Re: Is there any song based on Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai Pawa?

That doesn't explain why are the tracks based on "Makafushigi Adventure" and "Romantic Ageru Yo" and not "Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai" though, since they were performed by Hiroki Takahashi and Ushio Hashimoto respectively. I don't know if it was a problem with the rights of it or simply just no one wan...

Re: Is there any song based on Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai Pawa?

It doesn't seem like that one was on the menu order to re-arrange as part of the BGM tracks.
Probably because the rest of the Z OP's and ED's were performed by Kageyama while this one wasn't.

Re: Why was the Kikuchi score so inconsistently mixed?

A rule of thumb: If they were released on CD, or mastered with CD specifications (16/44.1/2ch), they were definitely stereo tracks since that's what the redbook specification requires. But if they were not intended to be released, as Kei said, then it makes sense that they were made in mono. It does...

Re: Long Live Chris Ayres

The bad news just about came out of nowhere. His performance was true to the original idea & execution of Freeza’s character by Nakao. Gone too soon, didn’t even know that his ailment was this bad.
My condolences to all those in his immediate life for their loss.

Re: Can we talk about the Funimation Movie Soundtracks?

In japan the openings and endings are played by popular J-pop and J-rock bands so it was somehow logical USA did the same in order to try to involve the youth with the animation. On the other side I feel bad for the people who have not watched dragon ball with the original OST. So that's why I said...

Re: What Band or Artist do you think should do the big insert/credits song for the new Dragon Ball Film?

So it's a limited choice and we can predict only from the Nippon Columbia singers? Or any independent ones can still get in? Well it seems they may just do insert songs with affiliated performers like they did when they brought in Akira Kushida. And there’s still quite a lot of them on that side wh...

JAM Project because they love robots
And you know, the fact that Kageyama is their leader.

Only real choice.
Problem with that, gentlemen, is that they're with Lantis now. Not with Nippon Columbia.
Even if the One Piece and DBZ intro singers happen to be in that band too.

Re: Which causes the worst in-fighting among Dragon Ball fans?

- power levels. This has been a subject which people would get too passionate about, which I personally find trivial at most. I understand how they were a plot trigger in the first half of Z with the scouters and all that shit, but how they were still a thing after Frieza saga beats me. Still fans ...

Re: Which causes the worst in-fighting among Dragon Ball fans?

If you want to take it a step further you could argue that fans of the Manga shouldn't talk to fans of the anime, as Toriyama had already expressed frustration with the tone being altered there too. Technically speaking they aren't the same thing either. Apples to oranges here. The scale of alterat...

Re: Which causes the worst in-fighting among Dragon Ball fans?

We're not fans of the same thing, we don't share the same interest as one another. Period. That doesn't mean that I "look down" on them or that I "condescend" to them or think that I'm "above" them for it. Why the fuck would I? That makes ZERO sense. This isn't an RPG, there are no "tiers" or "leve...

Re: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 Higher Quality Rips

This is absolutely excellent, found this some other place yesterday but didn’t know who did, however for BT2 this is such a genius idea to take it from the updated RB2 version! The quality is surely far superior and this would very much be the defining game rip (of BT2) we’ve been waiting so long fo...

Re: Can we talk about the Funimation Movie Soundtracks?

Imagine, for one second, that they did this with Ghost in the Shell (which, BTW, had barely any tracks used for most of it).
Maybe it’s a different audience, but people certainly wouldn’t take it lightly.

10 years since the Yamamoto debacle

Just about the only big case of its kind that has happened in this field.
Since that time, what's become of Dragon Ball BGM projects overall?
Genuine improvement or still having the same problem as him but more low key?

How many times has this exact same discussion been had in general now? We should be far past the point but here we go again. It was a popular show at home (where it counts the most) & abroad (Europe, Latin America, Middle East, etc), why would the story have been any different when it came to the US...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

I know right, some of their decisions like this make no sense to me at all. Or other infamous examples like giving ADV substandard quality second or third generation master tapes of Sailor Moon when the former were doing those subbed releases of the series back in the early 2000's. Well they were t...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

You know what the real kicker was about all of this? 4Kids actually wanted to make a more faithful dub but Toei apparently pushed them to butcher it to oblivion in order to get the series onto network TV. That's right, they were so desperate for the series to be a success over here that they shot t...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

...I like Team Faulconer's music. It should have sucked, considering the reason for its existence, and the relative inexperience of its musicians... But instead, it's one of the best OSTs I've ever heard. I too would've liked a Team Faulconer score for Dragon Ball. FUNimation may not've respected t...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

Small steps in the right direction? What kind of shit is that? It's a business, not arts and crafts. If FUNimation don't want to get stomped out by the competition, they have to play hard and that means big fucking swings. If the rest of the product ain't up to par, then you chuck it out the window...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

By "authentic", I mean authentic in terms of the Funimation version, not authentic to the original Japanese version. Wrong again, the only version that actually matters is the original JP version, Funimation’s was a fake, almost as much as Harmony Gold versions of Macross & 2 other series (or anyth...

Re: Opinions on the original Funi Dragon Ball dub

Well that's all well and good for the future dubs, but where did that leave Dragon Ball? Who says it has to become a sacrifice for the sake of every other series that follows it? Dragon Ball should be able to do what's best for itself first and foremost, and if that means the future series have a s...
