Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
I don't really think it matters. Who is a new dub going to be for? No new fans are going to sit through 444 episodes of an English dub of three thirty-plus year old cartoons. If they're going to sit through that many episodes, they will in all likelihood be interested in the work from a historical ...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
"It's absurd to expect a redub simply because one dislikes a poorly adapted version. Wanting a redub and expecting a redub are two different thing. I doubt Majin Buu ever expects Dragon Ball to get a redub. . Be grateful that a redub was undertaken, allowing access to the unedited version. One...

Re: Funimation Release Doesn't Include DB OP2 & END 2-4
Tbf the 2nd ending in the first season kind of sucked imo. No big loss Those are fighting words. It's way better than the first one. I don't even like the first one that much  Now, I will fight you if you insist Princess Moon is better than Maiden's Policy, Watashi-tachi ni Naritakute, and Ras...

Re: Funimation Release Doesn't Include DB OP2 & END 2-4
Minor pedantic correction. The Funimation release does have the second ending. They don't have the first ending The two endings are nearly identical but the second ending is updated to include Kuririn and Lunch and omits some scenes in its place like a cross dressing scene between Bulma and the boy...

Re: Funimation Release Doesn't Include DB OP2 & END 2-4
Tbf the 2nd ending in the first season kind of sucked imo. No big loss The 2nd ending in SuperS was fun though. I would put up with Princess Moon if we didn't lose Otome no Policy, Tuxedo Mirage, Watashitachi ni Naritakute, Rashiku Ikimasho, Sailor Star Song and Kaze mo Sora mo Kitto, and many of t...

Sailor Moon was the same, we never got any alternate endings other than the very first one.
The 2nd ending in SuperS was fun though.

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
] "Shottily edited"? Not really. Though I can see that for the first batch of episodes, as they cut out certain connecting frames that were in the original Z, the editing got better over time as Q-Tec found their groove with doing it. Although, I wish Toei had cut more of the filler out o...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
As far as I can see, there is no evidence that Daima doesn't fall within the Super timeline. The absence of Beerus and Whis isn't evidence. We probably wont get a straight answer one way or the other. . I don't see this series having anything in common with GT besides the broad concept of Goku reve...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
I see Kai kept being thrown around as why Z doesn't need a redub and like Kai isn't Z. It's a shoddily edited, half assed, censored recut with badly placed music in the first series and a hideous green tint in the second series. I'm happy for dub fans satisfied with Kai but Kai's dub being good is a...

Re: What if Ultimate Uncut Edition DVD continued?
They probably should have at least finished their release of the Vegeta saga since it would have just been 4 more volumes anyways and then release the Namek saga as a single boxset. . They weren't perfect, but definitely had perks. Including the Latin American dub was awesome and I'm really bummed o...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Oh boy do I hope that Daima won't have any terrible asspulls like pretty much everything about Super Perfect Cell. Hopefully Daima aligns more with Super than Z in terms of writing. Hopefully, it aligns more with the original (or the Pre-Saiyan sagas for manga purists) in terms of writing. Both wer...

Re: Funi's Kai dub and accuracy
. Which of all the mispronunciations they could have fixed is probably the most important one. Even Sean Schmmel admitted that the pronunciation makes no sense in some 2+ hour interview he did. It's also the one mispronounciation they never could have gotten away with fixing because it's unfortunat...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
Why has Funimation consistently refused to include the more faithful, better acted and produced uncut Pioneer dubs of Z movies 1-3 since the original singles despite wholly owning them? Because most fans think the redub is "good enough". This actually reminded me on the Akira 25th anniver...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
] Honestly, no. Because the word "trunks" is an English name, pronouncing it in the Japanese way would sound completely weird and dumb to me. Like calling Piccolo "Piccoro" And it's gonna blow your mind when I tell you what Videl is anagram of and why calling her "Beedel&qu...

Re: Would a complete DBZ English redub be necessary?
I think the thing people need to realize is a redub is never going to happen. Ever. Even if Crunchyroll lost the license to Viz or Toei's USA branch or Disckotek the company would just use the already existing and popular Funimation dub. Sailor Moon got a redub out of necessity. The old dub skipped ...

Re: Dragonball Evolution 15th Anniversary
Also, to be clear, Marvel films have taken all kinds of liberties with the source material. They really aren’t all that faithful, especially not where stuff like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies are concerned. They just got a pass because most of the characters they adapted weren’t particularly m...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Now, I don't like her playing kid Goku. Why? She uses the same exact voice for him that she used to use for Luffy I don't get this argument at all. Voice actors recycle voices all the time. Who cares if her Luffy and Goku voice sound the same? They don't interact on screen together. She's not oblig...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Master Mutato being a minor character should not factor into it. If he is white skinned in the cartoon then he should be cast as a white skinned guy (I'm not sure if Mutato is supposed to be Asian or Caucasian) in the live action version. (It should not be a requirement but a heavy consideration) W...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Goku being played by an Asian actor makes a lot more sense than him being played by a white actor. If there ever is another Hollywood adaptation of Dragon Ball, there would be no reason not to have Goku be Asian. Him being an alien is a weak counterargument, especially when that wasn’t even establi...
