Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I find it weird to see people dismiss this chapter as "fan service" when all of Super has been nothing but. For me, despite not being a fan of the manga, this has been a very pleasurable read, the kind of DB fanservice I wanted. I reckon I have a fond spot for the underused and the B-list ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
So the supplent team couldn't even shine against the thugs. Ok, this can go two different ways when then the baddies come back to Earth: 1- Our B-List heroes beat the crap out of them. This chapter would be just the perfect setup for a satisfying payback. 2-The thugs are killed unceremoniously in an...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
While I was reading the most recent chapter, I thought that Piccolo would invent a new technique, something that his foe can't know but I was wrong. As I read about 73's powers I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make Piccolo shine: Let him defeat an opponent with his same techniques a...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Actually, I was surprised when they announced they will continue with the Buu saga. It seemed like a long commitment to Abridged when it was already obvious they wanted to move into different things. So I won't be surprised if they recant from that, and won't blame them. ShortZ seems fun, hope we se...

Re: Why wasn't Mafuba used more often?
Ok, let's have in mind that besides Roshi -who takes no part in any fight after the Piccolo Daimao arc- only Ten Shin Han and Piccolo knew the technique. Which fights they take part in?: - Saiyan fight: There were two of them. You trap one, the other frees him. When Nappa was finally dead so were Ti...

Re: Paragus Dragon Ball Super.
I know Paragus isn't a model father but I sense that Cheelai and Lemo's assertions that Paragus only sees Broly as a tool and not as a person are not entirely true. I do however agree that Paragus is a bad father though. I was baffled by this too. Up to that point I've had considered Paragus a dece...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
There seems to be a conscious effort in this arc* for making a broader use of the cast. I would prefer if there was some "middle-bosses" to fight instead of just goons, but that may be a matter of time (future arcs) if they keep moving in this direction. And att least mah boi Buu got the c...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I'm mildly curious about the villain and totally disinterested about the Mero guy. More importantly, I hope Buu wakes up and actually does shit. An arc full of Jaco & Buu shenanigans can easily become my favourite arc from Super. The chapter reminds me of the kind of stories Toriyama wrote after...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
New arc synopsis : One day, Bulma is informed that mysterious warriors have landed on Satan's place and are taking Majin Boo. The elite soldiers who kidnap Majin Boo and knock out Goku and Vegeta are galactic patrollers. In other words, space policemen, just like Jaco. The guy with the ridiculous h...

Re: Piccolo's role in DBS Broly from SDBH 8th Anniversary Super Guide
Well according to Geekdom's last video (MASSIVE POTENTIAL SPOILERS) Piccolo is helping teach the fusion dance to Vegeta to allow Gogeta to happen Well, it was either that or "gathers the dragon balls".I kinda like this better, since is something that no other characters can do, and makes ...

Re: Shifting The Focus From Goku
I would love to see OVA's and mini-arcs focused on other members of the cast. I can't care less for Uub or any other newcomer, thou, and highly doubt something like that could work, even if Toriyama at his prime was the one at the helm. Which he won't.

Re: Toyotaro's art
I'm not happy with him as the successor, but I don't give him much thought either. The schedule doesn't help him, that's for sure; but I think he is a bad visual narrator, the rhythm of his battles usually ruined by unnecessary panels. This is the worst sin for someone labeled as Toriyama's successo...

Re: Why didn't Roshi train to prepare for the Saiyans?
Because at that time Toriyama was not on his favor in making him stronger or relevant. In-universe this could be what motivated him into secretly training and the reason he didn't join was because he was easily outclassed by the seemingly stronger enemies or couldn't do it because he was either far...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
The problem with Gogeta is the Fusion Dance; Goku and Vegeta have never practiced it. So they either nail it under pressure at the first try, with is a bit of a stretch, or worst we got again the trite gag of fusion going wrong.

Re: Why didn't Roshi train to prepare for the Saiyans?
His renewed relevance is precisely why him not helping out in the battle against the Saiyans has retroactively become a problem. At this point, are we just supposed to assume that he was simply too lazy to prepare for the Saiyans? Raditz and all the later antagonists could have killed Roshi with on...

Re: Should the series introduce enemies stronger than Beerus?
I rather don't have Beerus surpassed by Goku or villains, but for that to work he should have a more neutral stance towards the main characters that nowadays. He can go back to sleep (worked with Buu!), or some divine laws previously ignored should be enforced on him. This has the drawback of less &...

Re: Who from the Main Cast would make a good God of Destruction?
Another vote for Piccolo. He won't destroy planets by silly reasons (Buu,...Beerus itself) or out of cruelty (Freeza), but he won't hesitate about carrying out his job when needed. He has a longer lifespan than most of the cast, so after Pan dies of old age or even before he can leave Earth and assu...

Re: Toyotaro needs to be let go/fired
Quality aside, the powers that be have no reason to make changes while things are working out, and last time I checked the manga was selling beyond expectations. Also this: He should've been fired a while ago for his tracing. If nothing happened then is safe to assume that they are either happy or d...
