Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

I'll be honest; I'm a little disappointed it's the Funi dub. Still, the channel's owned by Sony, so I guess it's to be expected. Though that didn't stop me from sending them an email asking them about the possibility of airing Ocean and/or Bang Zoom dubs of Dragon Ball material, rather than Fu...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

The UK TV channel Pop is airing Funi's Super dub . They're owned by Sony, so this makes sense, and it's unlikely they'd air any alternate dubs, but I'm gonna throw them an email anyway and ask them if they'd consider airing Bang Zoom's instead, and I'll try to squeeze in a mention of Ocean's Kai du...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

I'm also kind of in a point where I don't really care for dubs anymore. I find it ridiculous that some people refuse to watch anime in it's original format because it's in subtitles or that a Western-styled anime means that it's much better dubbed. Why anyone would not want to watch something in it...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broli Blu-ray Corrected Subtitles (FUNi AND Manga UK)

And yes, I’m going for Simmons but Beerus is my one exception. Like you said, there’s nothing wrong with it and personally I don’t really like Beers. I also don’t really see anyone using Beers the way I see people use Kuririn and Freeza and whatnot. Except if the idea is to "Fix" these subs, then y...

-B̶r̶o̶l̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶B̶r̶o̶l̶i̶ (seems I was incorrect here, Simmons uses "Broly". Sorry about that, it is fixed) This is (presumably) another mandated change, considering "Broli" was indeed used before this: https://www.kanzenshuu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/broccoli_broli.png My Broly the Legend...

Re: How many series exist for you?

A rather odd premise for a thread, I must say, but let's dive in... DB & Z, to me, really are one series. GT is the sequel to that. Kai & TFC is the rehash. I'm tempted to say Super doesn't count, but much as I dislike it, it is the most recent iteration. The Super Heroes anime is just a promo minis...

Re: Why didn't Funimation just continue the level sets for the 30th anniversary?

Because if they put out an actually really good release, they won't be able to put out a nominally better version in about 5 years, like they've done roughly every 5 years.

Re: The Trimark (BLT) Dub of Dragon Ball

What I'm getting at is, "The first two movies were handled better, although they weren't without their deviations as well" is a bit of an understatement of the problems of both... Mike Mcfarland was a better Roshi than whoever Ocean was using when they dubbed the movies. That’s their one and only i...

Re: The Trimark (BLT) Dub of Dragon Ball

The answer, as I'm sure you understand, is to have all of DB dubbed with the in-house cast. The really weird part is the script changes (damn near none of them are for the better). Why, just why did they feel the need to change the scripts of those three movies at all? Has anyone brought up how the...

Re: Green Tint and the Japanese Blu-ray of Super Broly

An encoding nerd who's a friend of mine says that the MangaUK BD has problems with the encoding; banding, macroblocking, etc. Problem is, the Japanese BD has the exact same issues, in the exact same places, with the exact same banding/macroblocking patterns. So, it looks like Toei prepared two video...

Re: Would you watch an entirely comedy based Dragon Ball spin-off series?

The characters will act a lot more goofy, heck, the entire show will be a lot goofier. [...] A similar thing happened to shows like Teen Titans and Total Drama Island, so I'm wondering what would you guys think about Dragon Ball getting a similar spin-off that those shows got. If it's done like thi...

Also, anyone got any new info on this channel's air date at all?
It's probably not debuting on the 1st of June 2019.

(The rest of your post is very interesting, but I don't have anything to add to it)

Re: The Trimark (BLT) Dub of Dragon Ball

It kinda amazes me how all this happened in a handful of years. Even the switch between syndication and airing on Toonami felt longer than it actually was. The gap from ocean to inhouse felt like forever 😂😂 i felt like I was forever stuck on Namek Timescales of stuff in general always feel way, way...

Re: Chris Sabat wanting Scott McNeil to play Piccolo - A Kai Urban Legend

The mythical Canadian Kai got him back... Hopefully Wow launches soon so we can actually hear it. :D I have trouble believing that Sabat would give up his second biggest role just like that. I'm not so sure. Judging from stuff Sabat's said at panels, he loves playing Vegeta, and he really does enjo...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I just caught up on the two chapters I hadn't read yet. Fun stuff. Really glad to see Boo getting his time in the limelight, and I do really enjoy seeing Boo employing some of his batshit loco abilities. Honestly, I'm not really feeling Moro as a villain... Maybe when the anime gets there, they'll c...

Re: Funimation buys MangaUK

I encourage anyone interested in a home release of the Canadian dubs to reach out to Manga UK and express your interest as that's potentially one less roadblock. Honestly I'm hoping this means we will be seeing a UK version of Rock the Dragon sooner rather than later, and that would be an ideal way...

Re: Chris Sabat wanting Scott McNeil to play Piccolo - A Kai Urban Legend

I've seen this rumour make the rounds, but I've never seen a source on it, never been able to track down an origin point for it... Personally, if this had happened, I think it could've been rather fantastic. McNeil has always been the best English Piccolo, and him doing more will always be a good th...
