Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

That's because your arguments are based on a fundamental misconception about the nature of this story, making debating your statements point by point a waste of time. It's more productive to cut to the fundamental flaw that informs most your statements. Plus you were cherry picking a certain part o...

Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

There is really nothing that different in tone between the Saiyan arc and the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi arc. There is nothing that different in terms of tone between the Piccolo Daimao arc and the Majin Boo arc. They are all relatively on the same level on that front, which is why DBZ and DB had the sa...

Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

I have to agree with Gaffer Tape. With DB in particular fans of the original version have pretty much no good way to watch the show even in 4:3 legally without buying used limited quantity DVDs from 2003/2009, if they didn't happen to already own those, and even then you would be getting suboptimal ...

Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?

As much as I hate FUNimation, HG still having the license would probably mean no uncut Japanese version on home release in North America, ever, and even further changed dub names would be prevalent today. "Who's Son Goku? "The Japanese name for Zero!" "You call him Goku? You're such a weeb. Zero is...

Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

Apologies in advance for double posting. They didn't. Japanese Dragon Ball now sounds the way it does because the audio masters were thrown out by Toei after each episode aired for the first time. The show's audio quality was much higher when it originally aired. Shamelessly plugging myself to back...

Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

The only thing i accept is that thankfully this soundtrack has disappeared from all future DB material and if new fans are going to get into the series it will be likely with the original superior in every single way OST. Faulconer was never good. I actually once went through the entire list out of ...

Re: Has your opinion on Faulconer softened over time?

Disliking is one thing, acting like the only possible way people can actually enjoy it is "nostalgia" is quite another. For me it's absolutely not a case of "Stockholm syndrome" in the least because I had almost zero memory of the soundtrack from back when I watched the show on CN. The first time I...

Re: Has your opinion on Faulconer softened over time?

Agreed. Some people really need to find a better way to spend their time if you still get bent out of shape this much 17 years after the Z dub ended. Get over yourself honestly. Just take a moment to consider in what forum you made that post in and what the topic is exactly about. I don't think you...

Re: I've been thinking and honestly One Piece seems superior to Dragon Ball?

One Piece is pretty good and it is generally the best out of the Dragon Ball clones that have come out since, but i just don't like how unnecessarily bloated it can be. There are just way too many characters and it becomes enough of a problem in recent arcs where main characters get showed into the ...

Re: Can't get into Kai

Kai is the only worthwhile dub that came out of Funimation regarding Dragon Ball, but that isn't saying much. It is still just a 7/10 effort at the end of the day, at its absolute best. However it gets worse the longer the series goes on. There are still way to many issues to go over, so many in fac...

Re: Has your opinion on Faulconer softened over time?

Nah. It has gotten worse in fact. This is one of those things that is so disrespectful to the source material and it so cancerous, that i have no interest in even entertaining the idea that it should exist. It really shouldn't be anywhere close to this franchise and i'm glad that it isn't other than...

The Faulconer score is certainly not the reason the series became popular in the West. It’s silly to suggest that.
Faulconer fans are living in some bizzaro alternative reality i find. So it makes sense that they would suggest that.

Re: How to sync Dragon Box R2J to video

So all official releases have sync issues that the original Broadcast did not? Crazy how even the best release of DBZ has so many issues. Do Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT suffer from this as well?

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Can someone explain why they used DNR to remove all the grain and then add a layer of fake grain on top? Because I don't understand at all. My guess is they saw the complaints and in an attempt to damage control they added fake grain on top so that it appears as if they fixed it. Naturally your gue...

Re: Was the Level remastering REALLY too expensive, though? Almost certainly not.

So basically Funimation could release the entire series with a Level Set like quality with no additional cost since the the remastering work is already done, but they have decided not to. Sounds like a very Funimation decision to me. Essentially all these episode's are just sitting on someone's hard...

Re: Would Level Sets be more sucessfull if Funimation wait more?

Agreed with Robo completely. Funimation knows that what they are doing is complete garbage but they simply don't care. It doesn't matter that the show exists in the original form if it becomes so inaccessible to new fans and even hardcore fans as well. The best home release is long out of print and ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

These sets suck but i will be honest and say that they are a improvement over the previous BD release and the Orange Bricks. It occured to me that this set is also the first time the Boo arc is able to be seen with both HD and 4:3 Yes that doesn't make up for how terrible this set is, but i guess it...
