Re: Do you think DBS would be better written if Torishima came back to supervise Toriyama and Toyotaro?

Toriyama is only giving outline and an anime flows is different from a manga. So, unless you talk about Toyo, the only thing DBS need (since i mainly watched the anime) is someone who can keep things consistent which is what it lacked.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Isn't the current arc in manga a Toyotaro one  ? DBS story lived on the Toriyama guideline so getting ahead of the manga was possible but I highly doubt Toyo will spoil his own story. The whole catching up to the manga thing never made sense. Why doesn't Toyotaro just give Toei an outline? O...

Re: Official "DB Super 2018 Movie" Discussion Thread

Only 3 character hold my spot for favorite in DB : Goten first, Broly then Krillin, so the only thing I can say is THANK YOU TOEI - TORIYAMA FOR THIS ! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! . Also, this interview from Toriyama really highlight one of the many thing I like from DB franchise in gener...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0

From what I understand, simpler design doen't directly lead to a less detailed finished product. Simple design allow for animator to make their work shine and allow the uses of exaggerated movement without fully going off model (like Naoki Tate for DBS) unlike the yamamuro design where the struggle ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Only two of those revelation suprised me (Ribrianne being fat since the beginning and Jiren being the silent character), but it seems to me that some actually criticise the quality of the revelation which, in my opinion, is flawed since we talk about Toriyama here guys ! Toriyama is all about how th...

Re: The amount of recolor forms is getting ridiculous

Escalation always played a big part in the appeal of long running Shonen-Action show, especially when they are focused on an developping MC (the watermark of Shonen anime and manga). DB is no exception, it expresses its escalation with transformation, the real issue here is whether or not those tran...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

But what if these sales are kept during the build up to the movie? If the movie can sustain the hype by itself, they easily could just focus on further movies, rather than attempting another tv show. We don't know how much of Dragonball's money goes back to Tv Fuji, and that's the issue with these ...

Re: KOL explains why writing is atrocious

This is just preaching to the choir at this point, you don't kick an already opened door. Video about people bitching about DBS for "critical purpose" and "validity within the general anime fandom" have already been done to death but the wave is still there right ? So why not rid...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

snip To clarify my comment about "unpleasable fanbases", My intention wasn't to say that they don't exist. They actually very much do exist. Rather, what I meant was that since every sequel/prequel/interquel alienates some portion of the community in some way, all fanbases are, by technic...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I'm sad about DBS ending but seeing the current state of the DB fanbase, I think it is for the best, and to this day I still think that DBS failing in the eyes of many is mainly related to the audience and fanbase. I think that every decision made by DBS was followed by a large wave of undeserved c...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Dragon ball is "poorly written" ? What does "poorly written" even mean ? That expression comes up whenever a work seems to be unappreciated by Internet folks, as some means of "objective criticism".

Re: With Super almost finished what do you think of the overall series?

Lets be honest, DBS was doomed to fail in the eyes of the many since the beginning because the majority was waiting for it to fail, the majority was waiting for it to be "worse" or "as bad as GT", Not me. When Super was announced I called all of my friends in excitement and fist...

Re: With Super almost finished what do you think of the overall series?

DBS filled every one of my sunday morning since its debut, I hoped it would be THE serie that put back the respect the dragon ball franchise desperately needed on the internet. Yet everything fell apart and not because of DBS (atleast not in my opinion), but because of the public itself. Lets be hon...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I can't understand how someone can tell kelfa is stronger than SSB vegito, it just contradicti about every logic in and out of the universe. You should really explain how it's "contradictory" as you claim. This is basically an example of an Hitchen's Razor argument. This argument can be d...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Here's my personal tier ranking of Super characters (went a little overboard, meant to only include the godly characters, ended up including damn near everyone): -Slightly above Hakaishin: Jiren, UIO Goku, SS2 Kafla -Hakaishin: the Hakaishin, GoD Toppo, SSB Vegetto , Beerus, Spirit Sword Trunks -Sl...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I can't understand how someone can tell kelfa is stronger than SSB vegito, it just contradict the logic in and out of the universe. The only thing that might support that is Fused Zamasu being damaged by Goku which is open to interpretation seeing how Zamasu was (too) cocky and his body (and power) ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I'm pretty sure that Super is ending because Akira Toriyama doesn't know what to do next (plus he has a DB lore-movie to write) and without outline, Toei is stuck (and Toyo too).

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I didn't see that line in the episode but if it is in then Toei officially doesn't care anymore (or I'm reading too much in it). Let me take this quickly : -A heavily suppressed Jiren is the strongest vegeta ever fought : Jiren (heavily suppressed) > Merged Zamasu -Vegeto SSB struggled against that...
