Re: Other series like DBZ Kai?
Think of any butchered series from the 90s which got released incomplete on DVD with a completely different cast and music (I'm looking at Spider-Man The Animated Series in Portugal).

Re: DBZ (finally) returns as the main series brand for marketing as DBS brand is on it's death bed
The real question is: if Dragon Ball Super was so bad, then how does a change in brand improve the series production, when the same mistakes could taint DBZ otherwise? We already had two Dragon Ball Z movies, not better than Broly and Super Hero, in my opinion, which paved the way for Super, and the...

Re: Which villain does Goku hate the most?
At some point, it must have been Moro, because he pretty much made an angel disappear, triggering Goku to defeat him, but not without showing some disdain by giving him a senzu bean first. Since Ultra Instincts is supposed to be kept through calm, his anger did not show until Goku unleashed everythi...

Re: Fusions you wanna see in DBS
Beers and Champa are itching for a fusion in the vein of Evil and Good Boo. Instead of merging their names, just call them Black Velvet.

Re: Was DB Super a flop in the grand scheme of things?
I can only talk from my experience without information here: I returned to Dragon Ball with Super because I had witnessed Dragon Ball Z in my childhood. I don't think that Super would have grabbed my attention in case I was a newcomer and that may be a reason for the title to not have the same stayi...

Re: Dragon Ball's spiritual successor
This is gonna sound crazy, but I think Dragon Ball's spiritual successor is... One Punch Man. Goku and Saitama's paths are TOO similar. It just seems like OPM removes the insane amount of elements that mask what Goku has become/is. But they're both doing/becoming the same thing. It also seems like ...

Re: Dragon Ball's spiritual successor
Nothing quite like it, since it's so disjoint in story telling, but consistent in art style that you would be hard pressed to find an author who's not artsy for the sake of it, and whose ideas are not made to be out there on purpose. Toriyama was very genuine! Part of it was due to his contributing ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
A movie where a tournament is mostly present is Dragon Ball Mystical Adventure while Dragon Ball Z Bojack Unbound was the entire tournament. You could say that Fusion Reborn has Goku fighting in one too but it's very minor.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
No offense taken with nerd, but I don't think that people organizing their thoughts with math is what defines them as such, because writing long posts over the internet would be equally nerd-y. It just so happens that a math formula with symbols for numbers is more compact, and it's always from the ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Emotions are the ingredients of a good story, but logic is the recipe of a good delivery, because having thoughts is not the same thing as doing something with thought. The purpose of the latter is to trigger the former on the audience.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
You can still translate a few concepts into math formulas without numbers using symbols in a logical manner. We have concepts of color, time and gravity, not thanks to data analysis, but logic and reasoning driving those experiments, which helped to quantify them. How often do you see mathematicians...

Re: Is The Power Of Vegetto/Gogeta Dependent On What Transformations Goku & Vegeta Possess?
Are you asking if Gogeta and/or Vegetto are stronger in base than both Goku and Vegeta's top transformations combined? Why would that be the case? The story has never showed SS3 Goku and SS2 Vegeta fuse into base Gogeta, or both characters in SSB form into the same character, and their performance a...

Re: Was Dragon Ball Super a good anime?
In terms of plot structure and narrative, the Universe Survival arc and Tournament of Power were very dissonant with the rest of the series, being very episodic in nature with a story to tell in every focused group battle. Far too many unimportant characters were given a spotlight and most concepts ...

Re: What's up with the hate towards Toei and their contributions to Dragon Ball in some parts of the fandom?
Most people can't separate these products when they talk about Dragon Ball and I think that the minority who's followed the manga before the anime is a bit bitter that their world can't be shared without being tainted by another. The internet made them vocal against casuals and a shift in the entert...

Re: What is ‘Time-Skip / Time-leap’ exactly?
Ahhh I see! So Hit still stays there! Thank you for that! One more question, so if within that time frame Goku jumps up into the air, will Hit see that or will Goku still be frozen? For real life humans we obviously have to predict and make mistakes a lot, but I'm guessing Hit would have insane sup...

Re: What is ‘Time-Skip / Time-leap’ exactly?
I will try to draw it, but the idea is that the world is split between times, like an online game that is sent to a client who does some action in it, while someone else in another part of the world is doing another, and both scenes are taken in by the server which updates the game to both of them. ...

Re: Manga Readers Get the Short End of the Stick
... but why do games need a voice cast? Wouldn't manga based ones benefit from speech bubbles with silent characters? Nintendo has come this way without giving Mario a voice over even in games where there is voice acting. I think that it would be comical to have greyscale and dotted characters who a...
