Re: Manga UK's Dragon Ball charity raffle for Mermaids

Yeah, just like how it's easy to accuse people of transphobia, isn't it? I don't care if a biological man wants to define himself as a woman, or a biological woman wants to define herself as a man. That's all fine with. Do what you want, it's your life. Enjoy it. That being said, it's a decision th...

Re: Manga UK's Dragon Ball charity raffle for Mermaids

Wow, talk about a h*ckin' cool move on Manga UK's part. It's a PR move but h*ck if I don't like it. Also, wowzers, talk about fearmongering going on in this thread. Way to down play such an important matter just because you think it's irrelevant. Making kids think they're transgendered could consti...

That "interview" loses its comedic purpose about the DBZ 30th if you know Spanish. Funny dude, he really likes his paella. :P Anyway, for those who pre-ordered this shitty release, it's the Season Sets - 4:3 AR Edition so you're still getting a crappy product but not as bad as the 16:9 AR ...

transgender kids This just isn't right. Kids are unable to make decisions for themselves and rely on adults to make those calls for them and then if a boy says "I want to be a girl" then the parent(s) or guardian might make him believe he's a girl all of the sudden. Charlize Theron adopte...

Re: Something I've noticed about the UK home releases and broadcast only Big Green dubs

Manga UK's Dragon Ball Season Sets are just a repackaged release of Madman's Dragon Ball Saga Sets. They're not really the Blue Bricks. The Madman release in two fat packs: https://cdn1.fishpond.co.nz/0001/513/095/3573691/original.jpeg https://cdn1.fishpond.co.nz/0001/513/096/3573322/original.jpeg

Couldn't Crunchyroll get the rights to release it subtitled?

It's a crappy series but watchable.

Man, the spoiler codes are broken as hell. The comments are bigger than they should be. Anyway, I'll cover the Spanish, Portuguese and British releases of Dragon Ball below. But I won't cover the previous releases, e.g. Warner Vision International (Britain), Salvat (Spain) or Manga Films (Spain) bec...

Re: Something I've noticed about the UK home releases and broadcast only Big Green dubs

There's some misinformation about the "Big Green" DVDs. In Britain they were published by Warner Vision International and in the Netherlands they were released by Bridge Entertainment. That said, AB Groupe had nothing to do with publishing the DVDs but making the English dub. DBZ Movies 2-...

Well, that applies to the Super Broly movie English releases but it's entirely possible TOEI would demand the dub names to now be used on the subtitles as a whole.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Can someone clarify this that FUNimation keeps repeating: The US Broadcast version features Mark Menza’s music for episodes 1-67 and Bruce Faulconer’s music for episodes 68 through the end of the series. We know the early US music was composed by Nathan Johnson and then the later one by Faulconer Pr...

Well, if it's really damaged then we'd perhaps have seen evidence of it on the Level Set version and on the RAW screenshots that were shared.

Re: Green Tint and the Japanese Blu-ray of Super Broly

I also noticed the English dub sounded a lot more dynamic compared to the Japanese track on the Funi Blu-ray. I think I'm gonna have to buy the Hong Kong Blu-ray if I have the time and extra money for it. Woulda bought the Hong Kong Blu-ray release of Resurrection F too. At least, they got a 3D Blu...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I'm pretty sure it's an SD upscale. That's what I've read anyway. I read that too but actually seeing it compared to the DVD version, it's clearly an upgrade and in high definition. People years ago and even now say that Kai is a "SD Upscale" because it doesn't look as good as it could bu...

Re: Dragon Ball should've ended at Cell

In the past there were rumors saying Toriyama intended Z to end with the Saiyan arc. Personally, the Freeza arc or Cell arc could've worked perfectly to wrap up the series.

And the Majin Boo arc? A sequel to Z.

I read that Saint Seiya had a remaster similar to Dragon Ball Kai by Q-TEC but it still looks like an upgrade.

The Dragon Quest games, as well as Chrono Trigger (was Toriyama directly involved in Chrono Cross? If so, that too) and the seemingly less well known game Blue Dragon. Hm, there were like two games of Blue Dragon. On Xbox 360 and on the DS. I love that the 360 version used anime graphics so it was ...
