Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Bonus Thread - 2008 Jump Super Anime Tour OVA

It did get a home release in Malaysia not long after the special premiered (iirc). The artwork has the 'official product' stamp on it that releases in Malaysia need to have, but as to its true authenticity I cannot say.

Re: Dragon Ball - Las Peliculas [SelectaVision] Transfer

I honestly don't know, but so far, SelectaVision has not been using Funimatiom's masters. I honestly am not in the-know like that, but I wouldn't expect them to have any connection to Funimation in that regard. If anyone has these and wants to take screenshots, I can put up comparison shots with Fu...

Re: Regarding different hair types in Super Saiyan in DBO

The only one I think they got wrong is the bald one. If a person is bald then, you know... There's no hair at all. Transforming into Super Saiyan shouldn't grow any hair, as there's no hair to grow to begin with. Glad Xenoverse ignored this (assuming they knew about these designs), so no hair on Na...

Re: Dragon Ball 4K Remaster (16mm)

I decided to frame the scan, and add the English intro over it both for demonstration purposes. I don't know how to download videos in 4K (outside MKV which Premiere can't see), so 1080p will have to do, but it still looks decent to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwt_F9nzXl0 For fun, I also OB...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

But if you take that and put it in a sustainable release and a much cheaper price, and all of a sudden it becomes the first 4:3 release of DBZ in the US since the Dragon Boxes, with some unfortunate DNR applied. It's much easier to recommend as a product compared to all the other releases, which is...

Re: Is anyone still holding out for a new HD remaster from TOEI?

I gave up and ordered the 30th Anniversary set when available (it was unusually cheap at one store here before its release) and I'm pretty happy with it, save the dnr. With that said, I do hope they do a remaster at some point even if I'm not counting on it happening.

Looks kind of like Onio (from Neko Majin Z) too, but again that'd be a case of Toriyama reusing designs.

Re: Does anyone else feel that much of the DB fandom enforces low standards?

I would say it's obvious Super will go past the End of Z eventually. Uub was mentioned during the ToP arc, and the writers are not stupid, they don't do things randomly. If Uub of all people is mentioned in the middle of a completely unrelated arc, then it's clear the writers are setting something ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

It’s still really weird that Funimation never recorded an English version of Head Cha La for consistency with Dragon Ball and GT having English versions of the Japanese openings Or following that it’s weird Mark Menza’s Generic stock music opening is used for the dub w/Japanese music as it’s kind o...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I noticed that also. I do wonder how many they got exactly, cause it doesn't sound like a number where it could be comfortably split to different suppliers (Sanity AU, Mightyape NZ) if FUNi only reportedly made 6000 sets. That new outer box took me by surprise the other day, but at least it should ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I ordered the set from the Madman NZ listing (just disappeared today), wasn't an easy decision, so I'll find out how that one is but I'm expecting it to be 1:1 with the USA release aside from a leaflet or attachment with their branding It disappeared from Madman Australia too. I'm wondering if thei...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

At this point if they just slapped a bare bones, raw, unedited scan onto a Blu Ray disc, i'd still be happy   Honestly I WOULD buy that! I love the idea of being able to see the rounded corners of the film cels! And if you go way, way, WAY back through this thread, when Funimation showed ...

Re: All-purpose Dragon Ball sale/trade thread.

Mightn't be the most in-demand item but I'd like to try and sell my set of Orange Bricks. They're in very good condition (rough estimate - with some visible wear on the slipcases for 8 and 9) and seasons 1-7 are the Australian Madman releases while 8-9 are the R1. If I'm not mistaken they're all abl...

Re: State of the Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z Broadcast Audio?

Regardless of what a handful of us here have access to. It needs to be on an official home release, and we shouldn't be satisfied until it is. Agreed. Though I also still wouldn't be satisfied unless there's none of Funi's shitty DNR or cropping either. Many of us would agree with you, I'm sure.

Re: Rumor: Disney Developing New Live-Action Dragon Ball Movie With Asian Cast

Oh, we going with the "they are aliens, thus they can't be Asian?" I agree that the Saiyans would look Asian based on Goku's design origins, but I think it's more that "they are aliens, thus they DON'T HAVE TO BE Asian". Also worth noting that every race in the universe, unless ...

I did see a Japan-made shirt recently with 'Gokou' on it. Granted I don't know exactly when the shirt was made, but I'm glad to see that that inaccurate spelling might be on the way out.

I see that too, it's the shape of the eyes and the eyelashes (IMO).
