Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Chapter 18 Whis is an Angel, I guess that ring around his neck is meant to be a Halo, makes me wonder why he avoided Vegeta's question in RoF asking what he is since he so casually revealed it here. Angels are neutral, I guess that makes Black taking out all of the Gods slightly less out there but i...

Re: Dragon Ball Super FT Trunks arc - Your thoughts?!

Zamasu was a terrible villain, the universe is beautiful, but you mortals keep ruining it with your fighting and killing, so I'm going to save it by fighting and killing a fuck ton of mortals and by killing the gods too because they wouldn't agree with me. Hypocritical nonsense and it's never really...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Good on Toyotaro for making Planet Babari seem more genuine and giving it more personality, the Babari have varying designs instead of the same character design copied and pasted for all the inhabitants like in the anime, they were fighting over sustenance rather than fighting over bumping into each...

Re: Do you prefer Frost's appearance in the manga or anime?

Manga, Frost felt way more expressive in the manga and I like how Toyotaro made him slightly more muscular than Freeza especially his thighs.

Re: Dragonball Super has potential to become a legendary series as Z

Rehashing the previous two movies for the first two arcs and Toei's shoddy production has already coloured the general consensus of DBS in a negative light and I don't see that being overturned anytime soon, let alone it becoming a legendary series (in a good way) especially with series like One Pun...

Re: Is Zamasu (and Black) the most depraved villain yet?

Zamasu and Black are definitely the most depraved villains in Dragon Ball so far, they claim Humans are violent creatures that only spread destruction and warfare thus are ruining our world, yet they go around killing Humans and Gods like across an entire Multiverse giving them a larger body count t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

No, because that was the point, for people to remember his one-off past transformation. And you didn't answer why no pants have ever been ripped off in battle, manga and anime alike, if Toei is so lazy because they stretched a Capsule Corporation sweater. If you don't want to buy it, don't ask the ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

There's nothing lazy about it. How many times have their pants been ripped off? And why haven't they? Think about it. There's nothing lazy about Toei copying and pasting a shot straight from the original anime and ignoring discrepancies like Future Trunks' hair length and his Saiyan armour tier Swe...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

So you're saying a you've never had a sweater that stretches? Unless you only wear skinny jeans amd tank tops I'd say that most of your clothes could probably stretch a lot before ripping. Not to a near Hulk-like build no. Seems to me that Toei was just being lazy.
http://i.imgur.com/oNi4...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The Saiyan battle armour is made out of a stretchy and durable material, but apparently the same holds true for Trunks causal clothing. Lol wat. You're saying that like a sweater like his stretching is suprising. The manga has more unnescessary homages; at least when the anime does them they have m...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Lol, this is ONE instant. Toyotaro does it multiple times each CHAPTER. The homages in the manga just seem plain lazy. I mean this one actually makes sense, unlike half of the homages in the manga which are just thrown in there.
http://i.imgur.com/D2Icghv.jpg

http://i...

Re: Why don't people like Whis' ability to travel back in time to undo stuff?

Probably because they think it ruins the "sense of danger" even though Dragon Ball never really had that. Anyway, I agree with you, it makes perfect sense for Whis to have that ability since he's basically a leash for the God of Destruction.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Huh, so Toyotaro did end up showing Future Trunks version of the Majin arc and surprise, surprise it was better than the anime version. He even cleared up that Future Elder Kaioshin in the Z sword issue that people were complaining about. The fact that a rushed monthly manga delivers and elaborates ...

Re: Toyotaro Goku & Toei Goku

Toyotaro Goku is way closer to Toriyama's version of Goku from the way he interacts with other characters, how he acts in serious situations and even down to the way he fights. Toei Goku is closer to Dragon Ball Z Abridged's portrayal of Goku and it's by far the worse thing about the DBS anime even ...

Re: So has Super been redeemed now after a shaky start?

If you're talking about the anime no not really imo a couple good episodes doesn't make up for the majority of bad episodes we get and Toei's characterization of Goku is still horrendous.

I enjoy Toyotaro's chapters, but I can't think of anything he does better than Toriyama, backgrounds included. <images packed with advertisements for scanlation sites removed by moderator> For the record, while I disagree that the backgrounds in the original manga are superior to those in the DBS m...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I think that Toyataro is a pretty good fight artist, but the reason Toriyama's look better is because of how much more intense they look. Toyataro's can be more dynamic than Toriyama's, but the frequent plain white backgrounds, lack of action lines, pretty generic looking sound effects, etc. make h...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Wouldn't it make sense to say that if Freeza's True form is only about Cell Saga SSJ2 that Goku's Base now a days could be the same? I mean if we're under the impression that his base is indeed SSG itself then he'd stomped Freeza and there would have been no need to go SSJB agaisn't Golden Freeza, ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The manga continues to be superior to the anime, the fight choreography between Black and Future Trunks was great, showing off more of Black's abilities and Trunks wit. With little details like Future Trunks forgetting to disconnect the time machine to show how hastily he tried to make his escape, w...
