto to me. Boruto is literally a different show. DBZ isn't. It's still Dr...

Re: Dragon Ball Journey | Pencil Fan Manga

Probably going to drop out the first chapter today. 5 chapters. Some of the pages are already inked because I actually drew them a very long time ago and decided that I would do pencil only. The first chapter is very similar to the original though at some point I would like to rewrite the beginnig a...

Dragon Ball Journey | Pencil Fan Manga

A fan manga where the story of Dragon Ball Z is retold in a more fantasy setting and a bit like One Piece with its adventure! i.e it having Progressive adventure. Inspired by the old Dragon Ball and somewhat of Journey to The West (though I am not very knowledgeable on it as it is a very long book)....

Re: What statements in the manga would you change to fix power scalling?

I think fixing the powerscaling severely changes the story from the Frieza arc onwards. Does it? All we really need to know is whether somebody is stronger or not; the specific number doesn't matter really (especially after the Freeza arc where numbers aren't even used anymore). For example, Goku's...

Re: Now that Super is finished, what is the overall consensus of the series?

I think a lot of people have already listed the usual like "writing, powerscaling etc". I do like Dragon Ball Super but I did become less of a fan of the anime as time went but I did look forward to watching it or atleast a lot of the time. I liked the sort of slice of life episodes that s...

Re: Which did it better, GT or Super?

I think Super was better consistently and had better character moments (with introductions like Beerus and all). But I do think GT does have it's own charm to it especially towards the end. I do think Super had better story progression, one arc you can see does lead to another with more stories to t...

Re: Is Goku a bad person?

I think it's been left to ones own personal interpretation.

He is probably so pure of a person he doesn't think of the bad or doesn't think what he is doing is bad which gives off that innocent nature.
