Re: "Quiet Like The Sky" - Kikuchi or nah?
If it's not Kikuchi, then I would be inclined to assume it was some stock music they had lying around. If it's inspired by something else specific, then it's not something I recognize. I'm not too familiar with Sibelius, though I have been intending to give him a good listen since I found out my fav...

"Quiet Like The Sky" - Kikuchi or nah?
The track kenisu calls "Quiet Like The Sky" strikes me as being stylistically quite different from Kikuchi's other DB stuff in form and in instrumentation. What do you guys think? Quiet Like The Sky I think that in terms of compositional style, Kikuchi can do whatever and it won't surprise...

Re: The peculiar case of G12 (Mai's News of the Valley)
Thanks so much for explaining. I am pretty new to studying Dragon Ball music so I have a lot to learn from those of you who have been studying it for many years. I hope I am not being obnoxious. I'm not sure I agree that the two parts have completely different vibes. To me, it's a very cohesive sing...

Re: The peculiar case of G12 (Mai's News of the Valley)
I'm not sure that even separation would say much about it. Separation happens in music all the time; sometimes you just have short rests or breath marks between bars to emphasize a downbeat, and besides, from what I know of music work, it's common to do multiple takes starting from rehearsal marks r...

Re: The peculiar case of G12 (Mai's News of the Valley)
Apologies for zombie-posting in this thread, but I came across it while searching for a video to link for someone because I am working on the wiki page for G12 and I was talking about it and now my curiosity has been piqued. Is there a reason to assume that there is a mistake in the Daizenshuu liner...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
Thanks for answering! I am not good at editing but if you or anyone else can suss it out from this, that would be great. I started with Ultimate Uncut just in case there's some thing in the Funi JP audio that I'm not hearing. Then Dragon Box, then OBA, then my hopefully not terrible edit of raw M725...

Question for kenisu: In DBZ episode 3, you marked "The Saiyans Appear Theme Music" as an unreleased "Alternate" version. I feel like I am missing something - what's different? (aside from it being cut up, which is normal)

Re: Episode #0487 (25 December 2020)
Such a fun podcast to record. Hope everyone enjoys listening as much as I had fun discussing. My fantasy laugh track version was better. I've been looking forward to this one! Really enjoyed hearing everyone's thoughts, and I'm glad the gang seemed to enjoy it for the most part. Thanks everyone for...

Re: Episode #0483 (26 July 2020)
Sorry for zombie-posting in this thread when we have a new podcast out but I kinda only vaguely knew that there was a subforum here for discussing podcasts and it somehow never occurred to me to check it after episodes I was on so I am also sorry for being late. Great discussion with Terez about the...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
I'm sure giving him a leitmotif just had to do with introducing this one demon as "this guy is significant and will be the main threat to Goku and Kuririn for the next ten minutes". And in fact, it shows up in at least three cues: There's one that was unused in the movie but was tracked j...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
I (mostly) finished movie 2 and I was thinking about this note: After all these years, while doing this renewed documentation I got the feeling that those few seconds we hear of M428: The Murk Kraken Eats Gasuteru might actually just be the tail end of a much longer cue, one that was mostly dialed o...

Re: Download the unreleased Kikuchi tracks here
M2 question for Zestanor: did you decide that the track that kenisu calls "Lucifer's End" is in fact M441-1? I just gave it a quick 2-bar-at-a-time comparison and I'm not seeing any daylight, so I might be inclined to agree with that, but surely kenisu had a reason for calling it M441-2......

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
I'm wildly speculating, but based on what I know about other productions, I imagine what happened was, for each TV-based session, he was probably given a "music menu" of the kinds of cues the producers would need from him -- like an action cue, a sad cue using a new character's theme, etc...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!
Source music is the industry term for music in a film that the characters can hear (diegetic music). This can *sometimes* take the form of stock, but I've always been under the impression the aerobics cue from Sleeping Princess is indeed Kikuchi. Ah, that makes sense; I don't think you used that te...

Question for kenisu: on the DB M2 documentation, you put "(source)" under Roshi's aerobics video music. What did you mean by that? I don't see anything about it in the notes. Are you questioning whether those two tracks were written by Kikuchi?

Re: Download the unreleased Kikuchi tracks here
I am back with the Fortuneteller Baba Saga, which might actually have some useful stuff in it! The Disc 1 Episodes menu has a string of 4 tracks: "An Unusual Dessert" + M114 + "Centipede of the Future" + "Attack of the Sabre-Tiger". The Tiger one sounds a little clearer...

Re: New Complete M400 Unreleased / released link
I haven't studied M2 yet; I'm about to get to work on it today, but earlier I was looking for something else and I browsed through your rips and noticed that the piece you classified as " M410 " (which is different from kenisu's classification for "M410", which you and Zestanor b...

Re: Download the unreleased Kikuchi tracks here
For Angry Blue I wonder if that would cover up the voices in my rip. Sadly no! It's almost comical how it skips completely over that part. But I will continue recording all the saga sets' unreleased BGM so there are no mysteries. Moving on to Commander Red, which uses the exact same music for each ...

Moving on to the General Blue Saga. The D1 Episodes menu has "Red Ribbon Strategy" + A9. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YEuZsuhnB8LOSIe-x97n25iEoDEPeyYe/view?usp=sharing The D1 Language menu has "Up To No Good" from Dr. Slump. I was worried about this one; it sounds like it cou...
